Chapter 881: Chapter 60: Heroes, Bloody Battle at Dawn (Part 1)

The citizens returning from the mist lifted their heads due to the knight’s shouts.

The warriors returned from death, firmly grasping their longswords due to the responsibilities they bear.

The multitude of stars racing across the earth reminded people of the fairy tales heard in childhood, recalling the grand frescoes within the church. In an ancient ti not preserved by the country, Holy King Morton led brave warriors to battle the evil dragon. Now, as a millennium has spun its wheel, the evil dragon descends once more; everything has changed, and yet nothing has changed, for those with courage in their hearts will always charge onto the battlefield to protect their holand, wielding their blades against the evil dragon!

[(Quickly appearing scribbles)

The danger from the outside world incited the remnants of fear within the “Netherworld Dragon”, compelling the unintentional evil dragon to launch attacks that are no longer simple. The “followers” lacking necessary information cannot make wise commands, and knights only at the Manifestation Realm struggle to truly assist the “Seventh Knight”. This will be a daunting battle…]

·

The first to arrive at the battlefield’s center was the Phantom Knight, Rakael. Rushing to the foot of the giant, he had no ti to understand the situation and only heard a familiar voice from the giant’s mouth. “Enter the reserve cockpit, initiate Protocol A-6!”

“Understood!”

Protocol A-6 was one of the extre scenarios conceived repeatedly before the dragon’s arrival, where all Creator Realm Mages lose combat capability in the worst situation possible. Having no ti to dwell in despair and sorrow, Rakael leapt from the ground, rushing to the left arm of the Machine God. The golden-light-dimd armor split open to reveal the reserve cockpit shielded by heavy protection. Directly ahead was a semi-circular display surrounding the cockpit, and before the seat was a certification port akin to a sword sheath.

Rakael seated himself, thrusting his longsword into the certification port. The internal communication channel quickly connected, with Gongsun Ce’s face flashing at the top of the display. Tubes of energy erged from the rear of the seat, connecting to the exterior of Rakael’s Phantom Armor, enabling the Starlight Armor to supply energy alongside the knight to the Machine God. The knight squeezed the spirit light within himself, reporting after completing the procedure.

“Fifth Rank, Rakael rejoining!”

The communication screen on the right arm lit up, and the elderly man’s face seed slightly uncomfortable with the novel surroundings. “Third Rank, Gafri rejoining.” The left leg, with Sara’s serious expression. “Fourth Rank, Sara rejoining.” The right leg, with blue-haired Yuliy yelling. “Sixth Rank, Yuliy rejoining!”

Outside the Machine God, Orianna obstructed the evil dragon’s attacks with slashings from her Holy Sword, her voice erging from the light. “Leave the specific commands to Gongsun Ce, and create opportunities for . I’ll find a way to rescue Mo, and then we’ll save everyone together!”

“Understood!” The crowd in the cockpit responded in unison. The giant’s eyes emitted light once again, and Artificial Machine God Chong Guang reactivated, standing back up with the combined energy supply of everyone. With vigorous strides, it ran between the buildings, its long hair wafting in the air like its original master.

At this mont, the Netherworld Dragon realized that its fogged body could be unilaterally regressed by Orianna, and the fear of death instinctually prompted a change in its actions. The greyness enveloping the entire city gathered, recomposing into the singular-eyed evil dragon’s form. The dragon, shifting from virtual to real, was several tis larger than before. A flash of fierce light glinted in its gemstone-like singular eye, causing all attackers to simultaneously co to a halt.

“Ugh…!”

Gongsun Ce felt simultaneous excruciating pain from his heart and mind, disallowed sensations coursing through his body, nearly killing him from ntal trauma on the spot. This was the enemy’s spiritual attack; without Orianna’s Creation Realm protection and the defensive interactions between the Starlight Armor, everyone’s minds would have shattered by now. “Use my… power…!” Soul Comfort Knight Sara shouted in his mind, and Gongsun Ce desperately hamred down the ergency rescue button.

“Lion Mane Floating Cannon, Soul Comfort Mode!”

On either side of Chong Guang’s chest beast head, golden mane modules took off simultaneously. The power of Sara and the Soul Comfort Armor traversed through the conduits into the floating cannon, with a total of 14 floating cannons hovering around the Machine God, rapidly resonating. An imperceptible spiritual barrier expanded, allowing the bloodied crowd to temporarily support against the Netherworld Dragon’s spiritual attack.

“Move fast!” Sara urged. A smooth ice surface extended beneath the Machine God’s feet, allowing Chong Guang to accelerate using the slide. A swarm of superpower projectiles with telekinesis as their energy source was all launched, yet whether energy or matter, all ans of attack turned into “nonexistent” illusions as they neared the Netherworld Dragon. The boundary between virtual and real was reversed by the evil dragon, as if reality had beco a dream!

Gongsun Ce had no intelligence on this, and he straightforwardly sought help. “So advice, Impermanence Experts!” The Machine God leapt to evade breath, and Orianna’s slash retaliated from behind, counteracting the evil dragon’s assault. The most senior, Gafri, ca up with a solution. “When virtual and real are inverted, attack with ans existing between both. Use my shadow!”

“Alright, Shadow Hunting Blade!”

The Machine God in the air shot a brilliant pulse upwards, causing the shadow of both itself and surrounding buildings to elongate drastically due to the eruption. Gafri and the Shadow Hunting Armor’s force exerted fully, making the “nonexistent” shadow soar upward like a bat, condensing into a hunter’s usual at saw in the Machine God’s right hand. The giant’s landing made the ground ripple like waves, as the Machine God reorganized itself, wielding the cutting blade to charge at the evil dragon. anwhile, the “strands” behind its head incessantly extended, seemingly searching for sothing as they aid toward the battlefield’s rear.

“—Ugh!”

The Netherworld Dragon let out a wailing cry from its mouth, its singular eye’s pupil shrinking in warning-like manner. This ti, Gongsun Ce reacted the fastest. “Sight attack, Yuliy!” “Leave it to !!!” An ice-crystal tsunami rose from the Machine God’s right leg, forming an absolutely smooth ellipsoidal mirror. The Machine God seized the ice shield with its left hand, hurling it toward the giant dragon’s eye.

“Cold Crystal Reflection Shield!”

The Netherworld Dragon’s sight attack struck the ice crystal midway, shattering the ice mirror into pieces after a brief stalemate. Seizing the opportunity, the Machine God assaulted from the flank, with the Shadow Hunting Blade’s slash striking the dragon’s back, delivering a grievous blow like a bloodthirsty hunter’s vengeful strike. “A great chance.” Gongsun Ce grew excited. The Machine God’s eyes glimred intently as he prepared to forcefully unleash the Heavy Light Beam for a profound strike on the evil dragon.

But, at this mont, the pained Netherworld Dragon took flight, uttering a soul-shattering wail from its mouth. This was a tremor of self-conception, an absolute assault onto individual life. Inside the machine, their bodies began to lt again. Orianna leapt to the Machine God’s forefront, utilizing Creation Realm power to forge the first layer of defense. However, the disparity in output levels was too vast, where the defense of the descended arc light struggled to fully protect everyone. Was it all going to end like this, lting into mist as it began?

At the life-and-death mont, Gongsun Ce had a sudden inspiration. “Rakael, wax figure!!” “Huh? Oh!” Rakael’s expert mind understood the key, and the power of the Phantom Knight armor, along with his Manifestation thod, was activated. Wax surged from in front of the Netherworld Dragon, creating an “exact duplicate” of the Artificial Machine God Chong Guang.

“Phantom Double!”

This was a gamble. Rakael’s wax figure could replicate the traits and partial power of the original model. Gongsun Ce was betting that the mindless Evil Dragon would be confused when trying to recognize “itself”!

His gamble paid off. The Netherworld Dragon’s howl weakened due to its confusion, and its once shaken self re-consolidated. Gongsun Ce seized the opportunity, channeling all his strength into the beam unit on the machine’s head. This was a lethal weapon that even older brothers needed to concentrate to unleash, and his strength alone was insufficient to et the minimum activation requirent. But…look! Incredibly, hope’s light blazed in Chong Guang’s eyes. Was it the boy’s spirit at this mont surpassing its limits, exploding with potential?

No! If you looked skyward from the battlefield’s rear, you could clearly see this scene. The Machine God’s cerulean “long hair” extended to its limit, forming a waterfall-like spectacle behind the giant. The “strands” that fell to the ground revealed their true state in people’s eyes. They were ergency energy transfer conduits. At this mont, more clusters of stars rushed from the mist, and the warriors rescued by the Seventh Knight finally arrived at the battlefield!

“Morton Royal Knights, Vesa Curry!” The young knight shouldered an energy transfer conduit. “Royal Mage Academy, Alman Konos!” The middle-aged scholar quickly connected the energy transfer conduit. “Prince Morton, Jackson Morton!!” The kingdom’s Second Prince thrust his hand into the conduit, wholeheartedly contributing his strength.

“East District Police Departnt, McDonald Lind!” The black-clad base-level officer supported a conduit. He almost let the conduit fall due to exhaustion, but another arrived just in ti to help lift it. He cast a sideways glance at the gaunt old man, and simultaneous, startled emotions flashed across both of their faces. A complex sentint appeared in the old man’s eyes; he mustered his courage and, like all the brave rescuers around, shouted aloud.

“Citizen of the King City, Douglas Burstone!”

Noble Manifestation Mages, core Divine Communication Mages, even relatively insignificant Clarity Skill users, at this mont, rushed toward the cerulean waterfall, contributing their faint spirit light to the dragon slaying. Among the support teams converging from all directions, even ordinary people working in official organizations participated. Even those whose spirit light had not been kindled held ancient weapons forged a thousand years ago, using the Heart Phase Weapon prototype to convert their vitality into the glow of support!

This scene was deeply imprinted in Philis’s eyes, and in the eyes of so many kingdom people, making it impossible for them to forget for a lifeti. They saw so many people striving to protect their holand and witnessed the brave heroes stepping forward, undaunted by the threat of the Evil Dragon. The spirit that transcended status, identity, and power led them to involuntarily shout together. Their courage and strength transmitted through the cerulean conduit into the Machine God’s core, becoming the key to victory!

“Heavy Light Beam——!”

Gongsun Ce unleashed the final strike. The multi-colored beam, mixed with excessive power, fired from the Machine God’s eyes, following the wound carved by the Shadow Hunting Blade, it pierced through the Netherworld Dragon’s torso. In this instant, Orianna flew up, concentrating most of her power to her side, she personally ventured into the Netherworld Dragon’s body to extend a helping hand to the swallowed hero!

·

[How terrifying]

Mo Yuankai heard the voice in the mist.

“Hearing” might not be the right description, in fact, he had long since lost his physical body. That voice, no, the thought, resonated directly within his ntal world.

[How terrifying]

As the idea of “world” arose, the scenery he perceived changed. Suddenly, the world spun around, scorching sunlight pierced down from overhead, the azure do of the sky looked like an overturned ocean, and under the roadside shade, old n fanned themselves while playing chess, with children laughing and playing beside them. “Mo Yuankai” was among those kids, wearing a vest and shorts, looking quite ordinary.

This is not . Mo Yuankai thought. The real him “floated” above, watching it all like a puff of gas, a ghost. The vest and shorts-clad “Mo Yuankai” turned into what he looked like now, transforming from an ordinary mber of the kids to their leader. Everyone surrounded “Mo Yuankai,” looking up to him with admiration.

This is all fake.

[There is no difference between illusion and reality]

The scene changed again, and he returned to the Sky Capital. Dragons descended from the sky to the earth, and superpower users stepped out of their cages. The TV broadcasted his na, with everyone singing praises of his great achievents.

The Sky Capital changed into Supibia, and those who survived the calamity were grateful for his contributions. “Mo Yuankai” was carried by the crowd, parading through the streets on a float. He silently watched from the sky.

This is all fake.

[What you believe is real]

This is all just self-deceptive illusions, what is the point? Does your world only contain illusions?

[What is the world?]

…The environnt I live in, right? Cities, countries, planets, the universe.

[Is that the world?]
