Chapter 821: Chapter 40: The Standpoint of a Hero

Shadow Mist City, Blue Church District.

The troop led by Knight Sara was threading through the dense forest, an encounter battle had just ended, and the ground was covered with putrid blood. Several knights were injured in the battle, and two noble mbers of the Royal Family were being guarded in the center of the formation by knights in good condition. A group of robust craving beasts tightly followed the knights, looking like their entourage.

“Has the rebellion not been quelled yet?!” Prince Charlie’s face was ashen, spittle flying as he spoke, “On the day of the duel, such a huge ss erupted, how incompetent have you beco!”

No one responded, as all the knights wore helts, hiding their expressions. The Third Princess, Grey, was busy drawing leaves from her large book to heal the knights’ wounds, she forced a stiff smile, whispering, “Elder brother, please remain calm…”

“How can I stay calm?!” Charlie pointed to the sky, “Can you stay calm?! How long has Captain koro been fighting, and what if he burns himself to death? And the King of Skeleton too…”

In the distance, above the Inner City District, the fire raged on, like a true sun descending upon Shadow Mist City. Creator Realm Mages had fought from the center of the palace to the West Side of the Inner City District, the Soul Burning Holy Fire still blazing, erasing the need to seek light sources.

This ti, the Crown Prince’s worries were rare and justified. The old captain’s Breakthrough Skill was unmatched in power but also burned himself in the process; his battles usually ended in seconds, never before had anyone heard of him spending so much ti in battle. Yet, the most worrying wasn’t the captain’s battlefield, but the “phantoms” appearing in the sky.

Dimly seen, images of two giant figures fighting erged above the Inner City District, battles that should occur in the real Royal Capital, yet were seen by the people of Shadow Mist City. The King of Skeleton’s “phantom” was becoming clearer, increasingly corporeal.

Knight Sara understood what this ant, multiple simultaneous Creation Realm Wars were pushing Shadow Mist City to operate near its limit, blurring the boundary between illusion and reality, causing the King of Skeleton to extend his existence inward. Should this continue, Shadow Mist City would inevitably collapse under the strain; who knows what the kingdom would beco then?

Ahead, another group of craving beasts lay in ambush, Sara signaled with a gesture, ordering the beasts under her control to slaughter forward. At this mont, a bird-shaped craving beast in the sky brought good news, Sara eagerly turned around to see Knight Orianna rushing forward on a white horse.

“Knight Sara!” Orianna panted heavily, “I’ve co to assist you in restoring communication…”

Prince Charlie was overjoyed: “Great, Seventh Knight! Co, protect —”

“Knight Orianna, the barrier strength in the Inner City District is weakest now, quickly proceed to reinforce the King of Skeleton’s battlefield.”

Sara took two puppies from her subordinate, both with extraordinarily large ears and sharp snouts like drills. She disregarded the Prince’s words, handing the puppies to Orianna: “A pair of Spirit Dogs can help you communicate with the people in the Royal Capital. Now isn’t the ti for hesitation, go assist Mo Yuankai in defeating the King of Skeleton. If casualties are heavy outside the barrier, anything we do inside won’t matter!”

Sara’s gaze swept past the Holy Sword behind Orianna, returning to focus on her face. Orianna was so nervous she almost vomited, having bitten her lips to bleeding. Sara half-encouragingly, half-forcefully pushed her friend’s shoulder, smiling at her: “Go forth, Seventh Knight.”

“Yes! Yes!”

Orianna grabbed the two puppies, spurring her horse into a gallop forward. Sara’s Spiritual Image Skill opened a wide passage for her, with all the wild beast undead retreating to the sides wherever the Seventh Knight went. Prince Charlie watched all this, dumbstruck, and upon regaining his senses, roared in anger: “How dare you! Didn’t you hear my order? The primary objective now is to ensure my safety—”

“Shut up! You fool!!”

The voice of youthful anger rang out, followed by the dull thud of a blunt instrunt striking. Grey slamd her large book against Charlie’s head, unable to bear it any longer. “If you can’t even see the current situation, then just shut up! If we lose the Creation Realm War, the Royal Capital will be gone, what’s the point of protecting you then, do you think everyone’s playing house with you forever?!!”

“You…” Charlie clutched his face, his hands trembling uncontrollably. “How dare you hit ?!” Suddenly he lunged at his sister, like a mad beast. Two knights tily intercepted the Crown Prince, Grey didn’t even spare her brother a glance, instead, she quietly asked Sara: “Sara, what happened to the Dawn Knight? She shouldn’t have remained silent for so long.”

“I don’t know… She always appears first, but this ti…”

Concerned, Sara looked into the distance, the White Stone District remained calm, with no sounds of battle nor strange sights. Precisely because of this, it was worrying.

In reality, Supibia, White Stone District.

Two maid individuals had just flown into the Saint Giles Bell Tower. Gongsun Ce and Yuliy had barely caught their breaths after their battle, and now Gongsun Ce, missing his left arm, lay sprawled like a dead dog in front of the large bell, a frosty mass over his wound barely staunching the bleeding. Yuliy, using Cold Crystal for support, was rapidly writing sothing in front of the bell.

“Yuliy, are you a turtle? Move it already!” Gongsun Ce shouted at the top of his lungs.

“I’ve finished!” Yuliy roared back, “Without cooperation inside the barrier, I can’t activate it!”

“Holy shit, how is that possible?”

Gongsun Ce sat up in shock, instinctively sending his telekinesis out of the bell tower to probe the surroundings, only realizing after doing it that being outside Shadow Mist City rendered probing useless.
