Chapter 658: Chapter 82: Sincere for You

Gongsun Ce did not imdiately open his eyes after regaining consciousness; he solemnly pondered whom he would see first.

The last ti after the great battle, he thought he would see his worried friends, but in fact, it was Orianna who was waiting for him. This ti, after confirming that his life wasn’t in danger, those heartless guys would probably go off to busy themselves with their own affairs, so…

It wouldn’t be Alandia this ti, would it? It seed perfectly plausible for the lady Knight of the Country to urgently co and observe the situation upon hearing about the changes in Cangdu!

Gongsun Ce braced himself and opened his eyes nervously. He stared at the pure white ceiling for a long ti, verifying that this was neither his own ho nor his brother’s, but rather it looked like a clinic he often visited.

He rolled his eyes and saw a woman with grey-blue hair sitting by the bedside, placing dicine tablets into a dicine box.

“Sister Zhenfan…” Gongsun Ce instinctively spoke out, then smiled apologetically, “Doctor.”

“You kept calling for sister over and over before, and now you rember to call doctor.”

Zhenfan snapped the dicine box shut and gently tapped his forehead.

“Silly brother.”

Gongsun Ce felt a bit embarrassed and quickly changed the subject: “What about the young lady? Is everyone else okay?”

“The most severely injured are you and Qin Qianbai; that girl is still resting in the ward next door.”

Even though physical injuries could be healed with superpowers, ntal exhaustion required a long period of recuperation. The burden brought on by the excessive use of superpowers could not be recovered quickly.

Rembering his dream encounter with the Silent King, Gongsun Ce anxiously asked, “Did I cause quite a commotion?”

“You started rampaging right after Sealing the sword. It took so effort for the Creator Realm Mages to calm you down.”

The light of the setting sun shone through the curtains, giving Gongsun Ce a touch of warmth. His short conversation in the dream had caused him to sleep soundly in the real world for quite so ti. The sun was gradually fading; the battle had ended in the morning, but now it was already evening.

The doctor placed the dicine box on the bedside table and instructed, “The first priority after Divine Communication is to stabilize the body and mind with dication, avoiding any adverse developnts. Don’t dwell on troubling thoughts, avoid strenuous movents, use superpowers less, and abstain from fighting.”

Gongsun Ce nodded obediently: “I will follow the doctor’s orders.”

The doctor glanced at him helplessly and began to recount the events that followed his coma. She glossed over her own past and only told Gongsun Ce about the parts concerning the Red Mage and Ayane.

“I see. The Red Mage is gone, but Chikou Ayane is still alive…” Gongsun Ce reflected, “That makes our battle even more aningful now. That’s great!”

Zhenfan smoothed his hair and said softly, “You’ve grown.”

Gongsun Ce scratched his face: “Have I?”

“The old you would never speak so decisively.”

“I’m still living with troubles even now. But one has to look forward.”

Gongsun Ce propped himself up from the bed and struggled to stand; he put on his shoes but didn’t steady himself and tipped to the side. Zhenfan raised her hand to support him and said in the cool tone Gongsun Ce was used to, “If you fall and get hurt, your dical fees will double, and it’ll be your full responsibility.”

Gongsun Ce exaggeratedly exclaid, “That’s so dark!”

Zhenfan’s hands wrapped around his back, and she pressed her cheek to Gongsun Ce’s chest, giving him a gentle hug.

“Just kidding, I don’t charge for treating my brother.”

Gongsun Ce suddenly rembered those tis when he and his brother would seek dical attention after a fight, always cheekily calling for Sister Zhenfan’s embrace…

Actually, back then, he was just being cheeky and never really intended to take advantage of anyone. At that ti, he was just an annoying brat. Yet, Zhenfan had never really been angry with him.

Sister Zhenfan must have always cared about him, right? It’s just that she had always been reluctant to get close to others and thus kept up that frosty façade. She hid herself within a fortress of coldness and hostility to protect herself in a world fraught with danger.

Now, both of them had changed compared to the past.

Gongsun Ce touched the back of his head: “Well… I’ve troubled you so much over the years.”

Zhenfan still responded as usual, but this ti her reply was less indifferent and more affectionate.

“Rember to take your dicine on ti.”

Gongsun Ce thought to himself that he might have truly understood Chikou Zhenfan for the first ti today.

Under Zhenfan’s strong objection, Gongsun Ce could not use White Matter to make a cane. He found a tal cane to help with balance and was shuffling slowly through the corridor.

“I think I did pretty well this ti, at least I’m not in a wheelchair, and I can still move…”

“——Aaaaah!!”

Gongsun Ce’s remark was drowned out by a woeful scream. “What’s wrong!” Gongsun Ce turned anxiously towards the adjacent resting room, and one glance almost scared the daylights out of him.

A little girl with black hair and a red dress stood in the center of the room, her back to him. Qiluo was crouching in a corner, trembling with her hands over her head: “Don’t co near ——!!”

The little girl looked confused: “Am I scary?”

“Very scary.” Qiluo was in tears, “Super scary!!”

“Uh~~” Lingyin turned her head to look at them, “Little Manaka, why is that?”

Zhenfan struggled to find a good explanation in the mont, and Gongsun Ce, trying to calm his racing heart, politely explained, “It’s okay, you are a cute, harmless girl. Qiluo has recently developed a phobia of little girls. It’s a trending psychological disorder, characterized by increased heart rate, high blood pressure, nervous tension, and panic upon seeing little girls in red dresses.”
