Chapter 615: Chapter 68: Feather of Miracle

Dust Explosion felt her emotions were like riding a roller coaster.

Just when she thought everyone had united to prevail, she realized that the God’s machinery was unscathed, the idol still stood, and the reinforcents summoned by the skeletal figure had died in vain. She had just been relieved to have been saved, only to turn around and see that the skeletal figure was left with half a body and was monts from death.

The roller coaster had lifted her spirits twice, but ultimately, it plumted down the tracks of fate into the abyss. Dust Explosion truly experienced the feeling described by her predecessors, the frustration of being utterly powerless, like her body was going to burst from the pain. She realized this was a sign of a superpower going out of control, but what did it matter at this point?

Let it lose control, after all, the city had gone mad; might as well blow it up and take everyone down with her!

The space-erasing light rain flew in, covering the sky and overflowing like a vast flood. Dust Explosion quickly said her farewells to her family and friends in her mind, wiped her tears, and got up, ready to die with that damn thing.

“I—”

At that mont, she saw a light.

A beam of dazzling golden light descended from the sky, like a God’s precise gaze, shining on the skeletal figure. The light had no form but possessed a strange power. The warm light illuminated all the space within Dust Explosion’s sight and kept Aorus’s terrible attack completely at bay!

The golden light gathered behind John, forming a single wing with illusionary feathers. The half of John that had been sliced away weirdly rged at that mont. His wounds healed rapidly, his internal tissues quickly restored, and in less than a breath’s ti, John Garcia was restored to an uninjured state.

John staggered to his feet, and before he could speak, Dust Explosion grabbed him. The purple-haired maid shook his shoulder excitedly, “You you you said you had no backup?!”

“Quiet.”

“?” Dust Explosion was startled, noticing that John’s voice was no longer hoarse but clear.

The skeletal figure furrowed its brows and removed the ferocious tal mask.

The terrifying, fleshless visage, unknowingly, had healed as before, and standing in front of Dust Explosion was not the scar-faced villain she had imagined but a handso, even sowhat delicate-looking young man.

Dust Explosion exclaid in astonishnt, “My… God… you… your backup even includes plastic surgery…”

John, failing to fully understand the situation himself, simply chose not to explain. The wing behind him unfolded abruptly, thirty white feathers took flight, twenty-nine of which positioned themselves around the trio, replacing the fading golden light as new walls.

At this mont, Angel Envoy Aorus’s body began to twist oddly for so reason. Its arms swelled like balloons at tis and shrank like sticks at others, like a bio-experint growing at super speed. Angel Envoy Aorus was forced to support itself on its arms to maintain balance in its mutating body; its other two arms made gestures, space-cutting slashes and space-erasing bursts which completely destroyed the street where the trio stood. Yet, not a single brick or burst of light could penetrate the feather’s defense, none could touch the three protected by that brilliance!

“Super strong!” Dust Explosion opened her mouth wide in awe.

“John Garcia, what have you done!”

John utterly ignored the enemy’s queries, operating the last feather that rged into Budman’s body.

“Budman.” John crouched down, grabbed his shoulder, “Wake up, brother.”

The raider’s fingers twitched slightly, his erased half began to regrow along the wound, and a dull light reappeared in his forrly dim eyes. Budman gasped heavily, like soone who had just been rescued from drowning, his eyes filled with confusion and amazent, “Boss? I… Ah? You? Ah???”

John gradually understood the origin of this power, just like when he first awakened his superpower, he completely understood what this power could achieve, and he knew exactly how to use his new abilities.

The skies over Thorn District were as red as blood, the ground thundered loudly. A significant change must have happened in the Demon’s battle… and that change was not difficult for John to guess, he had seen that scene more than nine years ago.

“The doctor saved your life,” John said with a rare smile, “You are just lucky, nothing more.”

“Ah?” Budman repeated confusedly, “Ah? Ah… Fuck!”

John produced a gifted dagger, casually stabbing it into his old pal’s abdon. He checked that his chanical arm was functioning properly, then turned away.

From the mont the golden light poured until now, less than five seconds had passed, and the God Skeleton’s height had almost doubled. Now, the abnormal growth of the God had temporarily stopped, Aorus regained control of God’s balance and issued another furious query, like a test-taker unable to accept the answer.

“This can’t be possible! What on earth did you do, John Garcia!!”

John coldly replied, “Your aim is too poor, you missed everything. The doctor just used his power widely, so Budman and I have co back to life, and your God temporarily lost control…”

John concluded everything with a simple statent, a conclusion that Aorus could not accept.

“I did nothing. They were just very lucky, nothing more.”

God’s movents suddenly slowed, likely because Aorus in the cockpit had beco stiff.

“……Luck?”

Aorus said in disbelief, “Those wings… the manifestation of good luck? Directly manipulating probability in reality?! That’s beyond the range of your weak abilities!!”
