Having said that, Will shot up into the sky, flying off like a rocket.
Rina’s mouth was still agape when her fingers had already subconsciously moved. She quickly dialed her junior apprentice’s number, only to be t with an offline notification.
“May the Huojin God bless us…” Rina put down her phone anxiously, attempting to contact another forr team mber. The little witch couldn’t stop pondering, wondering what could have possibly happened…

Ti rewound to nearly an hour ago.
At eight in the morning, Dust Explosion went over her new revenge plan and felt completely confident.
“White face, invisibility cloak, silencing device, anti-gravity floating shoes… there are no problems! With this, there isn’t a single person in the entire city who could detect !”
Dust Explosion sneered as she changed into the full set of equipnt; now her form had completely vanished from the perception of ordinary people. Even the most sensitive superpower user could not discern that there was another person in the room, unless they ran straight into Dust Explosion’s body.
She ran out the door full of excitent, and began to put into action the plan she had devised the day before. It wouldn’t be long before a hated enemy, whom she abhorred profoundly, would pass by nearby, and she couldn’t wait to start her revenge!
The Heart Phase Weapon “White Face Mod 5.53” functioned faithfully, diminishing Dust Explosion’s presence. Dust Explosion didn’t realize this was equipnt only the Clarity Skill mage could use; she had simply put it on…
The mask was effective as intended.

“Good morning, Sky City♪~”
At eight ten in the morning, Qiluo humd a tune on the bus, updating her anonymous discussion thread.
The busy idol activities had concluded the day before and now Miss Qiluo could fully enjoy her regular life. Having acquired the ability to manipulate information, she didn’t worry about being tracked and quietly set up a thread on the anonymous forum to record everyday trivialities and awkward monts like a diary.
[(・∀・) Today I played a ga with the boy I have a crush on, so nervous!]
[(`д´) Tried making cookies and failed…]
[(|||゚Д゚) Found out soone discovered the R-rated ani I secretly enjoy aaaaahhh!]
At such tis, the nosy netizens who loved a spectacle would post a string of mocking emojis [(`ヮ´)σ`∀´)゚∀゚)σ].
Qiluo had never expected to receive any heartfelt feedback; it was just a channel for venting every now and then. The night before, after getting ho, she posted [(-д-) Today I confessed to the boy I have a crush on, I hope love will succeed] and went to sleep, not expecting the usual teasing emoticons from netizens. Instead, she woke up the next morning to an unexpected outpouring of sincere blessings.
[po is a good girl, everything will go smoothly][|∀゚ po is not a fatty, surely won’t fail][(」゚Д゚) How many tis have I said not to discuss love on the anonymous board and hurt the single fatties’ hearts! Damn, single fatty wishes you success]
Qiluo was quite moved, never having expected to receive blessings. She geared up and earnestly planned her weekend activities, deciding to take the initiative and start acting bright and early on Saturday.
[(*゚∇゚) Brought so pastries to make a surprise visit! I’m taking the offensive!]
The bus arrived at the stop. Qiluo pressed the send button and cheered herself on internally, stepping off the bus feeling nervous but elated.
High towers stood in the Thorn District, and the shadow of the gigantic white tower lood over the hos. Gongsun Ce’s apartnt was not far away, just a ten-minute walk. Qiluo checked the ti; at this mont, Gongsun Ce would have just woken up. She had ample ti to run over and knock on his door, giving him a sudden ambush.
“Okay…?”
Qiluo was just about to cheer herself on, when she spotted an acquaintance walking by not far away.
“Oh my~”
It was Ayane, the doctor’s good friend. The little girl, hands behind her back, ca bouncing up, looking up at her.
“It’s Qiluo~ So unexpected, to et you here.”
Qiluo quickly hid the pastries behind her, and said awkwardly, “Ahaha, I should be the one saying that, Ayane. What brings you to the Thorn District?”
“I have important things to do!” replied the little girl cheerfully, “Um… um! That’s good. This makes things much easier. Co with quick, we need to hurry!”
Ayane grabbed her arm and ran toward the alleyway between residential buildings. “Little Ayane?” Qiluo was utterly bewildered. She ran after her for a few steps and arrived midway down the alley.
At that mont, an instinctual sense of alarm ca over Qiluo. She sensed a mysterious follower that could potentially involve Ayane in trouble.
“Little Ayane, wait a mont!”
Qiluo stopped in her tracks and turned to grab the girl’s wrist.
“I…?!”
Qiluo couldn’t finish her sentence. An inner astonishnt interrupted her words.
Ayane was a frail child, and even if her own strength was lacking, as an adult she should have been able to stop the other’s movent. But the feeling transmitted through her hands felt not like stopping a child, but as though she were trying to pull a mountain with her inadequate strength.
Qiluo fell to the ground. Ayane ran a couple of steps forward before stopping, standing with her back to her.
“Little Qiluo,” the girl said.
“Feeling too keen isn’t a good thing,” she said.
“It was supposed to end quickly, but now, you’re going to be scared,” it said.
It turned its head, without moving its body, just its skull rotating 180 degrees. The smile that was on its face before now appeared sinister, as seductive as that of an adult. The youthful face cracked little by little, the white skin lted away, revealing the true inner self hiding beneath the disguise of a little girl, a familiar streak of bloodlight!
Qiluo wouldn’t miss a mory; she instantly recalled the true form of this bloodlight. So with all her might, she used her power to send a warning to every person she knew, to the person she cared about the most—
“—!”
But the ssage couldn’t make it out of the alley; the information she sent was blocked by so strange force, as if she herself was trapped in a demon realm!
Qiluo couldn’t do anything else; she realized the mont she made contact with that monster, the end had already been determined. Clinging to a shred of hope, she parted her lips—
Then, a crimson glow took over her vision.
·
Licking.
Chewing.
Devouring.
A satisfied sigh after being sated.
She, it, the world, completed a feeding. The sense of fullness brought pleasure, pleasure brought a new hunger, and it resud the form of Ayane, tuned in to a new sound.
“What are you…”
At the entrance of the alley, there were three n dressed in black. The leader, with yellow hair, had a trembling right hand holding a pistol.
Ah, panic, terror, wonderful emotions. Delicious emotions.
“Monster!! Die!!!”
The sound of gunfire. A red flash. A deluge of blood. Feasting.
It resud the appearance of Ayane, laughing as it walked out of the alley.
“Who’s next~”
“Let’s play a ga of tag, the ga starts now!”
·
Clamping her lips tightly shut.
Not making a single sound.
Stiffly, numbly, wide-eyed, she watched as that thing passed her by.
The equipnt had taken effect.
It hadn’t noticed her.
It had ignored her existence.
A fleeting joy of a narrow escape, the elation of surviving a catastrophe quickly washed over her, but it was imdiately crushed by overwhelming fear and madness. She sat alone on the curb, crying in utter panic like a child.
“……Whimper!”
Wishing to forget reality, wanting to turn and run, hoping to pretend nothing had happened and return ho, but Yun Yinglang couldn’t. She couldn’t because she had clearly heard the other’s last words just as the girl was consud.
—Run.
Those words were ant for her.
Qiluo hadn’t actually noticed the abnormality of the monster; she had sensed Yun Yinglang, who was secretly following her.
“Whimper… whine…”
It took her three tries to breathe normally again. Five attempts before she could stand. Then she, Yun Yinglang, tried holding back her tears, maintaining her invisibility as she ran toward the street.
The fact that she had been rescued made her heart ache with pain. Her self-esteem, struggling under the pressure of fear, almost instinctively propelled her to act.
“Don’t… don’t underestimate !!”
She couldn’t just stand by idly. She couldn’t ignore it. The fact that she had been saved weighed heavily on her heart. No matter how, no matter whom she sought for help… she had to do sothing!
It seed that fate had finally cast down a golden thread for her.
Dust Explosion, crying and running through the city, glimpsed a dark hope.
