Chapter 597: Chapter 60: Red-Mouth Sche_3

Manaka covered her ears and closed her eyes, feeling as if the world was about to end.

“Well now, Little Manaka.”

At that mont, she heard a new laughter, sweet like a song from hell, crisp like a bell on a sumr day.

“Living for others, it’s so tiring.”

“I’ve realized it, Little Manaka! Why didn’t I understand sooner! More than everyone’s happiness, I rather want, I want more…”

She saw Ayane lying in a pool of blood, her shoulders heaving uncontrollably, laughing heartily.

“—to make myself happy!”

Clatter, clatter, sothing was rolling on the ground. Manaka looked down and saw the instructor’s head rolling like a ball through the pool of blood.

She instinctively picked up the instructor’s head, and when she looked up, she saw that all the instructors had turned red. The blood-covered instructors clapped their hands and laughed as blissfully as children. They joined hands in a circle, and knelt down in unison in the center of the camp, cheering long live as they raised their hands.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The instructors’ heads started flying one by one, blood gushing from their necks like wine, tinting the world a shade of crimson.

A color deeper than blood materialized, a force rising like light, climbing towards the sky. The midsumr sun donned a negative filter, black as the night sky.

Afterwards, she couldn’t see anything. In a world washed with red, only Ayane’s laughter echoed.

Manaka drowsily thought, who killed the instructors at that ti. After that, who led the children out…

“…Senpai! Senpai!”

She couldn’t rember. She couldn’t rember anything, just a sea of red…

“Doctor!”

Was soone calling her? She couldn’t hear clearly…Who was the doctor…

She was, she was…

“Chikou Zhenfan!!”

·

The doctor opened her eyes in panic, montarily thinking she was still in a dream. She heard the shrill screaming, painfully loud in her ears. It took her a few seconds to realize it was her own voice.

“Ah… ah…”

The doctor stopped screaming, gradually awakening, and saw Kardesia standing by her bed, another person with gray hair vigorously shaking her shoulders.

“Hey, Doctor! Are you awake now!” Gongsun Ce said anxiously, “You—”

Gongsun Ce awkwardly stopped speaking, as the doctor clung to his waist like a drowning person grasping for a lifeline, her copious tears dampening his clothes.

Kardesia gave him a threatening glare, and Gongsun Ce hurriedly patted the doctor’s back.

“It’s okay, this is your ho, no one’s going to attack you, we are all here,” Gongsun Ce comforted, “Tell what happened, who attacked you.”

Kardesia passed over a few tissues, whispering softly, “Senpai? Did sothing happen?”

The doctor took the tissues, covering her face, and it was a good while before she mumbled a response.

“It’s nothing. No attack. Just a nightmare,” she sniffled, “Why did you guys co over.”

“My dear, I sent you a ssage last night before I went to sleep, and you hadn’t replied when I got up this morning,” Kardesia said with concern, “I tried calling your phone too but couldn’t get through, so I thought to ask Gongsun Ce to co over and check on you… Are you okay, Senpai?”

Last night? The doctor mused fuzzily. She was out with Gongsun Ce last night, so how could she have missed the ssage… Last night…

“What day is it today?!” A thought suddenly popped into the doctor’s head.

Gongsun Ce answered seriously, “June 30th, 8:30 AM. The last ti you saw was the evening before last, we went to look for Dust Explosion together.”

“Did you see Ayane?” the doctor asked frantically, “Where did Ayane go?!”

No one answered her. Gongsun Ce’s phone buzzed, he glanced at it, his face turned dark in an instant, and a brief flash of burning anger crossed his eyes.

“…Doctor, Kardesia, co with .”

Without any explanation, Gongsun Ce grabbed the confused doctor and Kardesia and ran outside, leaving only a cold, assertive statent echoing in the room.

“There’s been an incident.”
