Chapter 1226: Chapter 110: Night of the teor Shower (Part 2)_3
“With wisdom and courage!” Klein retorted, “Have you finished causing trouble from about four in the morning until now? You immortal creature might not care about the passage of ti, but our ti is precious. If there’s nothing else, we’ll leave you to play around alone.”
Gaius was caught in a dilemma. On one hand, he wanted to turn around and slap his old friend, saying, “Please shut up and stop ruining my life and grand plan.” On the other hand, he wanted to applaud his old friend and cheer, saying, “Well done, keep insulting.” Fortunately, Xu Ying was unusually good-tempered and didn’t get angry. She smilingly jumped onto the glass cabinet, sitting above the scene reconstruction model.
“Forgotten, for you ti is a precious resource! So… hmm…” Xu Ying twirled her hair and raised an eyebrow, “How about this? Tell the whole cause and effect of this matter, and I’ll agree to your request. How does that sound?”
Gaius imdiately began recounting the past events, describing in great detail the beginning and end of the entire incident, the reactions of all participants involved, and the conclusion he personally executed.
“I see!” Xu Ying clapped her hands, looking into his eyes. She suddenly laughed, and her laughter was like thousands of voices singing in chorus.
“Very unwilling, aren’t you? Helpless, aren’t you? You’ve felt your own incapacity and limitations, and thus beca the ‘Brother Slayer’—how many tis have you looked back on this past? You rember it so clearly that you can narrate it to without thinking.”
Gaius remained silent in response, and Xu Ying seed to lose interest, jumping down from the glass cabinet.
“A man who chose a dull path, indeed.”
The eting was about to end, and Gaius felt a strong sense of relief, as he would never see this King again. But just then, a crisp tapping sound suddenly echoed, reverberating in the empty morial hall. The sound ca from a pure black cane, as an unrelated black gentleman stood at the entrance, tipping his hat to the three.
“Long ti no see, Ms. Xu Ying.” Jinglian’s voice ca from another man, “Very glad to see Little Gaius achieved his wish. By coincidence, we are free now, so why don’t we also discuss the deal we made back then?”
“Hmm…?” Xu Ying patted her head, “Oh! It seems like there’s sothing to this. This body is quite good; what do you want to know?”
“I want to know the origin of the Constant Law,” Jinglian said, “I want to know why you created this remarkable technique, and for what purpose.”
“You’ve always been such a curious child!” Xu Ying laughed aloud, “I’ll tell you when I see the end of this struggle. Before that, wait expectantly for the mont the most interesting events begin!”
Xu Ying leisurely left, while Jinglian twirled the cane in a circle and sighed, “You see, Little Gaius, she truly is an unpredictable existence.”
“Sorry, you two, wait a mont.” Klein knocked on his neck, “If I didn’t misunderstand, was her appearance facilitated by you, grandfather?”
Jinglian shrugged, deftly shifting the bla: “It was Celeste who did it, nothing to do with …”
Klein didn’t wish to speak another word to this shadow, and Gaius, hearing this, felt unmoved, as the Rainbow Winged Lord’s plan was always superior to the Faceless God’s machinations. He bid farewell, leaving first, and upon reaching the exit, he heard Jinglian’s inquiry.
“As Mr. Jinglian, rather than as a shadow, I want to ask you a personal question… what negotiation did you have with Xu Ying, Gaius Otimis?”
“I took her on a tour of teor City, in exchange for a promise.” Gaius said, “I asked her not to intervene in the upcoming conflict. I don’t want to see her on the opposing side, nor can I bear her assistance.”
Jinglian watched him walk away, murmuring to himself, “When you were young, you would’ve gone to great lengths to ask for her help… children are always like this, unaware they change so much.”
