Capítulo 1109: Chapter 66: No Ti to Rest (Part 3)

“But can Ustus’ advantage always be maintained? Three years ago, Zero Island was already on par with our most advanced laboratories in AI and biochemical fields. The Country’s unique technology in material science is sothing we still cannot replicate. The Empire still boasts the best mathematicians and programrs in the world. In other ‘weaker areas,’ all countries are catching up quickly, and the gap is not as significant as so might think. The reality is that our technological advantage is waning, and it may disappear in the near future! Why? Because the mont Sky City appeared, the era had already changed!”

Behind Gaius, a projection shows the Sky City familiar to Superpower Users. The man turns away and faces the majestic aerial view of Sky City.

“In the past 200 years, we’ve exploited technological innovations brought about by each state’s unique terrain to the fullest. We have theories explaining the terrain, and the power to overco these terrains, hence losing their precious tiliness. And a whole new geographical advantage appeared ten years ago, not only belonging to the northern continent but to all of humanity. Ustus’ geographic advantage is just 51 distinctive terrains, but there are five million Superpower Users. The technological developnt of Sky City is shared worldwide!

The past decade has been a decade of explosive technological progress, triggered by Superpower Users, leading to the ongoing Fourth Technology Revolution. This revolution benefits every country across the globe. When the day cos that all countries catch up to the United States, where will our advances and advantages lead to?”

Gaius turns around, raises his fist and shouts, his stern side profile brimming with determination and resolve, like a General rallying his troops before battle, with listeners acting as soldiers under his command.

“Ten years ago, the Sky Disaster destroyed Ruoshui City. Four years ago, the Netherworld Disaster and Colored glaze Disaster destroyed Supibia. Earlier this year, the Colored glaze Disaster reappeared and then, within a few short months, ca the Virtual Light Disaster on Zero Island. Increasingly frequent Dragon Disasters prove environntal instability, and we don’t have much ti for Ustus to relax! If the Radiance Disaster descends on the northern continent once more, what will the people of Ustus do then? Are we going to watch the giant dragon destroy teor City and cry, just like the people of the Country mourning their capital?! Absolutely not!”

“Absolutely not! Absolutely not!” The audience is fervent, and Gaius speaks amidst the wave of voices: “This country must change! So have questioned if I’m targeting the Church. My answer is no. I’m not just targeting the Church; I target all outdated and cumberso burdens because they offer no benefit to the future of this country. Prolonged stagnation brings civilization to its limit. The new generation of Ustus needs a new civilization. Now is the ti to change, for our country!”

Gaius raises his right arm high, and the fanatic supporters wave small flags and chant in unison: “For our country!” The wave of supporters makes Qin Qianbai think of the fanatics in the casino, but those active on the surface far outnumber those underground, and Gaius’ supporters are certainly incomparable to the martial artists underground. She envisions such a crowd spreading across Cold Steel State, across the entire northern continent, imagining millions or tens of millions of people shouting along with the brown-haired man on stage, the potency of their numbers sending chills down her spine.

Gaius then discusses detailed political agendas, but Qin Qianbai isn’t listening; she whispers: “Ah Ce.”

“I’m here.” Gongsun Ce gently holds her hand, squinting his eyes. He thinks of the robots in Xuan Ci State and the people in the fog who strive for life on the surface.

The man talking endlessly on stage is rely a simulated machine used by the Vice President to convey his voice, but Gongsun Ce harbors no disregard for it. Because aside from the inciting language, everything Gaius says is true.
