“I was just about to discuss this with you.” Grey nodded solemnly, “I think we might as well seek the wisdom of the Dawn Knight, for she, being at the scene, must have her own perspective.”
“Helaisen only knows how to solve cris and catch people; she knows nothing about politics.” Loningleste said angrily, “Her opinion is of no value at this ti. If that scoundrel Gaius uses ‘righteousness’ and ‘the future’ as his banner, Helaisen might actually take it seriously!”
That’s why I need you to find out what she’s thinking, Grey thought.
She spoke to soothe the irate old mage, and initiated contact with a Heart Phase Weapon. Soon, the face of the Dawn Knight appeared in the crystal ball, as calm and composed as ever.
“Good afternoon, Your Majesty.”
“Good evening, dear knight; the night over there must be quite deep now.” Grey smiled, “You know what I’m going to ask; what do you think?”
“I think this is a good opportunity.” The Dawn Knight replied thodically, speaking of using this chance to gather intelligence and saying all the right things. Grey echoed her words and waited for Loningleste’s temper to flare.
“Helaisen, you must rember, never consider compromise!” Sure enough, barely a few words were exchanged before the old mage started shouting. “That man will certainly use the pretext of dealing with future crises as a shield, especially be careful not to be morally blackmailed.”
“But, sir, if Gaius Otimis really has a plan to deal with a crisis…”
“Then does that erase his past mistakes?!” Loningleste roared, “He made Queen Annie lose her loved one, made children lose their father. He assassinated his own brother, just for the position of Family Head! He personally destroyed the bridge of peace between the two countries, and now he wants to start over? There’s no such easy thing in this world!”
Grey’s face remained impassive, but privately she focused her attention to the utmost. She noticed a flicker of guilt in the ever-calm eyes of the Dawn Knight.
“Master, please calm down.” Grey soothed, “I… I’m sorry, good knight, don’t think too much. Just do your duty well, and if you can truly find opportunities within, make decisions for the benefit of the many.”
Loningleste muttered indignantly, “But Your Majesty—”
“The interests of the Country and the big picture take precedence.” Grey emphasized.
The brief discussion soon ended, and Grey saw Loningleste off. She knew the old mage’s reaction wasn’t in vain because the higher-ups in the country were discussing together after the news ca, and even if the Dawn Knight had a secret plan with him, there wouldn’t be ti to co up with a temporary strategy. But the Dawn Knight’s reaction was worth pondering; the woman who never lied seed guilty.
What was she feeling guilty about? She ought to be angry, indifferent but without reason for guilt… unless she truly intends to try to reconcile with Gaius…
While pondering, Grey made a decision, and she summoned the loyal spymaster.
“Sekri, what’s your opinion?”
The old man bowed and said, “Burning Steel City is holding a Cold Steel Arena competition soon, which is the perfect ti for people to gather.”
“Use this chance to have the spies make one last probe, avoiding direct contact with the Dawn Knight, targeting her attendants or companions.” Grey said coldly, “Let see what big plan she’s up to again…”

Burning Steel City, the Dawn Knight deactivated the Heart Phase Weapon, nodding in satisfaction.
“Thank you, Miss Qiluo. You’ve been a great help to .”
Qiluo clutched onto the pillow on the bed, her mind having played out an entire 52-episode long series of “The Capital’s Storm” in just a few minutes. Heaven knows what kind of help this is? He was Gaius’s brother and the once predetermined successor as Family Head in the Otimis family.” Alandia said, “Fifteen years ago, Olerian Otimis unfortunately died in an accident while returning to the United States to attend the Family Head succession ceremony. After that, Gaius beca the new Family Head.”
Qiluo was dumbfounded: “I thought political struggles would be more civilized…”

“That was an old case from 15 years ago; we have no evidence.” Alandia shook her head, “Let’s focus on the present.”
Shiyu Ling observed her reaction, sowhat puzzled: “I say, Dawn Knight, you’re always so vehently against evil; why aren’t you angry when bringing up this matter?”
“Fifteen years ago, I was living in the eastern district of the capital and had no real sense of major political events.” Alandia said, “I only saw Mr. Olerian’s face on TV and in newspapers, I don’t know him, and I’m not familiar with him, so there’s little sadness in my heart.”
“Very reasonable.” Shiyu Ling nodded, she casually picked up her phone and dialed a number, “Hello? It’s already midnight; when are you planning to co back?”
