Chapter 1005: Chapter 32: Painful mories
“I’ll help you,” she said.
Her words undoubtedly carried no malice, and her arrival could be seen as an act of goodwill. Yet, a terrifying chill pierced through Gongsun Ce’s spirit at that mont, making him tremble uncontrollably. Gongsun Ce suddenly recalled how close to ntal collapse he was after communicating with the one-eyed man, and thought of those giant dragon worshippers, all his worries coalescing into Mr. Lan’s enigmatic smile.
I just talked with them, Mr. Lan said, they went mad after leaving.
“No, stop!” Gongsun Ce roared, “I don’t need your help!”
The Silent King’s eyes reflected a familiar confusion. “You are my subject. I will help you,” she repeated.
Verbal communication had lost its aning, and Gongsun Ce decisively flew upwards, aiming to leave his ditative ntal space as fast as possible and return to the stable reality. But the Kings are masters of the ntal realm, and all his actions were re noise in their eyes, not even qualifying as a struggle. The Silent King reached out again, her fingertip touching his forehead, and malignant information of black and red surged in like a tide, probing into Gongsun Ce’s heart with her will!
Many evil spellcasters’ downfall wasn’t by choice; it was simply because they had no chance to communicate or understand before an existence too grand. Minds unfortunate enough to encounter great beings are assimilated and twisted in an instant, becoming tragic lives ruled unintentionally by the Eternal Law. Gongsun Ce now experienced the misfortune of such encounters; he howled, roared, scread, drowning in a world of madness. Everything in his perception was occupied by the annihilating Tribulation Fla, that crazed cold fire carrying its goodwill, but to mortal eyes, undoubtedly a natural disaster. He was scorched, incinerated, turning into sentient ashes like a skeleton in fierce flas, the burning pain penetrating his bones, bringing unprecedented agony. He scread, yet no sound ca forth; expression at this mont beca a torture worse than dismbernt. Each piece of ash suffered in the boundless fire prison, each piece of ash felt its will.
Feel the pain.
Achieve strength.
“——”
The ashes churned in the fire. The flas embodied the pain. All the pains once experienced surged back at Gongsun Ce, burned into those fragile ashes by the Tribulation Fla. Being beaten, burned, corroded by chemicals, pierced, limbs severed, physical deformity, being beaten to fragnts… pain flooded in with mories, the conscious ashes felt the sa sensations, each painful experience replayed thousands of tis in his heart, like endless suffering in hell.
Suddenly, the physical pain vanished, and they thought hell had reached its end, yet the images that ensued beca clearer and more vivid.
He saw himself being mocked, despised. Himself running alone in the city. Himself feared and scorned for being a Superpower User. ntal pain ceaselessly assaulted, he saw himself standing dumb in the depths of Do City, Shiyu Ling’s right hand pierced his chest, extracting his heart.
“—————”
For the first ti, the dust emitted a recognizable shriek. Countless ashes reford into Gongsun Ce’s shape, finding himself in Do City, in the depths of the hell created by the Wrathful Sky, Qin Qianbai about to be ravaged by the Red Mage’s demons, she turned her head in the last mont, telling him to go quickly.
“No, no!”
The painful mories continued, continued. He ca back to three years ago, when the Phantasmal Calamity descended, where he fought side by side with his brother and everyone, only to face a second disaster. He once again saw familiar people turning into crystals, saw their desperate faces before death. “No.” Saw the hellish Supibia. “No…” Saw the white-robed, high-hatted man standing alone in the beautiful hell, letting out a sinister cackle.
Gongsun Ce sensed what he was about to see, praying and weeping, tearing at himself, trying to evade all that had been. But the fla-ford Situ Yi smiled at him, and he eventually returned to the Valkyrie’s battlefield, galloping with a silver-haired, silver-armored Knight like light. They defeated the manipulated comrades together, encouraged each other together, supported crossing despair together, but all beauty was ultimately ended by malice, a black dagger piercing her chest.
She fell in a pool of blood, like a lone star falling.
“——Don’t!!”
This was real pain, neither physical scars nor ntal humiliation, but watching tragedy unfold with open eyes, watching her about to die, yet only able to weep helplessly on the side.
The hell of Tribulation Fla ended, but the pain could never dissipate. Gongsun Ce tore at his own flesh in the flas, seeing both the ntal and the real world, the two worlds overlapping in his eyes, indistinguishable. His body entirely turned to fla, Nirvana Fla igniting in the other world’s side. He walked forward, wailing madly, wanting to burn out completely, becoming the gray fire incinerating everything.
“Calm.”
Starry lights flickered in the endless hell, her voice reached the depths of the flas. “Maintain yourself.” The starry lights approached him, walking through the flas of pain, her form burned yet showing no retreat. She embraced the gray fire in both worlds at once.
“Follow the guidance, complete the task.”
Hellish visions were gradually dispelled by the gentle starry light, a thread of reason miraculously returned to the fire. The fla packed all those sensations into his pre-chosen vessel, without minding re-crafting them, it rose upward with the starry light, rose upward.
