Officer Yang's words were half understood by Nangong, but Suming understood them all.
Nangong was still hesitating whether or not to smooth things over when Suming tugged at her hand from behind.
There were so things Officer Yang couldn't say outright in front of Mr. Li.
If the intention really was to get Nangong to cozy up to soone, Officer Yang would never point out in public that this Mr. Li was a 'deputy chief'.
One word could make a world of difference in status. In the absence of the actual chief, any subordinate would instinctively drop the word 'deputy' when referring to the leadership face to face. Otherwise, it may seem like the speaker is exposing the leader's shortcomings, and the listener would also feel unhappy.
Since Nangong's Uncle had sent Officer Yang to handle this, it surely ant he recognized Yang's capabilities. Officer Yang wouldn't be so green kid who didn't understand anything. Since he pointed out in front of so many people that the other party was the deputy chief, there must be a deeper aning behind it.
Even if there were no hidden implications, Suming would not call this damn Mr. Li 'uncle'...
Stepping forward, Suming said to Officer Yang with a stern face, "Comrade, we should conduct official business officially. Whatever his position may be, it has nothing to do with the case itself. Officer Yang, knowing Suming had fully understood his hint, smiled, stood aside with hands clasped behind his back, and looked at Mr. Li with a smile.
"Fine, you want the people from the jurisdiction to handle it, right? Li, call the Heping Road Police Station!" Mr. Li's face turned unsightly as he gave the command to one of the policen he had brought with him. In terms of jurisdiction, this area was under the direct control of the Heping Road Police Station. Although the station chief did not belong to their Baiyang Sub-bureau, he was rather close to Mr. Li; going to the Heping Road Police Station was not much different from being taken to the Baiyang Sub-bureau.

About fifteen minutes later, the third police car arrived.
A chubby policeman stepped out of the vehicle, his shoulder badge indicating a rank higher than that of Mr. Li.
"What's the matter here? Officer Yang, you are here? And Mr. Li, you are here too?" The plump officer looked rather amiable, asking cheerfully the mont he stepped out of the car and saw both parties.
"Mr. Huang, hello!"
"Good day, leaders!"
Mr. Li and Yang simultaneously greeted with so respect, but their thoughts were quite different.
Yang felt a wave of relief, while Mr. Li cursed under his breath about bad luck. He was still one step too late, having roused this smiling tiger.
"Very good, very good. In this scorching heat, everyone is working hard." Mr. Huang got out of the car and within a few steps was sweating profusely. As he wiped his sweat, he said to the two, "I got a call, heard that the deputy chief of Baiyang Sub-bureau was involved, and thought a major case had developed, so I ca personally!" He glanced at the scene and asked with concern, "Nobody's dead, right?"
"No," Li quickly said.
"No serious injuries or disabilities?" Mr. Huang asked again.
"No, no," Li replied again.

Having said this, he turned and walked towards the police car.
Suming glanced at Yang, and Officer Yang gave him a nod.
Mr. Huang, the bona fide chief of Wuli Sub-bureau, was correct to take people away, as Heping Road was under the jurisdiction of Heping Road Police Station, which was a part of Wuli Sub-bureau.
Mr. Huang, commonly known by the nickna "Smiling Tiger," smiles all day long and offends no one.
However, Mr. Li knew that Mr. Huang's sister-in-law worked in the municipal ard police detachnt with the rank of a junior officer, and Mr. Nangong's brother, who was the vice-chief of the sa detachnt... Damn it, how did he manage to stir up this hornet's nest?
Mr. Li's mobile phone vibrated, and he glanced at it. A simple text ssage.
