The hospital's hostage-taker quickly responded. The burly man shouted from inside, "Cut the chatter, send soone in charge to talk to ."
Soon after, a charming figure approached and stopped about ten ters from the hospital entrance.
Although faced with seven or eight guns, Qima showed no fear, "What are your demands? Tell ."
The thug inside the hospital sneered after sizing up Qima, "You send a young girl to negotiate with us? Are you looking down on us?"
Qima replied coldly, "I am the newly appointed Chief of Police in Manchester, and the highest-ranking officer here."
"What?" The criminal was stunned for a mont, as he had not expected the new police chief to be so young.
Damn, this young girl really has connections, to be promoted to police chief so quickly.
Pausing briefly, the criminal then said, "We are here for Yasin, and if he is not released, there will be a bloodbath today."
"Yasin?" Upon hearing the na, Qima's expression slightly changed.
Yasin was the head of a temple and had been detained by police yesterday for bribing a mber of the Vara family, evidence of which was found in their ho.
Just one day after the arrest, these thugs had caused such a stir to break Yasin out.
Having understood the negotiation terms, Qima returned to the command vehicle.
"Damn, they are actually here for Yasin," Qima said, her face grim.
"Yasin was only cooperating with the investigation, and the bribe was a small sum, riting at most a year in jail. The other side doesn't need to make such a big fuss," Deputy Chief Naka said doubtfully.
"What should we do now? Maybe we should just hand him over to them, considering how many hostages are inside," Naka said with a deep voice.
To exchange a not-so-significant prisoner for so many lives seed a worthwhile trade.
Qima furrowed her brows, "No, we can't give him to them. If they are so desperate to get Yasin out imdiately, there definitely is an issue with this guy."
"Chief Qima, I hope you realize the gravity of the situation. These are brutal criminals, and there are hundreds of hostages in the hospital. Can you bear the responsibility if things go wrong?" Naka said discontentedly.
With Wadi stepping down, Naka had always assud he would be made the next police chief. He never dread that the position would go to a nearly inexperienced Qima, which irked him greatly.
"But I have an intuition that releasing Yasin might cause even greater harm," Qima retorted firmly.
"Hmph, since you are so determined, you command this operation yourself. Rember, you're on your own if anything goes wrong," Naka said angrily as he stord out of the command vehicle.
He was irritated with Qima's attitude, simply unaware that if he knew she was the General's daughter, he might have been terrified by now.
In the command vehicle, the other commanders all looked at the young chief. Truth be told, they were not convinced by Qima's appointnt, so they were also eager to see her fail now.
"Captain Suo Ya, what are our chances if we go in strong?" Qima asked.
Suo Ya pondered for a mont, "They have hostages, and the surroundings are very open. If we attack, they will surely kill the hostages, so the likelihood of a successful assault is zero."
"What?" After hearing Suo Ya's words, Qima's expression grew even grimr.
At that mont, a swaggering voice from outside rang out, "Listen up, you have ten minutes. If you don't release Yasin, we will kill one person every three minutes."
"Boom!"
Upon hearing these words, everyone's face turned sour.
To kill one person every three minutes, these guys are truly reckless.
"Chief, don't hesitate anymore, the hostage is important, release Yasin quickly," said another commander.
Qima's gaze was fixed on the hospital's layout when suddenly she pointed to a duct, "Is there a possibility to break through here?"
Suo Ya looked at the layout, his eyes lighting up, "Right, this is the sewer. If we move from here, we can really catch them by surprise."
Qima's eyes glittered as she spoke, "Good, let's proceed with this plan."
At that mont, the hospital was enveloped by a terrifying atmosphere.
The leader, holding a submachine gun, glanced at his watch and said, "Five more minutes, let's kill a hostage to draw so blood."
Saying this, his eyes swept over and spotted Luo Li, who huddled shivering in the crowd.
"You, get up," the leader snorted coldly.
"No, not , please, I beg you," burst out Luo Li, wetting his pants in fear.
At that mont, two thugs grabbed an arm each and dragged Luo Li to the doorway.
Watching this scene, Wei Ling couldn't bear it; she glanced at Lin Chen but said nothing.
After all, the area was surrounded by gun-toting thugs, and it was too dangerous for Lin Chen to act now.
Lin Chen nodded at her, preparing to make a move to save him.
But just then, Luo Li wailed, "Killing , a nobody, the police won't care. There's a girl here, the daughter of China's richest man. Her family has loads of money; the police will definitely et your demands."
"This despicable guy," Lin Chen's eyes narrowed slightly as he cursed Luo Li silently.
Hearing Luo Li's words, a spark flashed in the eyes of the thug leader, "Wait a mont, which girl are you talking about?"
At that mont, Wei Ling's face turned sour. She never dread that the man who'd always professed his love for her would be such a person, trading her life for his in the face of death.
Luo Li, clutching at straws, pointed at Wei Ling, "Her, use her as a hostage. She'll be more useful than ."
The thug leader's face displayed a cold smile as he told his n, "You two, bring that girl here."
The two fierce thugs nodded and strode nacingly toward Wei Ling.
Wei Ling's eyes showed a hint of panic as she tightly grasped Lin Chen's arm.
Lin Chen's face bore a faint smile as he whispered softly, "Don't worry, it's going to be alright."
As the two thugs approached Wei Ling, one of them revealed a ferocious grin, "Co with , girl!"
However, just then, a flash of golden light darted through Lin Chen's pupils, causing the two fierce thugs to suddenly stiffen.
"Hey, what are you two dawdling for?" the thug leader shouted after glancing at them.
Then, to everyone's surprise, the two thugs turned and opened fire directly at their leader.
"Bang bang bang!"
Poorly, the thug leader hadn't even figured out what was happening before he fell into a pool of blood.
The other thugs were stunned, and almost simultaneously, a flash of golden light darted through Lin Chen's eyes again, controlling two more thugs.
For a mont, the hospital erupted with gunshots, creating an unimaginable sight—a gunfight that resembled fratricide as the thugs fired upon one another.
