Chapter 2286: Chapter 2350: I Have a Friend Here

Li Yifei didn’t think too much. He glanced at Wu Youu a few tis and saw that she didn’t react. Li Yifei then continued driving according to the navigation. After another twenty minutes, the two arrived at a relatively secluded location. This area usually only has one bus route, and it’s one of the last few stops. If Wu Youu wanted to co here, she’d normally have to transfer twice via subway and then take a bus, taking more than two hours.

Even driving was slow. Following the directions, Li Yifei drove onto a small road. As soon as they turned onto it, they saw a few cars blocking the road about dozens of ters away, and so people were arguing in front. Wu Youu hurriedly turned and pushed Li Yifei, showing a pleading expression as she said, "Uncle... I have a selfish motive!"

"Hmm?"

"Actually, I want to ask for your help, and... I’m not quite sure what’s going on either..."

"Got it, alright!" Li Yifei nodded, parked the car, unbuckled his seatbelt, and opened the door to get out. When the two arrived, those kind-hearted people had already opened the rescue station’s doors and were loading dogs into the cars they brought. Wu Youu saw a few familiar friends trying to stop them and hurriedly ran over, shouting, "What are you doing? Stop!"

One of the people saw Li Yifei and Wu Youu running over. A person ca over to block Wu Youu and said, "Don’t ddle. Old Lady Xiao killed my dog, so I’m making her compensate

with dogs!"

Speaking was a woman, around thirty years old, with dyed red hair styled in big curls. She had a big and rough build and was wearing a black trench coat. It was dayti, but if she suddenly appeared like this at night, Li Yifei would have kicked her away.

"Youyou, you’re here. Quickly call the police; these people want to steal our dogs!" A girl blocking the door shouted to Wu Youu. The girl’s clothes vaguely had a footprint on them, and she was clutching a bag that seed to be moving. Pair that with the other person’s words, it was obvious that the bag contained either a cat or a dog. The truck behind had several iron cages with dogs locked inside, big and small. Different from dogs that bark loudly at a dog market, these dogs seed quieter.

"Little Yan, I... where’s Aunt Xiao?"

"They just attacked Aunt Xiao. She’s inside. Aunt Xiao’s heart condition acted up. Don’t worry about us, just call the police quickly. These people are fake do-gooders, they’re no different from dog thieves!" The girl nad Little Yan shouted forcefully. Wu Youu’s face changed; she clearly didn’t expect this situation. And just after Little Yan finished shouting, a man in black clothes suddenly jumped out beside them and slapped Little Yan’s face. With a loud smack, Little Yan was knocked to the ground.

Instinctively, Wu Youu turned to look at Li Yifei. With him around, she felt backed up. But if Li Yifei didn’t take action, relying on her alone wouldn’t achieve much.

Li Yifei didn’t let Wu Youu down. He frowned and took two steps forward, facing the woman standing with her hands on her hips, saying, "Move aside!"

The red-haired woman had brought over ten people today, so she wouldn’t be intimidated by Li Yifei’s words. But even as she heard those words, and saw Li Yifei’s face, her heart did falter for one or two seconds. After that, she puffed out her chest, looked provocatively at Li Yifei, and said, "Why should I? Who do you think you are? Let

tell you, I’m taking these dogs today no matter what!"

Li Yifei initially wanted to kick her but refrained from doing so. Instead, he made a sweeping motion with his hand, creating a gust of wind that pushed the red-haired woman aside.

The woman was unsure of what happened; her body involuntarily tilted to the side, scaring her into quickly moving her legs, making way. Li Yifei glanced back at Wu Youu, and she hurriedly followed.

Seeing this, the red-haired woman shouted sharply, "Stop him for !" Upon hearing her words, two n who were holding dogs dropped their bags and walked towards Li Yifei.

"You little punk, told you to mind your business, but you wouldn’t listen, huh?" A man, not even thirty, raised his chin and walked up to Li Yifei, pointing his finger at his face.

"Watch your mouth!" Li Yifei raised his hand and swatted the man’s hand away. With a loud smack, not only was the hand swatted away, but the arrogant man blocking his way also stumbled to the side, almost falling.

"Damn, you little punk still dare hit !" The man with a full beard beside him imdiately got angry, clenched his fist, and swung it at Li Yifei. Li Yifei didn’t dodge or avoid, raised his hand again, and landed it on the man’s face. The slap made the bearded man spin around twice on the spot, only feeling like thunder was booming in his ears, losing his sense of hearing.

"Damn, soone causing trouble, everyone stop catching dogs and beat him down!" Seeing this, the others wouldn’t have it anymore. They all dropped what they were holding and charged at Li Yifei, so picking up iron rods and other weapons.

In total, there were twelve to thirteen people. Excluding the red-haired woman pushed away by Li Yifei and the two n from earlier, the rest also rushed over. There were three won, and the rest were all n. These people rushing together looked quite intimidating. Little Yan, who had just been slapped, turned pale with fright and shouted to Wu Youu, "Youyou, call the police quickly!"

Wu Youu, of course, knew that with Li Yifei’s skills, these people weren’t opponents, so she wasn’t afraid. Not to ntion Li Yifei, even if it were her brother facing these ten or so people, he could easily handle them. The difference between professionals and ordinary people was just too great; she could easily deal with them.

Thinking of this, Wu Youu pursed her lips, intending to bypass these people and go to Little Yan. Just as she was about to move, she saw the red-haired woman pounce at her. Although Wu Youu didn’t move, the red-haired woman developed a hatred for her as well, seizing the opportunity to prepare an ambush.

"I’ll tear you apart, you!" the red-haired woman shouted aggressively as she approached. Although she seed fierce, her height was inherently lacking. Compared to the tall Wu Youu, this woman was probably just over 160 cm, much too short.

Seeing the opponent pounce on her, Wu Youu didn’t panic. She took two steps back, then charged forward, delivering a whip kick that landed right on the red-haired woman’s waist. The move looked impressive, but the force was still inadequate. After the kick, Wu Youu felt so pain in her leg, whereas the red-haired woman’s movents slowed, and she let out an "ouch" as she held her waist and fell to the side.

Having hit accurately, Wu Youu rubbed her nose with her hand, mimicking the manner of Li Xiaolong, and let out an "aah" before giving a provocative look at the opponent. She then strode past the red-haired woman with her long legs. anwhile, in the short ti she acted, Li Yifei had already basically dealt with all the people rushing at him. This scene left Little Yan completely stunned. She couldn’t even see how Li Yifei did it, but he had already dealt with everyone.

A question inevitably arose in Little Yan’s mind—was this a movie?

Li Yifei clapped his hands, as if dusting off the dirt. Such a small action, yet it displayed his confidence. Looking at the people rolling on the ground, Li Yifei strode forward, with Wu Youu quickening her pace to catch up, walking beside him.

Helping Little Yan up, Wu Youu hurriedly asked, "Little Yan, quickly take

to see Aunt Xiao."

"Okay, okay!" The girl called Little Yan nodded repeatedly. Not caring to dust off the dirt on her clothes, she led Wu Youu inside in a run. Li Yifei turned and glanced at those lying on the ground groaning in pain; these people had all taken a hit from him and couldn’t recover for the ti being.

Inside was a courtyard enclosed by iron sheets, not very large, with several iron cages arranged inside. The courtyard was divided front and back, with dogs roaming freely in the front and stray cats and dogs that had just arrived in the back for isolation. Dogs brought by caring individuals were placed here, originally intended to be isolated for a period and given so vaccines. Unexpectedly, they suddenly died en masse, leading those people to co and create a fuss, demanding compensation.

Aunt Xiao originally wanted to compensate and was heartbroken as well. But those people were dissatisfied with the compensation amount. After a few words, they proposed using Aunt Xiao’s dogs as compensation and deliberately picked healthy, large breeds.

The dogs died at Aunt Xiao’s place; she was already heartbroken. The few people at the rescue station were equally saddened. But if they were to take away the dogs they had cared for so long, it would be even harder for them. Moreover, this wasn’t the way to handle the matter.

In the past, animal deaths occasionally occurred at the rescue station, though not in such numbers. So were on the brink of death when brought in, making the chances of survival very low. Considering the costs and dication factors, it was often challenging to save them. Even so, losing even one animal saddened them, and now over ten had died... it was indeed unusual.

Li Yifei walked slowly. Rounding the courtyard, he saw a few people gathered in front of a woman in her fifties or sixties, who had already taken quick-acting heart-saving pills and was starting to recover. This was Aunt Xiao, who had established the rescue station long ago. Initially, she used her modest pension and so past savings to rescue stray animals. Later, as people learned about it, it gradually developed.

Seeing Aunt Xiao’s flushed face, indicating poor health, Wu Youu turned back to Li Yifei and said, "Can you... take a look?"

"Hmm." Li Yifei walked over, and two people beside him moved aside. He reached out his hand—Aunt Xiao’s pulse was weak with irregular beats, clearly a heart problem, so Li Yifei infused her with a stream of True Qi to temporarily stabilize her. However, it would only be effective short-term.

Little Yan still wore a red handprint on her face, but at this mont, she was staring at Li Yifei with wide eyes, not blinking. After Li Yifei finished regulating Aunt Xiao’s health, she shivered, grabbed Wu Youu, and said, "Youyou, isn’t that... isn’t that..."

"It’s him!" Wu Youu understood what Little Yan was about to say. Supporting Aunt Xiao to stand, she comforted, "Aunt Xiao, don’t worry. With my friend here, those people won’t take our dogs!"
