Chapter 2154: Chapter 2217: Facing Difficulties

The car didn’t stop for long. Death was sothing Li Yifei was all too familiar with, and having seen enough already, he didn’t linger. For Zhang Xi, having been in Africa for so many years, he had witnessed countless such incidents and even faced life and death multiple tis himself. Though it wasn’t as chaotic as the Middle East, where soone could rush at you with a bomb at any mont or an attack could happen anyti, here too, war was frequent. For so inexplicable reason, a bloody vendetta could erupt between two tribes, with incidents of village massacres being all too common.

In so countries, anarchy reigned, with warlords and foreign-sponsored factions caught in constant conflict. In others, despite having governnts, there was little difference from having none. The governnt was just crazy for wealth, ignoring the life and death of its people, and so, people who could not tolerate it began to resist.

In such places, whether living or doing anything else, the danger level was extrely high.

The car drove on, and not many people noticed them. Li Yifei took out a cigarette, lit one, and handed the pack to Zhang Xi, but Zhang Xi shook his head and said, "Thank you, Mr. Li, but I’ve quit smoking."

"Okay." Li Yifei didn’t say much. He carried two guns with him and a bunch of steel nails about four inches long, but nothing else. After thinking for a bit, he put the submachine gun in the back seat. If he dared to charge into a place with thousands of people alone, no amount of guns would be enough. Carrying one for self-defense was sufficient.

Li Yifei had no specific plan because even Zhang Xi, who was sowhat familiar with the Nosa Organization, only knew a rough outline and couldn’t be used as a basis. Li Yifei’s first step was to infiltrate, and talk about the rest later.

He was actually sowhat worried, not as confident as he appeared on the surface. He feared those guys might escape, and then Nosa or the Fierce General would start deploying troops, and he wouldn’t be able to stop it. But if they didn’t send anyone, everything would be manageable.

Thus, ti was of the essence. Zhang Xi wasn’t much of a talker, only sharing so of his thoughts along the way, like so rumored peculiar habits of the Fierce General, thods to identify his subordinates, the general composition of those people, besides those captured ones, and the two groups originally from two tribes who couldn’t bear the hunger and directly joined the rebels when they passed by.

Half an hour later, Zhang Xi stopped the car. This was in a valley, relatively secluded. Helping Li Yifei get the motorcycle down, Zhang Xi said, "Mr. Li, I can only get you this far. About ten kiloters ahead is likely the opponent’s defense zone, and the car can’t conveniently go further. I know a small path, but it’s hard to travel, and there are many wild animals. It’s right here, just follow the mountain, and it extends over thirty kiloters. Once you pass this road, you’ll be pretty close to the small town. If they’re entrenched there, then Mr. Li, you’ve found the right place."

Li Yifei looked at the path Zhang Xi indicated. There were still people walking here, with footprints on the muddy road, and even so tire marks. But the track marks were all mostly fine, suggesting they were predominantly motorcycles or bicycles.

Nodding, Li Yifei said, "Alright, I’ll head there now!"

"I will wait here for you. Hmm, Mr. Li, when approximately will you return?"

"If everything goes smoothly, I’ll be back tonight; if not, I’ll return tomorrow," Li Yifei responded.

"Take care!" Zhang Xi cupped his fists in farewell.

Li Yifei gave him a quick smile, straddling the off-road motorcycle. It was an older model, borrowed from a local worker. Such a motorcycle was less likely to attract attention; a new one might be coveted by others.

In a world devoid of order, Li Yifei was actually more familiar than Zhang Xi and the others. He even had acquaintances on the African continent; generally speaking, he had few friends but many enemies. So of those enemies had turned to dust, while others remained. If they found out he had arrived, they would love nothing more than to mince Li Yifei into at paste, assuming they could do so. And as for friends... they might not always be thrilled to see Li Yifei, as his presence generally ant sothing was about to happen.

As was the case this ti, he had barely landed when he encountered bandits, and inexplicably, those bandits ended up dead, ten or so of them. This considerably diminished their combat power, and now another warlord organization was about to have bad luck.

Riding along the mountainside, the road was difficult, but fortunately it was an off-road motorcycle, which could still be managed in this terrain; otherwise, it would have caused delays. It was two hours until dark. At normal riding speed, Li Yifei could reach his destination in an hour, but given the terrain, it would likely take him two to three hours, assuming all went well.

While riding the motorcycle, Li Yifei suddenly stopped because a river, or rather a stream, appeared ahead. Probably due to rain, the river water was very muddy. But this wasn’t why Li Yifei stopped; it was because... there was sothing in the river, and it looked quite deep. The off-road motorcycle couldn’t ride through — it would stall imdiately upon entering.

With a slight perception, Li Yifei knew what was in the water.

Crocodiles, and these were the large African crocodiles, four to five ters long, so even five to six ters. Compared to human size, these creatures were monstrous, with a terrifying bite force. Had he not been in a hurry, Li Yifei might have tried engaging one, maybe even capturing one to bring back for Wu Shuwei to play with...

At this mont, Li Yifei had no interest in such distractions. After pondering for a mont, he unleashed his aura, scaring away the hidden crocodiles in the river. Then he carried the motorcycle across the water. The water ca up to his neck, so Li Yifei had to lift the motorcycle with one hand while crossing.

If soone saw this, they might be stunned.

This was just a small incident; in such desolate areas, countless wild animals were bound to be present. Li Yifei encountered several species and, when passing by a mountain village he had intended to avoid, he found that the village was empty, seemingly everyone taken away.

Checking the distance he had traveled, Li Yifei knew he was close. Indeed, a few minutes later, he exited the mountain pass onto a plain. By this ti, it had grown dark. From two to three kiloters away, he could still see, with clarity, bunker-like structures on both sides, with lights indicating people inside.

After considering, Li Yifei decided to proceed, passing between the two bunkers. Upon entry, he discovered it was farmland, but it had been long abandoned.

Li Yifei charged straight through without stopping, prompting those inside the bunkers to rush out and fire at his direction. But as Li Yifei had turned off his lights, the bullets rely traced lines of light behind him.

After breaking through the first checkpoint, he encountered two more, which he bypassed in the sa manner. Upon further progress, he hid his bike, now on the outskirts of the town. It had indeed been occupied. Li Yifei climbed to the rooftop of a two-story building for a better view, surrounded by a cacophony of sounds — curses, cries, even YD sounds. Beneath him, inside the two-story building, a man was engaging in misconduct that Li Yifei could clearly hear. The man spoke in a mix of native language and English. Inspired, Li Yifei jumped onto the second-floor balcony and, through the nearly nonexistent windows, saw inside — a dark-skinned man, and under him a slightly lighter-skinned woman, struggling in vain as the man pressed hard...

Li Yifei had no intention of disrupting the man’s enjoynt, but he needed information, and he had to understand the situation better.

A minute later, Li Yifei appeared inside the man’s house, holding a knife he had found there. He tapped the man’s back with the blade, causing the man, who had been engrossed in his actions, to stiffen suddenly. Instinctively turning around, he saw Li Yifei watching him with a smile.

In the darkness, the man couldn’t clearly see Li Yifei’s appearance; similarly, Li Yifei couldn’t quite make out the man’s features initially either, as the resolution was too low. After observing for a bit, he finally saw the man’s face clearly — he was not an older man, but a young one. The man imdiately demanded, "Who are you, what do you want?"

The woman under him opened her mouth to scream, but Li Yifei subdued her with a stream of True Qi, knocking her out.

"You’d better behave," Li Yifei gestured with his chin, indicating he had a knife and the other had better comply. The man understood, his face jittering, and nodded slightly, saying, "As long as you don’t hurt , I won’t do anything stupid."

"Good. If you can answer so questions, I might spare you," Li Yifei replied.

In the darkness, he appeared tall and imposing. The man couldn’t see his face clearly and replied, "Who are you?"

"? I’m..." The man’s eyes flickered. Li Yifei chuckled and struck the man’s arm with the knife’s hilt, causing him to cry out and fall to his knees. Then Li Yifei reached under the pillow, pulled out a handgun, removed the safety, and pressed it against the man’s head, his expression turning cold as he said, "I warned you to be honest, but you didn’t listen!"

"Oh God, I’m sorry, I didn’t an any harm. I just... what do you want to know, I’ll tell you everything."

"Your na?"

"Jimms, Panini. Sir, you can just call

Jimms."

"Good, what’s your identity?" Li Yifei asked while examining the room’s layout.

"I’m a local, from this town!" Jimms raised his hands; the other man had a gun, and he didn’t dare move recklessly.
