Chapter 1972: Chapter 2035: eting in Vienna
If it had been the old Xu Yingying, she would never have said these words to disturb Li Yifei’s mindset. But after becoming a mother, Xu Yingying’s way of thinking quietly changed. Upon hearing that Li Yifei was going to a life-and-death battle with the Saintess, Xu Yingying’s first reaction was if sothing happened to Li Yifei, then the child would be born without a father, which was absolutely unacceptable.
However, she realized her words were problematic, so she quickly redied, "Honey, I didn’t an it that way. Anyway, for the sake of the child and us, you must win."
"Of course, how could I lose? Anyone who wants to kill
will never succeed. Now, she and I are no longer lovers or friends, but enemies, and I must defeat her." Li Yifei’s eyes flickered, and a hint of killing intent appeared on his face. Even though he sotis joked when talking to the Saintess, at the end of the day, she was soone who wanted to kill him. Deep down, Li Yifei was clear-headed and would never be lenient to anyone who wanted to kill him.
At ho, the reactions to his Worms from the ladies varied, but on the surface, they all ca to comfort him. Behind the scenes, so won, who hadn’t been pampered recently or couldn’t because of their periods, were slightly unhappy but accepted the reality.
"Hu... honey!" Na Yi found Li Yifei, her eyes red, holding a box. She approached Li Yifei, who was holding Jiang Ningxiang’s child, and handed him the bottle in her hand, revealing strong anticipation in her eyes.
"Hmm? What’s this?" Li Yifei freed a hand to take the bottle and asked.
Na Yi explained, "This is a dicine I prepared. Elder Yao Lingfu said it can temporarily suppress the Worms!"
"Oh?" Li Yifei’s eyes lit up. He was aware of Na Yi’s previous efforts in cultivating dicines. He took it, saying, "You developed it so quickly?"
"Well... there was still so ti needed, but since your Worms acted up last night, I thought it might be worth a try, so I quickly prepared it."
Li Yifei handed the child to Jiang Ningxiang, walked up to Na Yi, embraced her, and rubbed her hair, saying affectionately, "Silly girl, there’s no rush. You could have prepared it after a good sleep. Why did you have to make it overnight?"
"I... I just wanted you to get better soon." Na Yi’s eyes reddened, and Li Yifei quickly patted her back, comforting, "I don’t bla you, and neither does anyone else. I an it. Besides, you might not know, but I’m about to fight soone very powerful. The Worms’ resurgence could be very beneficial to ."
Although he didn’t fully understand what the Worms were, they would never let Li Yifei face danger alone. If he died, the Worms would perish too. So, like last ti, when Li Yifei’s life was threatened, the Worms would undoubtedly lend a helping hand.
This was one of Li Yifei’s life-saving tricks. Although it ant suspending certain sacred yet joyful activities with his wives for a short ti, Li Yifei could accept it.
When Na Yi heard about this, she quickly said, "Then let’s not take the dicine yet. We can take it after your fight, okay?"
Li Yifei thought for a mont, nodded, and said, "Sure, otherwise, if the Worms are suppressed, I’ll lose a life-saving tool."
"Mm-hmm." Na Yi smiled with her lips pressed together, nodding vigorously. Hearing Li Yifei’s words, she felt a bit better, as at least it ant the Li family ladies wouldn’t be too upset with her.
The young girl, being alone in the Li family, had gradually integrated herself into the household over the past months. But due to the Worms, she was still sowhat apprehensive. Usually, she was fine, but once the Worms erupted, she imdiately felt like the culprit.
"Have you had breakfast?"
"No..."
"Co on, let’s have breakfast, and then you can go back and catch up on sleep. No matter how urgent things are, you shouldn’t stay up all night." Li Yifei said, holding Na Yi’s hand, turned back to bid Jiang Ningxiang and her child goodbye, leading Na Yi to breakfast.
After breakfast, Li Yifei took Na Yi back to her room, urging her to rest. Looking at the dicine in his hand, Li Yifei was tempted to take it imdiately to test its efficacy. However, he held back, deciding that after his battle with the Saintess, it wouldn’t be too late to take it. After all, he wasn’t sure of the Saintess’s true strength, and having an extra life-saving asure was always beneficial.
The ladies of the Li family had long accepted Na Yi. Even if so still felt a bit resentful, they didn’t show it. Ignorance is no cri, and Na Yi never intended to cause this situation.
Just as Li Yifei stepped out the door, he saw Worm King Xiaowu fluttering back. Li Yifei smiled and greeted, but the little butterfly acted as if it hadn’t seen him, flying right past.
Li Yifei found himself unwelco and shook his head as he walked away; perhaps Xiaowu was displeased with him. After all, at Na Yi’s request, Xiaowu was now flying out every day to collect flower essences to make costics for the won at ho, which was definitely a humiliation for the Worm King.
Three days passed in a flash, and Li Yifei started planning his trip to Vienna. A few days ago, he didn’t know where to go for this fight, and Vienna just popped into his head. He ntioned it casually, and the Saint Lady agreed, even though she couldn’t say for certain where either.
That day, Li Yifei helped Su Lio suppress the cold, and in the evening, he joined his family for a bonfire party. As the head chef, he grilled food all night, and everyone in the family had a great ti.
The next day, Li Yifei embarked on his journey alone, bringing no one along. Initially, Su ngxin and others suggested having Sophia or Xu Shanshan accompany him, but Li Yifei refused.
"I promise I’ll return safely," Li Yifei assured the won at ho.
Vienna is located in a basin at the northern foot of the Alps Mountains, covering an area of 414.65 square kiloters. It’s Austria’s smallest federal state and the only one not adjacent to other countries. Because of Vienna’s prominent position, it boasts the largest traffic and building area in Austria.
The na Vienna is always associated with music. Many music masters such as Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Johann Strauss’s father and son, and Brahms spent many years of their musical careers here. Through Haydn’s "Emperor Quartet," Mozart’s "The Marriage of Figaro," Beethoven’s "Symphony of Destiny," "Pastoral Symphony," "Moonlight Sonata," "Heroic Symphony," Schubert’s "Swan Song," "Winter’s Journey," Johann Strauss’s "The Blue Danube," "Tales from the Vienna Woods," etc., famous compositions were born here. Many parks and squares are adorned with their statues, and nurous streets, halls, and conference rooms are nad after these musicians. The musicians’ forr residences and tombs attract visitors all year round.
Li Yifei and the Saint Lady t here, at the Vienna State Opera. The Saint Lady held two tickets; she had arrived alone, purchasing two tickets ahead of ti and led Li Yifei to see the opera after they t.
Looking at the tickets, Li Yifei teased, "How about we catch a movie instead? I heard there’s a recent epic disaster film out that’s supposed to be really good."
"Taste, where’s your taste! You’re now the clan chief of a billion-dollar family," the Saint Lady chastised him, her tone slightly annoyed by his lackluster deanor.
Li Yifei pinched his nose and nodded, "Alright, we’ll go with your suggestion and enjoy sothing classy today — an opera. But let
warn you, I’m just a commoner, so if I don’t understand, you can’t make fun of !"
"It’s my first ti in Vienna and the Vienna State Opera, so... you have to indulge
this once," the Saint Lady said earnestly.
"Alright, alright, I’ll indulge you." Li Yifei’s words carried dual anings, which the Saint Lady imdiately understood. Her charming eyes glanced at him as she replied, "Defeat , and you can have whatever you want."
"Ha ha." Li Yifei laughed loudly, drawing curious looks from others. The Saint Lady nudged him and scolded, "Keep your voice down!"
"I’m itching to have a fight with you; you did say I could do as I please if you lose. The thought of taking liberties with the Saint Lady excites
to no end, almost to the point of..." Li Yifei abruptly stopped himself, noticing the Saint Lady’s gaze had shifted.
Looking at him, the Saint Lady didn’t imdiately retort. After a good half-minute, she simply snorted softly, her voice sowhat icy, "Are we watching the opera or not?"
"Yes, of course we are. I haven’t seen one before either," Li Yifei quickly changed his tune.
Only then did the Saint Lady continue to walk inside, widening the gap between her and Li Yifei. He chuckled and followed her. As they were entering and getting their tickets checked, a man suddenly rushed over from the side. From his appearance, he seed East Asian, with yellow skin, black hair, and black eyes. Though not very tall, about 1.7 ters, and with a lean build, his eyes shone brightly. The mont he appeared, Li Yifei understood he was heading straight for the Saint Lady.
As expected, the man jumped in front of the Saint Lady, making him appear even shorter beside her. Still, he didn’t seem to care about this, blocking her way with a broad smile and said, "Hello, esteed lady."
Out of politeness, the Saint Lady nodded but took a step back, increasing the distance between them.
The man blocking them was called Song Qingshu, also a Huaxia person. While queueing amidst the crowd, Song had spotted the Saint Lady and Li Yifei, and seeing a strikingly beautiful European and Arican woman with a Huaxia person made his eyes light up, almost drooling over her.
The Saint Lady was dressed in a simple denim outfit, with knee-high leather boots, exuding an unyielding aura and a style very much in line with European and Arican street fashion. Even Li Yifei’s eyes had lit up upon seeing her earlier, which led to his playful teasing.
