Chapter 1454: Chapter 1503: Flying to Japan
Japan, Li Yifei ca this ti with a legal identity. After getting off the plane, a car was already waiting for him outside the airport. The driver was a Japanese who spoke Chinese, though not very well. Li Yifei sat in the back, looking at the scenery outside. The driver didn’t say much; he was only hired to pick up Li Yifei and take him to his destination.
This was not the final destination. Li Yifei’s figure quickly disappeared down a small path. Shortly after he vanished, several Japanese erged from the spot where he had been, yelling back and forth, and searched for a long ti without finding Li Yifei, finally having to call back with frustration.
An hour later, Li Yifei appeared in a small inn.
This was arranged by Sophia, who ca to Japan a few days ago to help Li Yifei with many things, including organizing a safe place to stay and gathering information about ng Xiaofei.
Li Yifei wasn’t foolish. He couldn’t just take Yanagio Inujiro’s words at face value. With Sophia working secretly, Li Yifei was able to get so useful information as soon as he arrived in Japan.
Li Yifei first had a bowl of noodles at a nearby place before returning to the inn, opening the window slightly, and resting his eyes.
After nine in the evening, Sophia slipped in through the window and closed it casually.
"Master!" Sophia greeted respectfully.
Li Yifei opened his eyes, glanced at Sophia, and said, "Are you hurt?"
Sophia shook her head and said, "It’s nothing serious. I encountered a few wandering warriors when I first arrived in Japan and got into a fight with them."
Li Yifei frowned, and Sophia explained, "It was aningful this ti. I confird from those wandering warriors that ng Xiaofei is indeed not in the hands of the Yamaguchi Group; she was sent to Yanagio Inujiro as soon as she arrived."
Only then did Li Yifei relax his eyebrows, nodded, and said, "It’s good to have confird this news; it saves
from being overly cautious."
It turned out Li Yifei hadn’t trusted Yanagio Inujiro’s words, nor even Koboto Kobayashi, hence Sophia was arranged to co to Japan in advance.
Sophia continued, "Indeed, Koboto Kobayashi’s ntion of Motoharu has ulterior motives. He is gathering a large number of masters, preparing to kill you, Master, so he can then kill Koboto Kobayashi."
Li Yifei didn’t mind Sophia ntioning killing him, but asked, "So, Koboto Kobayashi is quite loyal?"
Sophia furrowed her brows and replied, "Fairly loyal, but after all, he is Japanese..."
With that, Li Yifei understood everything, chuckled, and said, "He is allowed to have his own motives, as long as he doesn’t disrupt our plan, it’s all negotiable."
Sophia nodded repeatedly, saying, "Master, I’ve heard so other information."
"Speak."
"Rumor has it that Yanagio Inujiro has lived for over a hundred years, but every ti he appears before the world, he still looks quite young. So, many Japanese masters praise him as a god. But there’s another rumor that he practices so evil kung fu, so Master, you should be wary."
Li Yifei chuckled and shook his head, saying, "I will take note of these. Thank you for your hard work."
Sophia shook her head and said, "It’s not hard at all. Too bad I’ve only been here a short ti, the information I’ve found isn’t particularly useful."
"At least it’s proven that Xiaofei is really with Yanagio Inujiro, which is good enough. Rest up these two days, and I’ll adjust myself too. In three days, I’ll go find Yanagio Inujiro. Look for the right opportunity to rescue Xiaofei. If things go smoothly on my side, we’ll leave together; if not, take Xiaofei and hide her first."
Sophia imdiately changed her expression, understanding what Li Yifei ant: he plans to distract Yanagio Inujiro to buy her ti to rescue ng Xiaofei.
Understanding this, Sophia quickly said, "Master, don’t, I..."
Li Yifei raised his hand to stop Sophia, smiling lightly, "I’m not going to die and certainly won’t let you be the one to stall Yanagio Inujiro. The fact that I dare to co to Japan ans I have so confidence. If I can’t beat him, I can certainly outrun him. But the important thing is to rescue Xiaofei. So far, only allowing you to do it puts
at ease."
Li Yifei hadn’t considered bringing Xu Shanshan along. Xu Shanshan had cultivation, but although she’d trained with rcenaries for a while and had been taught by Yao Lingfu and others, her combat skills were still far inferior to Sophia.
Sophia’s mouth moved, not knowing what to say, but Li Yifei continued, "Don’t feel pressured. Our goal is to save people. As for Yanagio Inujiro, if I can win, I will fight, if I can’t, I’ll do my best to stall him and make sure you succeed. Once you do, I’ll run."
Sophia knew very well about Li Yifei’s character. He wasn’t soone who would lightly speak about fleeing, but given he said so this ti, it truly showed the significant pressure Yanagio Inujiro brought. However, Sophia didn’t perceive Li Yifei announcing a retreat before the fight as cowardice. It was the most reasonable approach.
Sophia felt sowhat stirred, her blue eyes fixed on Li Yifei, "Master, you must rember what you just said; absolutely don’t fight him head-on. I will rescue Xiaofei as soon as possible and inform you imdiately once I succeed."
Li Yifei laughed, nodded, and said, "This is just the last resort. Maybe Yanagio Inujiro is famous without deserving it, and before you rescue Xiaofei, I might have already killed him."
Sophia smiled faintly, her face still worried. She secretly clenched her fist, vowing to rescue ng Xiaofei quickly and avoid Li Yifei facing too much danger.
After talking for a while, Li Yifei stood up and walked to Sophia’s side. Sophia stepped back awkwardly and lowered her head.
Li Yifei understood her aning and said, "I’ll check your wound. If you have dication, I’ll help you apply it. I don’t an anything else."
"No... that’s not what I ant." Sophia felt a bit embarrassed because the location of her injury was inconvenient to show, even though she had said she’d surrender to Li Yifei if she couldn’t beat him.
Li Yifei didn’t pressure Sophia but instead asked, "Do you think the injury will heal within three days?"
Sophia shook her head and directly pulled down her pants.
The injury was at the base of her thigh, on the inner side. Li Yifei glanced at it, and although unclear about the situation at the ti, he knew those Japanese ruffians must have had significant skills to wound Sophia.
"Sit on the bed, let
clean the wound," Li Yifei said and walked out first.
Sophia couldn’t bring her darts onto the plane, so she didn’t have them this ti around. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have gotten injured, and Li Yifei wouldn’t have had to find a knife.
Sitting on the bed, Sophia lifted her wounded leg onto the bed’s edge, glanced down, and felt a bit embarrassed. It was an emotion she rarely experienced, almost forgotten since becoming an assassin.
She grabbed the torn pants and covered a certain area.
Li Yifei returned and crouched in front of Sophia to check her wound.
Sophia’s wound was punctured by a ninja dart. The peculiar shape of the dart made the wound large and deep, which was fortunate for her; a regular person might not even be able to walk.
The wound had begun to show signs of infection. It seed the ninja dart had poison on it. Luckily, the toxin wasn’t strong, just hindering Sophia’s wound healing, as she didn’t have True Qi to expel the poison.
Typically, Sophia would have used a knife to carve out the wound directly. But thinking of the upcoming mission, she endured the pain.
Understanding this, Li Yifei felt quite sympathetic towards Sophia.
Using True Qi to seal the acupoints on Sophia’s leg, he reduced the pain and then carefully cut out the infected area with a small knife, assisting with True Qi for the healing process.
To Li Yifei’s surprise, a thread of Innate Vital Energy from his body erged and entered Sophia’s body, aiding in the healing.
With this Innate Vital Energy, Li Yifei felt reassured. This energy was incredibly miraculous. Sophia initially watched Li Yifei’s work with open eyes, finding his cool deanor exceptionally gentle at the mont. Her heart stirred with strange emotions, so she promptly closed her eyes.
After a while, she felt a tingling sensation on the inner side of her thigh, like being gently stroked by a large hand. She quickly opened her eyes but saw Li Yifei behaving properly, not touching unnecessarily.
A few minutes later, Li Yifei finished treating her wound and said, "Wait here, I’ll go out and buy so gauze and dication."
Li Yifei stood up to leave, although Sophia wanted to say, "Master, don’t bother, it’s fine now," but the words wouldn’t co out.
Sophia even harbored a delusion that besides Golden Eagle’s won, perhaps only she in the world could enjoy his tenderness.
Looking down at her wound, Sophia was a bit dazed. Li Yifei had carefully removed the infected tissue, leaving the wound a rosy pink that didn’t seem terrifying; Sophia found it sowhat soothing. Suddenly, a thought popped into her head that she wished if she got injured again, Li Yifei would treat her this way.
Startled by her own thoughts, Sophia hurriedly shook her head.
Li Yifei ca in with gauze and dication, noticed her shaking her head, and asked with slight surprise, "What’s wrong?"
Sophia looked up and said, "Oh, nothing. Master, why are you back so quickly?"
Li Yifei shook the dicine in his hand and said, "The drugstore is right across from the inn, so I bought them imdiately."
Sophia nodded, and Li Yifei squatted down, applied the dicine, and bandaged Sophia’s wound.
When bandaging, he couldn’t avoid touching her leg. Sophia was well-trained for years, her body was very fit, and her legs weren’t like typical European and Arican won’s—although long, their thighs can be thick. Sophia’s legs were straight and well-proportioned from top to bottom.
