Chapter 909: Chapter 914: Raising a Son, Forgetting the Parents

Invite the seniors of China’s Martial Arts circle to attend the Martial Hall opening ceremony!

Of course Lin Feng remembered this; the only reason he hadn’t done it yet was that the timing just wasn’t right.

You have to understand, if you want to invite those seniors from the Martial Arts world to attend the ceremony and even get them to show some real skills, money alone won’t cut it!

If Lin Feng were just a businessman reeking of copper, no matter how much he paid, he still wouldn’t get those old men to agree to come. In fact, Lin Feng might not even be able to find the contact info for those seniors of the martial arts world...

After all, Lin Feng wasn’t like that small county in West Xinjiang that hosted the Tianshan Martial Arts Conference. At least that was an official event; those seniors could show up as a favor, which was understandable.

If someone like Lin Feng invited them, the person delivering the invitation might not even get past the mountain gate.

Lin Feng had to get a highly respected figure to invite those seniors of the martial arts world on his behalf!

Right now, Lin Feng already had a very good candidate in mind: Xu Jing’s grandfather, the Hong Sect former master, Xu Yishan!

As the former master of the Hong Sect, Xu Yishan’s reputation spoke for itself. Basically everyone on both the black and white sides of China should have heard his name. Not to mention that Xu Yishan himself was an Innate expert at fifth layer of Inner Strength. In this era where Nei Family experts were extremely rare, an Innate expert was pretty much even rarer than a national treasure!

Lin Feng had no doubt that Xu Yishan had the clout to summon a response from the entire Chinese Martial Arts circle. Also, this Longfeng Martial Hall might be operated by Lin Feng for now, but in reality, it was a gift from Ning Fuxun to the Hong Sect!

Although the Hong Sect didn’t have management rights, they held fifty percent of the profit. This was the share Ning Fuxun had promised to give back to the Hong Sect!

The property alone was worth over a billion, and even with the hall not yet open, fifty percent of the shares were worth five to six hundred million. With the Hong Sect having accepted such a lavish gift, it was only natural for the former master Xu Yishan to put in some effort when the Martial Hall opened!

Besides, Lin Feng was also very sure that Xu Jing’s grandfather, that old rascal, definitely loved this kind of lively occasion... There would absolutely be no problem on Xu Yishan’s side!

The only problem was that Lin Feng had just recently brought Wu Mei along and thoroughly pissed off Xu Jing. He had no idea if Xu Jing’s anger had cooled yet and basically didn’t dare see her again...

If he finally went to their place with great difficulty, and before he could even strike a deal with Xu Yishan, Xu Jing messed things up, wouldn’t that be a wasted opportunity?!

Lin Feng was quite conflicted.

"I’ll handle this matter myself..." Although he was troubled, Lin Feng didn’t dump more pressure on Zhu Xiuyue. He promised her very firmly, "You just take care of the other affairs."

"Okay..." Zhu Xiuyue could tell something was off in Lin Feng’s eyes, but she had no better idea. As an ordinary person, she had very limited access to matters of the Martial Arts world, so there was no way she could offer Lin Feng better advice.

"Oh right, Brother Feng, you beat that Jiang Youdao so badly last time. He probably won’t let it go so easily. You need to be careful of his retaliation..." Zhu Xiuyue reminded Lin Feng in the end.

"Retaliation? I’m supposed to be afraid of him retaliating?" Lin Feng smiled disdainfully. "If he doesn’t want to die, he’d best not do that, or he’ll learn what it means to slam into an iron plate..."

Lin Feng was about to say a few more words to Zhu Xiuyue when he suddenly heard his phone ring in his pocket. He took it out and saw that it was the home landline; his father, Lin Zhonghua, was probably looking for him. Lin Feng gave an embarrassed smile and said, "I need to take this."

Lin Feng walked out to the door with the phone and casually picked up.

"Lin Feng, your mom says you haven’t come home to eat in a long time! Today Tang Rou came over to cook for you. You should come back and have dinner..."

On the other end was Lin Zhonghua’s stern voice, and what he said left Lin Feng a bit speechless...

Tang Rou was at his house again?! This time she probably hadn’t gone there on her own, right? Lin Feng understood this girl Tang Rou. As long as she could get in touch with him, she would never force herself to go to his place, since facing his elders would be pretty awkward...

And the reason Tang Rou showed up today was probably because his father, Lin Zhonghua, had his mother, Jiang Xiuyun, call and invite her over!

Lin Feng recalled what Lin Zhonghua had said to him in the car not long ago: "Your mom and I have already set our minds on Tang Rou..."

So they really had set their minds on Tang Rou!

Lin Feng felt a faint toothache. Tilting his head, he stole a glance at Xue Qingyi, then forced out a very unnatural, "Okay, I’ll come home for dinner tonight!"

"Just come back by yourself. Don’t bring anyone you shouldn’t bring. You know what I mean!" Lin Zhonghua instructed him in a very icy tone.

"I know..." There was nothing Lin Feng could do about Lin Zhonghua’s attitude. The elderly were traditional after all. He might not be able to control what Lin Feng did outside, but at home, Lin Zhonghua still had his own stance.

However, even if the choice were up to Lin Feng, he wouldn’t be stupid enough to bring another girl home to go head??to??head with Tang Rou. It wasn’t like he had any problem with Tang Rou, so why make things so ugly...

After hanging up, Lin Feng checked the time and saw it was already past four in the afternoon. Worried that Tang Rou might feel awkward being alone with his parents, he said a quick word to Xue Qingyi and the others, entrusted them with looking after the Ning Aoxue sisters and Li Liping in the villa next door, then drove straight back to the Lin Family home.

When Lin Feng walked through the door, Lin Zhonghua was sitting on the sofa reading the newspaper.

Even seated on the soft sofa, Lin Zhonghua kept his back ramrod straight without leaning on the backrest. When he heard the door open, he looked up at Lin Feng and suddenly realized how much Lin Feng had changed in the past six months. Not only were his muscles firmer, he also looked much taller and more upright.

"Good kid, sending you to the Falcon Squad for training was indeed the right choice. You now, with all that killing aura on you, this is what a son of mine, Lin Zhonghua, should look like!" Lin Zhonghua looked at Lin Feng with a beaming smile, speaking in a calm tone.

Old man, you don’t have much killing aura yourself... Lin Feng kept a smile on his face, but he was quietly complaining in his heart.

After being an officer for so many years, Lin Zhonghua hadn’t trained his body for a long time. His figure had inevitably gone slightly out of shape, and with a few obvious strands of white hair on his head making him look a bit aged, he naturally didn’t have much killing aura.

"Where’s Tang Rou?" Lin Feng glanced around the living room, didn’t see Tang Rou, and casually asked.

"Sure enough, raise a son and he forgets his parents..." Lin Zhonghua shook his head in displeasure. "You brat, you come back and the first thing you ask is Tang Rou. Don’t you know how to show a little courtesy?"

"We’re all family, what’s the point of courtesy..." Lin Feng chuckled. Even though it had been over half a year, he still couldn’t quite bring himself to call Lin Zhonghua "Dad." Deep in his heart there was an inexplicable sense of unfamiliarity that left him somewhat at a loss.
