——Cursed energy.

The Blood of the World, an incomplete Genesis power, a limited ’power of wish fulfillnt’... the currency of all things.

It undoubtedly holds trendous value. But this doesn’t an that just by acquiring cursed energy, one will instantly beco a great Sage or gain omnipotent transcendent powers to act recklessly.

Just as discovering oil requires very complex technology to transform it into wealth, finding nuclear material doesn’t an you can just throw it out there and kill people.

Even if you build a Curse Cellar and obtain cursed energy, it certainly doesn’t an you can imdiately use that cursed energy.

——So, what exactly does the Society of the Extre North plan to do with the cursed energy?

From the very beginning, Annan was aware of this problem.

Initially, he thought they might be using it to create "Satiety Gold," mass-producing Gold-rank Transcendents. Though this plan had a weird sense of wasteful extravagance, like using a gold mine for arrowheads, it appeared sowhat feasible.

But later, Annan realized that "Satiety Gold" seed to be more of a taphor.

They were not truly planning to use cursed energy to create nightmares.

They definitely did not possess the technology to build sophisticated cursed energy dispersal machines—sothing the Elves had researched in the desert for ages before finally developing.

The luminous "streetlights" in the Elves’ cities, which automatically glow when filled with water, are actually complex machines that highly activate cursed energy through a "dispersal chanism."

They are machines that specialize inert cursed energy in different directions.

Cursed energy used to create consumables, maintain the residents’ health, process precision instrunts, create transcendent equipnt, and massively produce buildings.

Those differing "colors" of cursed energy are actually due to the direction in which the cursed energy has been specialized, adapting it for use in different machines.

The splendid cursed energy civilization created by the Elves is not a barbaric creation that cos from just pumping a tube of cursed energy and thinking hard.

Even if the Society of the Extre North successfully constructs a Curse Cellar,

how will they then transform and activate the extracted inert cursed energy?

Now, the actions of Earl Yury... finally explained Annan’s doubts.

In an instant, Annan thought of the bottle he had found in the Elven ruins, the [Saint’s Bone Extract (Justice)].

It was the "Dragon Blood liquor" made by the Elven aunt who soaked the Saint’s Bones in alcohol... Bofis’s mother.

Annan was curious at the ti.

Why... did traces of cursed energy appear in the Dragon Sleep potion used to store the Heart of Justice?

Creating Dragon Sleep potions does not require the involvent of cursed energy.

And Bofis’s mother, who preserved the Heart of Justice because she might temporarily not gain its recognition, had sealed it near herself.

She was even less likely to inject cursed energy into the Dragon Sleep potion—if the potion’s effect was disrupted, the sealed Saint’s Bones would break free.

...Now, Annan finally understood.

It wasn’t about injecting cursed energy into the "Dragon Sleep potion" that stored the Saint’s Bones.

——but rather using the extract from the Saint’s Bones as a catalyst to activate inert cursed energy!

The old man drew a deep breath, his pupils gradually filling with faint gold particles.

Sothing materialized before him.

——It was an epheral object, white with a honeycomb pattern of gold hexagons.

They started to form the shape of a wall, then the white background and golden lattice shattered and dispersed, revealing a wall of incredibly sturdy steel—completed with sharp, dark spikes. Anyone charging at it would likely be skewered into a hedgehog in an instant.

"...Foolish creation."

Zorgen didn’t hesitate at all.

Without a word, he reached out his right hand toward the old man behind the wall and clenched forcefully!

Without any visibility... like a demon-plant bristling with spikes, a shadowy flower suddenly blood beneath the old man, biting down and anchoring him in place.

After that, a spine-like Ice Thorn Spear violently shot out from the center of the flower, penetrating the old man’s body like tofu in an instant!

This was the conjoined ability of the Hunter’s shadow trap with the Frostborn’s Ice Thorn Spear—the forr could summon pre-constructed shadow monsters from the enemy’s shadow, while the latter could call out sharp, hard ice spears from a specific location after a short delay.

For the Hunter, the shadow trap is rely a short-term control skill to distract the enemy... while the surging Ice Thorn Spear, except in large-scale battles, almost never hits the target.

But if these two abilities are used together, they beco an almost certain assassination technique—combined with the Master of Murder’s damage bonus on "enemies who can’t see themselves," just the first strike instantly killed Earl Yury!

Seeing their own teammate take down the boss in an instant left the players stunned for a mont.

...But the battle was not over.

"——Killing is pointless."

The old man, with half his head shattered, couldn’t even open his mouth.

This was said in unison by the remaining four, "The will of the Snake exists within all rings."

Without prior agreent, they all revealed a kind smile and synchronously opened the safety valve.

Along with a hissing sound like opening a can of cola, the activated gaseous cursed energy flowed through the breathing apparatus and was inhaled into their bodies. Drawing on previous experience, a golden grid on a white base erged around them, which quickly turned transparent, enveloping them within.

The old man’s remaining half of his head smiled... burning in the golden flas, turning to ashes.

And before he died, he perford his second, and last creation—

In an instant, the entire barrier was filled with endless white light.

It was not that light had been created.

But a kind of dust that was omnipresent, continuously radiating light but not affecting sight, had been created.

The whole world turned into a pure white.

They looked like they were standing on a void-like grey-black floor, with an enemy standing at each corner. And all of their shadows had completely disappeared.

—Just a counterattack before death completely sealed off the abilities of the shadow series.

"...That’s more like it."

Charge couldn’t help but say, "I feel like it’s exam day at Teyvat."

"Shush!"

Xitan Pulan signaled him to be quiet.

"Actually, you could say a few more words."

The girl revealed a kindly smile and said with a light chuckle, "There’s not much ti left for you."

Around the four of them, traces of that golden grid on white base erged again—but this ti, it dissipated in a flash, and nurous swords and blades materialized beside them.

"Where did this glittering gold co from..."

The wandering child was not only startled.

Each one was a divine weapon.

Shining with a deadly dazzling brilliance.

The mont they were created, without any pause, they traced their trajectories and shot towards everyone from all directions!

But before that.

"Blood of the Frostborn—"

Traces of frost-white seeped out of Annan’s scepter, rapidly constructing an ornate hollow frost tower around them, enveloping everyone within.

Annan gripped the tricolor scepter, uttering an ancient, unheard chant:

"—Tower of Heaven!"

The Tower of Frost appeared out of nowhere.

These sharp and swift divine weapons struck the walls of the frost tower, leaving pits less than half a centiter deep before being ruthlessly shaken off.

"Aweso!"

Charge shouted loudly, "They could not penetrate our armor!"

But Annan was frowning deeply.

The fact that marks were left ant that the attack had exceeded Silver rank destructive power—the defense of the Tower of Frost was sufficient to reduce Silver rank attack power to zero. However, these thousands of blades, shooting out, were visibly thinning the walls of the Tower of Frost.

"The power to create everything, huh..."

Zoya looked pale.

She was getting a bit nervous.

But Bofis showed not the slightest sign of panic.

His pinky ring had been activated—the curse patterns completely covered his entire left arm and most of his face. Winding and curling like wolf totems, the black symbols etched onto his body even added thick black eyeshadow to the corners of his eyes.

"The ’Earls’ are very in sync, and they’re getting familiar with the power of cursed energy.

"But they lack combat experience. That’s our chance."

Bofis spoke succinctly and quickly, "And it takes ti to create cursed constructs... the forms depend on imagination and knowledge.

"We can’t wait any longer!

"We must combine forces, to reduce their numbers first—"
