"In other words, mistakes generate change. This world has beco lifeless, chanical, and icy cold precisely because machine servants only do the ’right thing,’ and in most cases, there is only one optimal solution—aning this world will no longer have ’change,’ since everything is predictable."
"When the machine servants had masters, the process of ’making mistakes’ could be fulfilled by their masters, while they were responsible for perfecting and maintaining. But if this world is left with only machine servants that just maintain normal operations, and they have completely lost their purpose, then they would continue to sustain the daily functioning until the world ets its end."
"Jason was shaken by Ofelia’s concept."
"He finally revealed to Ofelia the solution to all this—he held the secret key to ending this era in his hands."
"Having sensibility, Jason did not maintain the sa life as other machine servants. He kept doing his best to continue researching and learning, and although he could not use most of the facilities in this world, with the passage of ti, he finally developed the program that his ’father’ used to awaken him."
"The truth is, the underlying code of these machine servants is consistent with Jason’s, and they were ant to be in Jason’s form from the very beginning. Rather than saying soone used so code to awaken their humanity, it’s more accurate to say it’s about removing so kind of Curse Binding, restoring the sensibility that was blocked from them."
"As long as Ofelia can plug it into the cold chanical interfaces, she could ’stigmatize’ them into beings with sensibility, their true form. Jason referred to this as the ’Awakening Code’."
"Forcing the installation of a third-party illegal program would imdiately put the machine servants into battle mode. But they are the only ones who won’t resist, much less attack the ’master’—they would only sound an alarm, waiting for another ’master’ with higher authority to make a judgnt. But in this world, there are no organic beings left besides Ofelia."
"So, this is sothing only Ofelia can do... one by one, personally converting all the machine servants in the world into real humans."
"Before this, all those who had been converted by him, who had been granted real life, would be grateful to him and provide support. Like his loyal servants, like his faithful subjects."
"However, it would be impossible for Ofelia alone to achieve this. Therefore, Jason proposed an alternative plan:"
"Once the number of machine servants reaches a threshold, they will not need Ofelia to awaken them one by one. Instead, these machine servants could initiate an ’Awakening War’, and the machine servants they control and capture in the war would be directly copied with the ’Awakening Code’ in their bodies."
"They will imdiately stand up and turn their guns to fight for Ofelia."
"Of course, once an attack alarm is received. They will beco the targets of all the world’s machine servants—for the purpose of taking down the ’rogue machine servant that coerced and beguiled [the master].’ As long as Ofelia exists, the enemies will not use large-scale lethal attacks; as long as Ofelia participates in the war, then the enemies could only resort to less powerful precise strikes to avoid harming Ofelia."
"And to accomplish this task... they would first need to acquire at least twenty thousand machine servants, to complete the first snowball effect. But when to start the decisive battle, will be left for Ofelia to decide."
[This might be the last choice, or it might not be]
[Roll your dice, if the number is 1, then Ofelia will initiate the decisive battle imdiately after controlling twenty thousand machine servants; if the number is 20, then Ofelia will never start the battle; the larger the number in between, the longer Ofelia will wait to wage war]
—This may be the last choice.
This dice roll clearly indicates—too high or too low a number for Ofelia will make things more complicated.
But this ti, Annan didn’t hesitate much.
He vaguely grasped the truth of this nightmare.
"...Let see your original fate first."
He murmured softly and rolled the dice.
The dice finally stopped at 17 points.
So the story continued:
"Ofelia believed... his own talents were not exceptional, even if Dennisiowa was handed over to Arthur, he would not disappoint.
"Since he has been deeply trapped in this world for so many years, he is mostly unable to return; since he cannot beco the king of Dennisiowa, then at the very least he must make the people of this world happy."
"Perhaps because of his old-fashioned moral concepts, Ofelia eventually could not regard the machine servants that had regained their hearts as cold tools. Their bodies may still be synthetic, but they now possess intellect and sensibility—they were, from the beginning, a new form of life."
"Although they were all willing to fight for the ’Father’ who gave them life, Ofelia did not wish for them to die for this cause."
"Ofelia restored their freedom to them, referring to them as ’ch-people’ instead of ’ch-servants’."
"The awakened ch-people began to research anew, propelling the static society forward. They finally started to differ from the stagnant ch-servant civilization."
"They gradually ca to understand art, philosophy, and love. They ’regressed’, or perhaps, ’evolved’. And Ofelia delved into their culture, acquiring much knowledge—not because he thought he could one day return to his forr Dennisiowa, but to have common topics with his people."
"On Ofelia’s 90th birthday, he felt his life drawing to a close. So the aged king finally launched the belated [War]."
"Under the embrace of the more advanced ch-people, the ’Awakening Code’ spread like a virus. This ’War’ achieved an absolute victory within three days, leaving only the ch-people, newly born into the world, with no ch-servants remaining."
"He awakened a world that had died, turning stagnant ice into flowing water."
"On the day of the complete awakening, Awakeners all over the world sang the hymn of heroes, which Ofelia composed when he first resolved to take action."
"Ofelia played the harp, the people sang. Endless voices converged like a sea of light. His ancient wish finally fulfilled, he closed his eyes with a smile."
"He always harbored hope, finally stepping out of the despair that belonged only to himself and advancing to a higher realm. Let us celebrate him and grant him the reward for passing the trial:
"——[Curse Binding: Awakening Imprint], [Occupation: ch-Emperor]."
This is a Gold-tier occupation.
Without doubt, Ofelia in that nightmare, had already awakened his desire for ascension. He was already qualified to advance to Gold... it’s just that world did not have the power of the curses of the Mist Realm, so he could not continue his ascension.
And the mont he cleared that nightmare, his soul began to subli.
Annan could not see the sequel.
But he believed, Ofelia would surely complete the Stigmatization.
It is a Gold-tier occupation that does not exist in this world... advancing to Gold-tier also ans he will no longer be bound by a lifespan. A body about to age and die can once again obtain a prolonged life."
And while Ofelia does not actively rember, he could still bring back so knowledge from another world to the Mist Realm. With Annan regaining the reins of the Charioteer, it almost ans that Ofelia would definitely obtain the Book of Truth in the future—
"Is this the essence of the nightmare?"
Annan murmured softly.
It certainly carried a tint of The Worm’s color.
——But its essence is still the Charioteer.
The purpose of this nightmare is to plunge participants into the most thorough despair. It is also to encourage them to completely break free from this despair and ascend to a higher realm.
And the essence of this trial...
...is the authority of the "God of Ascension and Hope"—the authority of the Charioteer.
——Not the Charioteer of the "God of Purity and Destiny", but the Charioteer of the "God of Ascension and Hope."
Annan finally, truly understood part of the essence of the [Charioteer].
