"Anguo, you should go back to Shenzhen. I know you’re busy, and I’m much better now. I can take care of myself."

Li Sisi’s feelings were conflicted. She wanted him to stay but also didn’t want to hinder his work. Moreover, she was now aware that even after she recovered and left the hospital, she would be infertile.

Although Yi Anguo already had a daughter, he wasn’t the sa man anymore. Now that he was so wealthy, he would surely want a son, wouldn’t he? Besides, Yi Anguo was from Xijiang Province. She had heard from classmates back in school that people there held strong patriarchal values. Many families would have several daughters in their relentless pursuit of a son, even if it ant their hos were demolished in the process.

So, Li Sisi began to worry that Yi Anguo might bring up the idea of breaking up.

"Shanshan and Tingting have both gone back to school. If I left now, how could you take proper care of yourself? If I really just walked away, what kind of man would I be?" Yi Anguo said with a smile. "Nothing is more important than your health. I’m your boyfriend, and it’s my responsibility and my duty to take care of you when you need ."

"If it were who was in trouble, I’m sure you wouldn’t abandon , right?"

"Anguo! I..." Li Sisi was deeply moved, her voice trembling with emotion. "The doctor said I can’t get pregnant or have children anymore. I know you’re good to , that you’re a good man, but I don’t want to be a burden. We should break up!"

"Silly girl! What does it matter if you can’t get pregnant? At worst, we just won’t have any children. We still have Xin Yi. Isn’t she our daughter?" Yi Anguo said, comforting her with a smile.

"But don’t you want a son? You’ve made so much money. Won’t you feel regretful in the future if you don’t have a son?" Li Sisi asked, finding it hard to believe.

"You wouldn’t believe if I said I had zero regrets. Of course, it would be great to have a son, but if we can’t, a daughter is just as good. Who says a daughter can’t inherit my business?" Yi Anguo explained. "Stop overthinking things. Just focus on getting better so we can go back to Shenzhen sooner."

「Half a month later.」

Li Sisi was finally discharged from the hospital, though she still needed physical therapy. This could only be done back in Shenzhen, as Yi Anguo really didn’t have the ti to keep staying with her in the small county town.

After returning to Shenzhen, Yi Anguo arranged for Li Sisi to be admitted to a hospital for her physical therapy and hired professional caregivers for her. He also made ti to visit her every day. In addition, Li Shanshan would also visit Li Sisi at the hospital to keep her company whenever she was free.

Chuan Yu Restaurant had to be closed temporarily due to the sudden death of Li Sisi’s parents. Yi Anguo asked the sisters what their plans were for it: continue running it or sell it.

After discussing it with her two younger sisters, Li Sisi decided to take it over and keep the business going.

"This is the only thing our parents left for us sisters. If they’re watching from the afterlife, I’m sure they would want us to keep it running," Li Sisi told Yi Anguo. "My parents poured their heart and soul into this restaurant. I have to manage it well."

"But you’re a civil servant. What about your job?" Yi Anguo, of course, had no objections and respected her decision.

"I’ll resign once I’ve fully recovered," Li Sisi said with determination.

"You need to think this through carefully, so you don’t have regrets later. But no matter what you choose, I’ll support you," Yi Anguo said with a nod.

"Yes! With your support, I’m sure I can run this restaurant well and make it bigger and better," Li Sisi said confidently. "You’re already so successful. I have to beco even better to be worthy of you."

Yi Anguo shook his head helplessly and said with a wry smile, "Actually, you don’t have to push yourself so hard. You could do nothing at all, and I’d be happy to support you."

No matter how hard you try, catching up to is practically impossible! The bull market is approaching, and even I can’t imagine how much money I’ll make in this round. That’s not to ntion the over 40 million shares of Penguin stock I hold. Even if I do nothing, my wealth in seventeen or eighteen years will be beyond most people’s wildest dreams. So you want to work hard and catch up? How hard can you possibly work? How could you ever catch up? Even if you worked 24/7, coughed up blood from exhaustion, and ran your legs off, you still couldn’t do it! A lot of the ti, catching up isn’t about how hard you chase. It’s about whether it’s even possible.

Yi Anguo finally found the ti to head to the Chen Corporation Building in the city center and assu his duties as manager of the Finance and Investnt Departnt.

Chen Corporation’s Finance and Investnt Departnt comprised nurous project teams, each with its own duties. The long-term vacancy in the departnt manager’s position hadn’t affected its normal operations. Of course, while there was no official manager, there were plenty of deputy managers. Each supervised one or two projects, and so were even responsible for three.

Many people were naturally resentful when Yi Anguo was parachuted in as the manager of the Finance and Investnt Departnt, especially the deputy managers.

Who wouldn’t want to drop the "deputy" from their title? Securing the promotion would an a monthly inco that didn’t just double, but increased severalfold. As the undisputed head of the departnt, employees were required to greet him respectfully as "Mr. Yi" whenever they saw him. Thus, after the Human Resources Manager escorted him into the Finance Departnt for his orientation, everyone addressed him as Mr. Yi.

Once the HR Manager left, Yi Anguo settled into the leather swivel chair and addressed the twenty-so deputy managers and project directors.

"I’m new here," he began. "Everyone can continue working just as you have been. If I happen to be standing in the way of soone’s career, all I can say is sorry. To be honest, I didn’t even want to co, but I had no choice. Chairman Chen insisted.

"So, from now on, I hope we can all work together happily. Let’s have a good ti at work, go ho in high spirits, and when we have free ti, we can grab a drink or sing so karaoke.

"In short, I’m an easygoing person. I know every workplace has its unwritten rules, but I hope no one deliberately targets or does anything to displease .

"Because if that happens, and I find out about it, I will be very unhappy.

"And if I’m unhappy, it’s likely no one else will be happy either. Whoever makes unhappy will have only to bla when I make them unhappy in return.

"Trust , I can definitely make that happen."

After sending everyone away, Yi Anguo sat in his office and pulled down all the Venetian blinds, blocking the view from outside. He closed his eyes, thinking for a mont, then made a call to the Human Resources departnt.

"Hello."

"I need Human Resources to arrange for a general manager’s assistant for the Finance and Investnt Departnt as soon as possible. Is that a problem?"

"May I ask if this is Mr. Yi, the new manager of the Finance and Investnt Departnt?"

"That’s right. It’s ."

"Do you have any special requirents for the assistant? For instance, any specific conditions regarding age, height, education, or work experience?"

"No special requirents or conditions. You can handle it at your departnt’s discretion," Yi Anguo said before hanging up.
