Xu Yun wasn’t sure what else her offer of a test drive might entail.
But regardless, he wasn’t interested. Instead, he asked, "About how much is this car?"
"The base price is 2.18 million, and about 2.5 million out the door, sir."
The saleswoman replied, "But I can apply for so discounts for you, and include free maintenance and a few gifts."
"Alright, I’ll take it. I’d like to place an order for one."
Xu Yun asked, "Roughly when can I take delivery? I don’t want to wait too long."
"One week. How does that sound, sir?"
The saleswoman said, "That’s the absolute fastest we can do."
"Great. Let’s sign the contract and run the card."
"Thank you, sir!"
’The saleswoman was ecstatic. She hadn’t expected him to be so decisive. The sale was made without her needing to waste a single word.’

Half an hour later, Xu Yun had signed the contract and paid. He drove off under the saleswoman’s ardent gaze.

Before he left, the saleswoman added him on WeChat to make future communication easier.

With the car purchased and business taken care of, Xu Yun went to his company, only to find that Ning Qian, Su Mu, and Yu Xuan were all out.
Only a few other female employees were in the entire office.
The first finance employee he’d hired, a woman who called herself Shiliu, looked slightly surprised to see Xu Yun.

"Okay, I get it. Thanks," Xu Yun replied. Then, without even stepping into his own office, he turned around and left.
As soon as the boss was gone, the other employees imdiately gathered around.
"Shiliu, is our boss always like this? He cos and goes in a flash."
"Yeah, since I started working here, I’ve only seen him twice, and he never stayed for long."
SIGH.
One smitten colleague sighed, "A boss that handso... it would be a dream if we could see him at the office every day."

Shiliu couldn’t help but laugh. "President Xu is a completely hands-off boss. He doesn’t get involved in managent. He basically never shows up. President Su is the one running this company."

Shiliu offered a kind reminder. "Working here, there are two leaders you can’t afford to offend: President Su and Secretary Yu. But there’s one more person you need to be careful around—the receptionist."
"Why?"
"Have you ever heard of a company where the President and the boss’s personal secretary drop everything to go help the receptionist move house?"
The others fell silent.

On his way to Ning Qian’s place, Xu Yun received a WeChat ssage from Jian Shiwai.
She had agreed.
Xu Yun glanced at the ssage. It was just as he’d expected. He replied, "In that case, go ahead and request the ti off from your boss. We’ll leave in a week."

Jian Shiwai put her phone away, stood up, and headed for the bank governor’s office.
When Governor Gao saw her, he imdiately broke into a smile. "Manager Jian, perfect timing. I was just about to call for you."
"Governor Gao, is sothing the matter?"
"Do you have any idea how much money Xu Yun has on deposit with our bank now?"
"How much?"
"It’s over a hundred million now."
Governor Gao said excitedly, "I just checked the backend data. His balance was at 77 million, but then another 35 million was suddenly wired in from overseas last night."
Jian Shiwai was floored.

Governor Gao’s expression suddenly turned serious. "Have you heard back from Eastern Airlines about their resolution? If they’re still dragging their feet, I’m planning to speak with their head office leadership tomorrow."
’A man with over a hundred million in cash deposits at the bank deserves to be taken seriously, no matter what.’

Governor Gao sounded a little surprised. "And did you tell Xu Yun? What was his take on it?"

Governor Gao instructed her, "You need to be putting more effort into Xu Yun. Keep a close eye on him. Proactively check in, stay in touch, and build a good relationship. We can’t let another industry poach him from us."
"Yes, I understand."
"Didn’t he ntion last ti that he wanted to learn the art of tea brewing from you?"
Governor Gao asked, puzzled, "Has he reached out to you recently?"
"He has, but not about learning to brew tea."
Jian Shiwai replied, "It was about sothing else. In fact, that’s what I ca to talk to you about today."
"What is it?"
Jian Shiwai hesitated for a mont before saying, "Xu Yun invited to go on a trip with him."

After a few seconds of silence in the office, Governor Gao looked at her and asked, "And how did you respond?"
"I accepted."
Jian Shiwai said, feigning helplessness, "So, I was hoping to request an extended leave of absence from the bank. I’m not sure exactly how long it will be."
"Not a problem. Just think of it as a chance to get away and relax. Don’t overthink it."
Governor Gao said reassuringly, "I’ll approve the leave. We’ll count it as paid ti off. Just focus on accompanying Xu Yun on his trip, and don’t worry about work."
"Thank you, sir."
"Manager Jian, I seem to recall that Xu Yun is single, isn’t he?"
Governor Gao said aningfully, "Since he’s invited you on a trip together, this could be a real opportunity for you. Make the most of it."
Jian Shiwai didn’t know what to say.
「In an old residential complex on the other side of town.」
Xu Yun parked his car and walked up to his old apartnt.
But he had co up empty again.
Most of Ning Qian’s belongings were gone, leaving only his original furniture.

Xu Yun gave a wry smile. He had wanted to surprise them, but it looked like he’d have to go to the new place instead.
Driving at a breakneck pace, he returned to Su Mu’s residential complex.
As usual, he stopped at the complex gate to exchange a few teasing words with Li Yonghua, who was on duty.

As he was getting into the elevator, Xu Yun ran into Gong iping again. She was dressed in a cleaner’s uniform on the 19th floor, wiping down the wall tiles while furtively staring at Su Mu’s front door.
When she saw Xu Yun suddenly step out of the elevator, she got such a fright that she scurried away down the stairwell.
Xu Yun paid her no mind. Ever since those two had started working in the complex, Li Jinshu hadn’t been back once.
He keyed in the password, opened the door, and stepped inside.
The three won tidying up the living room all whipped their heads around to look at him in unison.
"Long ti no see, my three lovely ladies. Did you miss at all?"
Xu Yun grinned as he walked over, teasing, "Because I certainly missed all of you."
