Chapter 1690: Chapter 1691: Movents of All Parties

“Who is he?”

Near Zixuan Hall, a shadowy cavern suddenly echoed with a voice.

This place was precisely where those lying in wait prepared to strike at the Luo Clan.

Su Chengyu’s abrupt actions naturally did not escape their notice, though most of them clearly had no idea who Su Chengyu was.

Yet, “most” does not an “all.” While Su Chengyu’s current strength had yet to be sufficient to pique the interest of those who had stepped into the Hollow Void Realm for countless years,

there were always a few gathered here who had long shared ties with Su Chengyu.

“Demon Slayer Departnt, Heavenly Balance Saint Envoy. Su… Cheng… Yu.”

After rely a few seconds of silence, soone provided the answer.

Though most still remained ignorant of Su Chengyu’s background, the three words “Demon Slayer Departnt” were already enough to convey significant implications.

“From the Capital City. Is this guy one of the people your side sent over?”

The question ca from an extrely aged voice.

“No.”

The reply to the old man’s voice was unusually cold. After a pause, however, the speaker seed to recognize a need for clarification and added:

“I was aware beforehand that there was a high chance he’d co, but he doesn’t take orders from .”

The first remark sought to dispel excess suspicion among the crowd, while the latter aid to clarify his own stance. After all, he was speaking here not rely as himself, but as Xia Country’s representative.

“I see now. A re Nascent Soul dares to act so recklessly—I’d thought you couldn’t hold back anymore. If it really was your arrangent, your New Punishnt Heaven Departnt would’ve utterly disappointed .”

Though the words sounded like retreat, there was an evident undertone of mockery.

Even so, these remarks fell like a stone into the sea, failing to elicit any other responses.

It was then that a distinctly younger voice took the initiative to ask:

“So, everyone, what are we planning to do now? Soone has already made the first move—do we step in and stir things up?”

The previously empty, hushed atmosphere of the cavern instantly changed with this remark. The initial silence dissipated, replaced by an oppressive tension.

No matter the circumstances, Su Chengyu’s actions were a direct advance toward Zixuan Hall. That figurative war horn may not have blared loudly, but it was undeniably a signal.

Coupled with Su Chengyu’s identity tied to the Demon Slayer Departnt, it naturally led others to suspect whether this might be the opportune mont to attack.

Nonetheless, in the eyes of most, whether Su Chengyu had chosen this path himself or if it was orchestrated by Xia Country, the move seed disastrously rash.

Having waited so long, they were unwilling to recklessly expose themselves to the Luo Clan’s scrutiny.

Just then, a resonant voice rang throughout the cavern, delivering a decisive judgnt:

“Just a Nascent Soul Realm fool courting death. The Luo Clan probably won’t act—it’s unnecessary for us to respond. We keep waiting.”

As these words were spoken, the group reached a consensus, though many felt inward surprise.

Most people present remained unable to perceive the realm deliberately concealed by Su Chengyu.

Given Su Chengyu’s seemingly reckless gambit, it was naturally assud by the others that he must at least be in the Hollow Void Realm—no one expected he’d rely be in the Nascent Soul Realm.

For the few who already knew the truth, hearing this statent drew more nuanced and inscrutable expressions.

Among them, two particular figures stood out, their reactions especially notable.

“Secret Envoy, will this unapproved action by Su Chengyu end up alerting the snakes? After all, he’s with the Demon Slayer Departnt.”

“Alerting the snakes?”

The young man addressed chuckled lightly, idly toying with the token in his hand as he retorted:

“Do you think the Luo Clan is stupid? If we don’t act, they won’t realize Xia Country is pulling strings for their impending calamity?”

Upon hearing this, the woman’s face turned to shocked disbelief. Never would she have imagined that her supposedly flawless plan had already been deduced by the opposing side.

She quickly collected herself and continued, “Secret Envoy, does that an we really don’t need to take any action?”

The handso man turned to glance at the woman and softly replied, “What’s the rush? You assu whatever that old man said must be correct?”

The woman froze, then pressed on: “Isn’t that individual just one step away from becoming an Earth Immortal? Could he truly misjudge sothing?”

The man let out a faint chuckle before explaining, “Regarding strength, that old man certainly wouldn’t misstep even slightly. But as for Su Chengyu’s actual abilities, we’re not unfamiliar. Still, as for what ties bind Su Chengyu to the Luo Clan, that old man doesn’t know—but you should, shouldn’t you? All those files from the Heaven Punishnt Departnt were wasted?”

Montarily dumbfounded, the woman’s mind raced through what she’d learned about Su Chengyu while reviewing records at the Heaven Punishnt Departnt. After taking a deep breath, she began to speculate aloud:

“Would those sly old foxes from the Luo Clan really act because of Su Chengyu?”

The man offered no response, only a faint smile and the words, “Wait and see. It won’t be long before we know whether the Luo Clan moves.”

Similar exchanges echoed near another cavern’s vicinity.

Although located not far from the main cavern, the alluring woman’s surrounding prohibition formations were notably more formidable than anyone else’s.

Rather than rely isolating herself from the rest, it seed like she’d drawn a boundary to confine herself deliberately.

Of course, this didn’t prevent her from overhearing the conversation audible to everyone within the cavern. She had absorbed it all.

Yet, bound by her identity, she dared not speak directly.

“Prepare yourselves. It’s ti to act.”

The woman spoke softly as she rose from her ditation mat, addressing the few subordinates at her side.

One of her female attendants, noticing her rise, imdiately picked up a cloak from nearby and draped it over the woman’s shoulders.

After a mont’s hesitation, the attendant couldn’t contain herself and asked, “Mountain Lord, will the Luo Clan truly act because of this man?”

The woman turned slightly to cast her gaze upon the attendant, her expression icy as she retorted, “Don’t ask questions you shouldn’t. Let it happen again, and I’ll cut out your tongue.”

Upon hearing this, the female attendant fell to her knees in panic, too afraid to utter another word.

The woman observed her servant’s trembling appearance and withdrew her earlier notion of finding an opportune mont to dispose of her.

After all, those still willing to serve her closely these days were few. Though this girl was overly chatty, her efficiency was comndable.

Normally, she could overlook such behavior. Yet this ti, the woman couldn’t explain why this particular question stirred her discontent.

The reason she’d instructed her people to prepare for combat stemd solely from Cui Manlou’s parting ssage.

As for Su Chengyu…

Her Divine Sense pierced through the formations she had established, locking upon the man standing alone before Zixuan Hall.

She was curious as well—what sort of allure was hidden within this individual who had repeatedly thwarted them of the Demonic Path?

As the thought flickered in her mind, a seductive, faintly dangerous smile adorned her lips, akin to a crimson rose with sharp thorns.
