97 Chapter 73 Mysterious Power

This unexpected situation left the three hopeful CIA agents deeply disappointed, so they called over the CIA informant in the area to question him. It was the intelligence from this local informant that inford the CIA of a Chinese young man being treated at this temporary hospital.

More than twenty days ago, before US fighter jets, army troops, and senior CIA agents were killed, they had all sent back so intelligence. Although incomplete, these reports all ntioned a Chinese young man. So when the three CIA agents learned that the temporary hospital near the cri scene was treating a Chinese young man, they calculated the timing and suspected that this individual was likely the Chinese person responsible for eliminating a large number of their own nationals and equipnt.

Therefore, the three CIA agents rushed to the temporary hospital, hoping to follow the clues to find the Chinese man. Not only could they recover the mission items lost by the senior CIA agents, but also avenge their compatriots. However, they did not expect to encounter this situation at the temporary hospital. Everyone there denied having treated a Chinese young man, which took them by surprise. They had no choice but to question their informant once again.

But a strange thing happened. When the three CIA agents questioned the informant once more about the intelligence on the Chinese young man, the informant appeared to be extrely astonished, with a facial expression indicating complete ignorance. He claid that he had no intelligence on any Chinese young man and had not reported any sightings of such individuals.

This sudden turn of events left the three CIA agents dumbfounded. They had clearly heard this informant ntion this intelligence, and yet he was now denying it. Unfortunately, they had not recorded the intelligence when they received it, so they couldn't present evidence to confront the informant. The three agents didn't give up and decided to use a lie detector on the informant. What was even more bizarre was that the data from the lie detector confird that the informant wasn't lying, aning his statent about not having discovered the Chinese young man was true. The three CIA agents had not received any information about the Chinese young man from the informant.

This incredible result left the three CIA agents feeling bewildered, even beginning to doubt whether their lives were real or if they were dreaming. One agent had a sudden idea to find out if the words they spoke were true, so he suggested they use the lie detector on each other. But when they tried testing each other with the detector, they found they indeed had received intelligence about the Chinese young man from the informant, and they weren't lying about it. The entire situation seed peculiar beyond belief.

While the three CIA agents felt a chill in their hearts, their colleagues in Kenya's capital, Nairobi, sent them the latest investigative information. So they left Aywei Village and rushed to Nairobi, where they exchanged intelligence and continued the investigation.

When Yan Fei seized the rusted gear in Africa, he managed to eliminate the blonde woman and her Caucasian partner Sam and even annihilated the attacking US Army and ground forces. However, his information had leaked to so extent. In this world, it is only the United States that bullies others; nobody dares bully the United States. Therefore, the aggrieved US Governnt swore to retaliate for this incident and began a massive intelligence collection effort in Africa to find the Chinese man who had challenged them. The three CIA agents who had gone to Aywei Village to gather intelligence were just one team; there was an even larger group of intelligence analysts in Nairobi conducting intelligence analysis.

At the US Embassy in Nairobi, in the operation analysis room, more than a dozen Arican intelligence personnel were engaged in tense intelligence exchange and analysis, including the three CIA agents who had just returned from Aywei Village.

At this ti, a black intelligence officer was giving a briefing in front of a projector.

"We obtained the list of arrivals and departures at Nairobi Airport from a week before the incident and the clearance videos of these individuals entering Nairobi Airport. However, on the morning of the incident, Nairobi Airport's managent system malfunctioned. This malfunction lasted two hours, so we do not have any clearance information or related data during those two hours."

The person leading this intelligence analysis eting was a middle-aged Caucasian nad Lynch. Upon hearing about the airport malfunction, he imdiately furrowed his brow and asked, "Why did the airport's managent system malfunction at that ti? Have you looked into the reason?"

The black man replied, "Our technical departnt has already examined it. The airport's managent system had been used for too long, leading to hardware failure, which resulted in the disruption at that mont, failing to record the data for those two hours. Our technicians have confird that this malfunction was accidental and have ruled out human involvent."

Lynch asked, "So, is there any possibility of recovering the data for those two hours?"

The black man shook his head and said, "We've done our best, but the data is permanently lost and cannot be recovered."

Lynch then asked, "Have you found any suspicious individuals in the other data exported from the airport managent system from before then?"

The Black man shook his head again and said, "We have carefully studied those data and analyzed every person who entered Nairobi Airport, compared them with the data in our system, and found no abnormal individuals. To be completely sure, we have also dispatched a large number of personnel to investigate the movents of those who entered Nairobi in person and found no evidence that they were involved in the massacre that night."

Disappointnt flickered in Lynch's eyes as he said, "You guys take that damaged hard disk back to the dostic area first and seek out experts to recover the data. Also, investigate exactly how many flights arrived at Nairobi Airport during those two hours."

Another Caucasian man stood up and said, "We have already investigated the airplane landing situation within those two hours and found that only four airplanes landed at Nairobi Airport during that ti fra. One from Paris, one from Cairo, one from China, and one from Los Angeles. We have obtained the security check information and cabin recordings of the flights from Paris, Cairo, and Los Angeles at their airports of departure and found no suspicious individuals. Now, we only lack information on the flight from Shanghai. If the enemy indeed entered Nairobi by plane, then the suspect should be on that flight from China."

Lynch said, "Kenya is a coastal country with many channels to enter, including by sea and land routes, apart from airplanes. However, we are unable to check every one of them, so we can only search through the most likely way to find the suspects, via flights, as this channel would leave the suspects with nowhere to hide. You must imdiately seek assistance from the Chinese governnt, tell them we suspect there are terrorists on that flight and need their relevant data."

The Caucasian man said, "I have already requested the Chinese side to provide the passenger information for that flight. But they told their system malfunctioned that day, and by coincidence, all information regarding that flight was lost, and they can't provide us with the passenger list. They even said the ticketing information for the passengers on that flight is gone, and they themselves have no idea who was on it."

Lynch slamd the table in anger and said, "Those are just excuses from China, the Chinese man is surely sent by them, of course they would not want to share the information with us."

The Caucasian man sat down helplessly, and another elderly intelligence agent with graying hair stood up and said, "I have been investigating hotels in the city and suburbs, hoping to find suspicious individuals through their accommodation records. All Chinese people who appeared in these areas were investigated by us. A Chinese man staying at the Nairobi Grand Hotel caught my attention because he checked into the hotel on the day of the incident and spent a long ti in his room without anyone knowing what he was doing inside."

Lynch perked up and quickly asked, "Did you find any useful information?"

The agent with graying hair shook his head and said, "After discovering that the suspicious Chinese man had stayed at the Nairobi Grand Hotel, I imdiately conducted a special investigation. When I asked the hotel again about this Chinese individual, they told no Chinese person had stayed at their hotel. Then I started asking the hotel staff, but a strange thing happened, everyone I had spoken to the first ti seed to collectively have amnesia the second ti around, completely unable to rember the Chinese man, and even the surveillance videos and accommodation records of those few days were gone, with no one able to recall what the Chinese man looked like."

This intelligence bewildered everyone, making it feel like they had encountered so profound mysterious event. By this ti, the trio of CIA agents who went to Aywei Village also stood up to report, their accounts were similar to those of the white-haired agent. No matter what, they could not find any information about the Chinese individual, and the intelligence they obtained before and after was contradictory, leaving no one to understand what exactly was happening.

This situation was incredibly troubling for Lynch, who was in charge of the intelligence analysis, and he felt helpless. The CIA's intelligence system was extrely powerful, perhaps the best in the world. Usually, finding soone would take only minutes. Yet, in Africa, they encountered this baffling event, as if soone was secretly sabotaging their operation, resulting in contradictory intelligence that left them blind and unable to pinpoint the suspect.

Had Yan Fei known about everything happening in this room at this mont, he would certainly be astonished, because the trip to Africa that he thought was foolproof had left so many loopholes. But upon knowing the situation, he would be even more surprised, for it seed as if a Mysterious Power in the darkness was protecting him, erasing all traces he left in Africa, causing even the most capable intelligence system of the US CIA to fail in pinpointing his whereabouts...
