Chapter 649: Chapter 284 Mysterious Envelope_3 Chapter 649: Chapter 284 Mysterious Envelope_3 The forr President began to sigh and said, “This Destroyer is really a huge problem. Without resolving him, we can’t make a move against Dream Island and Yan Fei. Even though we now know there is no martial force on Dream Island, we still can’t afford to attack them.”
The forr President’s staff said, “Mr. President, we just finished watching the news conference held by Yan Fei. We know that several high technologies have recently appeared on Dream Island, among which the super high-energy battery is extrely powerful. Even we, The United States of Arica, haven’t mastered such advanced battery technology. This kind of battery technology is related to the future developnt and security of the country, so we must seize it back.”
After glancing at the forr President’s expression, the staff noticed so eagerness on his face and imdiately said, “It’s not just the super high-energy battery that is important, but also the two treatnts for AIDS and cancer. We need to bring them back to The United States as well. I think Yan Fei’s Directory of Friendly Cooperation is very impressive; we can do the sa thing. As long as the citizens of the countries unfriendly to our nation won’t be able to co to The United States for treatnt of incurable diseases, it would force those nations to change their attitudes towards us. All these things are related to our national security, so I think we can’t let go of Dream Island just because we’re apprehensive of the Destroyer. Considering what Dream Island has to offer, it’s already worth our direct intervention.”
The forr President, who had appeared eager at first, sighed again after considering sothing and said, “The Jewish Chamber of Comrce has just sent the latest ssage; they want us to maintain good relations with Dream Island and not to beco hostile towards it. This is because they have several patients of high status suffering from cancer and AIDS, who hope to have the opportunity to be treated at Dream Island Hospital for Incurable Diseases. If we beco hostile to Dream Island, they might lose the chance of treatnt, so they are pressuring not to act against Dream Island.”
Another staff mber said, “Mr. President, but this opportunity is one not to be missed! We can respond to the Jewish Chamber of Comrce that if we take action, we could seize the thods to treat AIDS and cancer back to The United States, where they can be treated in any way they want afterward. These technologies being in the hands of Dream Island, requiring us to ask for their help, is very unfavorable for The United States.”
The forr President was sowhat hesitant. He looked at the military officer and said, “If we take military action, what are the odds of capturing Dream Island?”
The military officer replied, “Even if the Destroyer intervenes to stop us, we are 100% certain we can take down Dream Island. However, we might face the insane retaliation of the Destroyer and his airplane afterwards. With the airplane’s extrely powerful stealth ability and terrifying payload, we can’t stop him, and he will surely leave The United States in ruins.”
The United States Army remains the most powerful in the world, and they have complete confidence in their own strength. However, after a direct confrontation with the Destroyer’s airplane off the US West Coast, the US Forces were surprised to discover a problem: the Destroyer was very terrifying. The Destroyer had caused significant casualties to the US Forces, but they had no way to deal with the Destroyer and his airplane, resulting in a deep wariness of the Destroyer within the US Army.
Even though the US Forces had only engaged the Destroyer with their conventional military might and not yet resorted to nuclear weapons, they had to admit that their conventional weapons were no match for the Destroyer. However, if they could locate the base of the Destroyer, a few nuclear bombs would suffice to eliminate him; but without knowing where his base is, they dare not provoke him. It’s the existence of the Destroyer is why a powerful military like the US Army dares not act against Dream Island, completely unlike their usual assertive and dominant deanor.
The military officer then said, “So I still suggest, Mr. President, that there is no need for The United States to rush to the forefront in a confrontation with Dream Island. We should just stick to our previous combat plan and let the United Fleet from Japan, Canada, and Australia engage Dream Island.”
By this point in the eting, everyone had put forward their issues and suggestions, and now it was up to the forr President to make the difficult choices. Dream Island had initially been an insignificant force, but now it was causing the mighty United States to be in a difficult predicant, unable to decide on a course of action.
The forr President looked at his subordinates and said, “You all go out; I want to be alone for a while.”
His staff exchanged glances, knowing that the President was about to make a decision, and promptly left the room.
The forr President of The United States often made unexpected and seemingly foolish decisions, but upon executing these decisions, they invariably brought significant benefits to The United States. Over ti, everyone gradually developed an inexplicable confidence in this President, no matter how bizarre his decisions might be.
And each ti the forr President was about to make a decision, he would ask to be left alone, so everyone knew that an unusual decision was to co, which is why they left imdiately, giving him so private space.
With everyone out of the room, the President stood up, looked around, then moved to the table in front of him and pulled open a drawer, only to find it completely empty. He closed the drawer and whispered, “I need to make the right choice; I hope you can help .”
Then he reopened the drawer and found an envelope inside. A look of joy appeared on his face as he quickly opened the envelope to find a piece of paper inside. He pulled the letter out and eagerly began to read the text, a smile slowly spreading across his face.
After reading the content of the letter, the forr President thought for a mont, morized what was written, then folded the envelope and paper together and burned them with a lighter. After the sll of the burning paper had dissipated from the room, he called his subordinates back and began to arrange the next tasks according to the content of the letter…
