He quickly activated the Quantum Radar to scan his surroundings, promptly getting a clear understanding of the situation. He hadn’t expected that, during the ti he lost control of the drone, it had been discovered by the US Forces hiding underwater, who were now engaged in salvage operations.
Yan Fei broke out in a cold sweat, relieved that the Drone Data refreshed just as it was about to be hauled out of the water. Otherwise, if the drone had fallen into the hands of the US Forces and sothing unforeseen occurred, Yan Fei’s regrets would have co too late. However, upon discovering the drone was deeply ensnared by US Forces, Yan Fei didn’t panic or choose to make it ascend to the sky imdiately; instead, he controlled the drone to sink rapidly. Once the drone had sunk to a depth where it could no longer be observed by the boats above, it imdiately transford into a teardrop shape that was most suitable for stealthy underwater maneuvering.
Hoover Dam was flanked by an intense concentration of US Forces’ air defense firepower, the density and strength of which were almost psychopathic. These were General Miller’s ultimate asures against the drone. Considering this significant threat, that’s why Yan Fei chose not to make a direct skyward escape from this location.
Although the drone had Radar Stealth Ability and so optical stealth capabilities, it was too close to the US Forces on both sides of the dam. The Forces could spot the drone with the naked eye. Hence, the mont the drone appeared in the sky, it would imdiately be subjected to a fierce attack by air defense firepower. Even if the drone were formidable, it would not survive a saturated bombardnt and missile attack with no room for error.
Anticipating such a situation, Yan Fei didn’t opt for a brazen breakout, but instead chose to have the drone retreat from the bottom of the water. After transformation, the drone swiftly moved underwater, and in a short ti, it went from the upstream to the downstream side of Hoover Dam. At this ti, the US Forces’ active sonar, deep-sea subrsibles, and divers were still searching in the original location, not realizing that the drone had long left its initial position.
Upon reaching the front of Hoover Dam, the drone stopped moving forward. The presence of the dam ant the drone could no longer continue. However, the drone dared not ascend to the sky from this point because there were still many US Air Defense Troops on both sides of the dam.
But this dam structure was not an obstacle for Yan Fei, for he had already made preparations. A torpedo was launched from the torpedo tube below the drone’s body. This torpedo was a reduced-power version of the AGM-129 stealth cruise missile for underwater use, with only 80% of the original version’s power. The torpedo, carrying a massive bubble, struck the main body of Hoover Dam with trendous force.
Although the power of the AGM-129 stealth cruise missile was reduced by 20%, the warhead was packed with a mysterious explosive never before seen on Earth which endowed it with enormous destructive power. So, even with a 20% power reduction, its force remained substantial. The torpedo struck the body of Hoover Dam with extre speed and exploded fiercely, creating a muffled sound underwater and blasting a gigantic hole in the dam’s structure.
Hoover Dam was built in the thirties of the last century, nearly 90 years from now. However, during its construction, they spared no expense, resulting in excellent quality, and despite 90 years having passed, Hoover Dam’s structure remained incredibly sturdy. Even when blasted by an AGM-129 stealth cruise missile, the dam did not imdiately collapse; instead, nurous fine cracks appeared on its surface.
While one AGM-129 stealth cruise missile didn’t completely destroy Hoover Dam, Yan Fei was not disappointed. At his directive, a second torpedo was fired from the drone’s launching tube, continuing the attack on Hoover Dam.
The second torpedo, guided by the Quantum Radar, followed the trajectory of the first without deviation, precisely striking the center of the large hole and exploding again with a powerful muffled sound. With the sa spot enduring two high-powered assaults, Hoover Dam finally showed signs of failure.
