Chapter 1617: Chapter 627: Sealed History_2
Just as the battle armor had flown beneath the narrow fissure, Yan Fei suddenly ceased his ascent. He noticed a distorted tal plate within the fissure beside him, its surface flickering with peculiar light. Near this tal plate, it seed there were others as well.
Yan Fei’s interest was imdiately piqued. He piloted the battle armor closer and discovered that this was a massive tal plate bearing clear traces of artificial manufacture. Behind it lay a pitch-black secret chamber. These tal plates, alongside the others nearby, clearly existed to protect this chamber.
Judging from the external marks, the chamber had originally been entirely sealed—imperceptible and utterly inaccessible from the outside. However, a massive earthquake had violently torn open a massive underground rift here. A corner of the once-sealed chamber had now ruptured, exposing the mysterious room within.
Yan Fei had already found it astonishing that the Destiny Organization’s lair was situated 4,000 ters beneath Mount Kilimanjaro. Unexpectedly, clues of human activity were now evident a further 2,000 ters below. Recalling the high-energy weapons that had recently targeted his Drone Avatar outside, he quickly had a premonition: this chamber might belong to one of Kilimanjaro’s other forces.
After hesitating briefly, Yan Fei decided against leaving imdiately. He wanted to investigate this unknown force. Piloting the battle armor closer to the tal plate, he placed both hands upon it and exerted force, forcibly dismantling it and storing it away in his Universal Space.
Entering the chamber cautiously within the battle armor, Yan Fei found it to contain a long passage, one veiled in utter darkness with no illumination. The passage was so tall that even as Yan Fei moved within the battle armor, he couldn’t reach the ceiling above.
Worried about potential traps, Yan Fei advanced cautiously down the passage. Yet after taking several steps, nothing unexpected occurred. The passage wasn’t long, and Yan Fei soon reached its end, where a colossal tal door stood before him. Unlike tal doors seen in the human world, this one was extraordinarily grand, towering over five ters tall.
The tal door appeared undamaged and was still operational. As soon as its detection equipnt sensed Yan Fei’s approach, the area before the door lit up with a soft white glow. The door promptly contracted inward, opening up a passage for him. Beyond the door, though still shrouded in darkness, lay what Yan Fei could tell was an imnse space.
Given everything he had encountered on this journey to Mount Kilimanjaro, Yan Fei’s imagination had already been stretched to its limits. So when he saw such an advanced, high-tech facility 6,000 ters beneath the Earth’s surface, he wasn’t surprised. Instead, he simply walked inside. As a God-Level Expert with unparalleled strength, and still at peak combat power after that day’s battles, Yan Fei had no fear of potential traps or ambushes within. Moreover, his high-tech battle armor provided added assurance.
Upon entering the room through the tal door, Yan Fei noticed the walls and ceiling dimly brightening, emitting soft white light. Though the illumination wasn’t strong, it was sufficient for him to observe the room’s general layout.
Based on prior observations, Yan Fei had assud the room would be massive. But once he saw its size, he realized it was far beyond what he had imagined. It wasn’t a re room—it resembled a vast super square.
The super square wasn’t wide and empty like typical squares. Instead, it was filled with shelves resembling bookshelves. These shelves were lined with countless books, making it evident that this square functioned as an enormous library. Yan Fei extended his hand to gently touch one of the books, only to find it incredibly fragile. The book imdiately disintegrated into dust, vanishing completely.
The disappearance of this single book triggered a chain reaction: the library’s entire collection began to crumble, turning to ash. Not a single book remained intact…
Standing in the one-square-kiloter space of the super library, with its 200-ter-high ceilings, Yan Fei was deeply shocked. By his calculations, this library must have housed hundreds of billions of books—possibly over a hundred billion volus in total. The world’s largest human library, the Library of Congress, only contains 75.6 million books, less than one percent of this library’s collection.
Unfortunately, all the books had reduced to ash. It wasn’t simply that extensive research on them was impossible; even seeing the content written on the covers was now beyond reach.
As Yan Fei lanted the loss, a voice suddenly echoed through the room. Though gentle, the voice carried an inexplicable eeriness. It spoke sentences in a language Yan Fei had never heard, leaving him unable to comprehend its aning. He imdiately activated his Auxiliary Brain to attempt translation, only to discover that even it was powerless to decipher the speech.
Yan Fei paused for a mont and spoke through the battle armor’s amplifier: “Who… Who is speaking?”
The voice stopped briefly before resuming, once again in the incomprehensible language. Yan Fei still couldn’t understand what it was trying to communicate.
Yan Fei responded, “I can’t understand you. Can you speak Mandarin?”
He had rely been probing, not expecting results. Yet suddenly, the voice shifted, transforming into speech Yan Fei could understand: “Honored library user, is there sothing I can assist you with?”
Yan Fei was stunned. Was this truly a library, and was this entity capable of comprehensible speech? He imdiately replied, “Who are you? What is this place?”
The gentle voice explained, “I am the Library Administrator. This is our largest library, and I’m here to help users access its diverse collection of books.”
Yan Fei inquired, “What was the language you previously spoke? Why couldn’t I understand it at all?”
The voice answered, “What I spoke earlier was our Universal Language. What you speak now is one of the common languages of the outside world. That’s why you couldn’t understand . However, I’ve adapted my language system so that I now communicate in your language, allowing you to understand .”
Yan Fei thought of his Artificial Intelligence, ‘Dream,’ and asked, “Are you a human, Artificial Intelligence, or just a program?”
The gentle voice responded, “I am not human, nor am I Artificial Intelligence. I lack the ability to think autonomously and can only handle functions related to this library. Thus, I am best classified as a program—a smart program dedicated to managing the library.”
Curiosity gripped Yan Fei, and he asked, “Where did you originate? Who is your creator? Who built this library?”
The Library Administrator replied, “Honored library user, your questions pertain to our species’ evolutionary history and historical knowledge. Would you like to learn the complete details about our species’ evolution and history?”
Yan Fei felt his heart stir and answered, “Yes, I’d be very interested in learning your species’ evolutionary history and historical knowledge.”
The Library Administrator responded, “Contained within my database is an exceptional docuntary detailing our species’ evolutionary journey and historical knowledge. Through this docuntary, you can gain comprehensive insight into our history. Once you’ve finished watching, you’ll naturally have answers to your questions. Now, please allow to play the docuntary for you. I will project it using laser projection to display the contents.”
As soon as the words were spoken, the library’s light dimd to its lowest setting. From the ceiling above Yan Fei, a cascade of laser beams was emitted, converging into a three-dinsional virtual screen. On this screen erged a vast, intricate depiction of the Milky Way galaxy.
Seeing the holographic projection of the galaxy on the virtual screen, Yan Fei’s heart surged with excitent. He had a gut feeling that he was about to uncover a chapter of history long buried. Through this docuntary, he might be able to unravel unsolved mysteries of Earth and provide answers to his lingering doubts…
