Chapter 1604: Chapter 623: No Coincidence, No Story

Even though Kenshi Ito had obtained control of Yamata no Orochi, he had no idea about its exact origin. He only knew that a long ti ago, Yamata no Orochi appeared in Japan and demonstrated imnse destructive power. The terrified ancestors of Japan, lacking scientific knowledge, regarded this apocalyptic serpent as a mythical creature and passed down tales of it for generations.

But in truth, Yamata no Orochi was a technological product, specifically a high-tech integrated combat system platform designed for warfare. It could move swiftly on land like a snake, tunnel underground like an earthworm, swim stealthily underwater, and even survive extended periods in scorching magma, using the imnse energy within magma to repair itself.

In short, Yamata no Orochi’s capabilities were incredibly powerful. Aside from being unable to fly, it could be considered almost omnipotent…

Under Kenshi Ito’s control, Yamata no Orochi dived into the deep sea, traveling stealthily along the ocean floor 500 ters below the surface. While its speed underwater was not as fast as Yan Fei’s Drone Avatar, it outpaced all other marine vessels and submarines on Earth. Within just six hours, Yamata no Orochi had covered a distance of 1,000 kiloters and was closing in on the waters surrounding Dream Island.

After a series of fortunate encounters, Kenshi Ito’s confidence had swelled imnsely following his triumph over the Oogawa Family dostically. However, upon learning about the strength of Dream Island and Yan Fei from the Japanese military, he had retained a shred of rationality. As Yamata no Orochi approached Dream Island, Kenshi Ito slowed its advance, cautiously and ticulously edging towards the island.

In recent years, Yan Fei had focused heavily on constructing Dream Island’s defense system, which included not only an array of formidable weapon systems but also an extensive network of surveillance equipnt. This surveillance network encompassed space-based satellites, aerial radar, drones launched from Dream Island, mariti ships and equipnt, and even an intricate array of anti-submarine devices and listening networks installed on the ocean floor. These systems provided real-ti information support to the island’s defense system, ensuring the absolute security of Dream Island.

As Yamata no Orochi neared the waters of Dream Island, its monitoring instrunts detected the underwater surveillance network deployed by the island. Unfortunately, Dream Island’s surveillance system was designed to detect conventional ships and submarines on Earth, whereas Yamata no Orochi’s technological sophistication far exceeded Earth’s current technological level. Thus, while Yamata no Orochi detected the underwater monitors of Dream Island, the island itself remained unaware of its approach.

This mont revealed a significant vulnerability in Dream Island’s defense system. However, this was an apex confrontation between two entirely different levels of technology. Dream Island had no choice but to be outclassed by Yamata no Orochi. Still, the island’s defense did not rely solely on surveillance equipnt. To ensure no possibility of intrusion, Yan Fei had deployed a vast number of physical anti-submarine netlines around the waters near Dream Island using Artificial Whales. These netlines were incredibly durable yet extraordinarily thin, covered with sensors capable of detecting any submarine that might evade the island’s monitoring systems. Should such a vessel co into contact with these netlines, it would imdiately alert the island, dooming the invader to certain death.

Yamata no Orochi’s advanced technology enabled it to detect the physical anti-submarine netlines as soon as it entered these waters. Although Kenshi Ito was arrogant, he was not reckless; he dared not risk touching these netlines. Thus, he slowed Yamata no Orochi’s advance further, cautiously maneuvering around the netlines.

This careful evasion of the physical netlines caused Yamata no Orochi’s position to gradually shift closer to the sea surface. Eventually, the serpent reached a depth of just 100 ters below the surface. Yet, even at this shallow depth, Yamata no Orochi remained undetected by Dream Island’s surveillance equipnt—a testant to its exceptional capabilities.

By the ti Yamata no Orochi carefully approached a location 10 kiloters from Dream Island’s coastline, the local ti on the island was already 10:30 in the morning. Kenshi Ito, after his prior investigations of Dream Island, had so understanding of its layout. He chose to target the northern direction for his landing, as this area was largely undeveloped and rarely patrolled. He believed that with sufficient caution, he had no need to worry about being discovered by Dream Island’s defenses.

However, at this proximity, both the sea surface and the ocean floor were densely covered with anti-submarine equipnt. No matter how advanced Yamata no Orochi was, it was now facing trouble—it was impossible to proceed without alerting Dream Island. Thus, Kenshi Ito had no choice but to halt in this stretch of ocean to make adjustnts and prepare for a nightti assault on the island.

Kenshi Ito had drawn close to Dream Island, but for the mont, an attack was out of the question. This made him restless and anxious. Left without other options, he surfaced Yamata no Orochi to a depth of 20 ters below the sea surface and deployed its Water Surface Observation Equipnt to survey Dream Island from afar, identifying targets for the nightti raid.

anwhile, in the northern territorial waters of Dream Island, 100 kiloters from the island’s coastline, a lone figure was sprinting rapidly across the sea’s surface. This person was short in stature but utterly disheveled. Their hair was matted into clumps, their face smudged with gri, and their clothes were torn and tattered, giving their figure an oddly bloated appearance.
