Chapter 1208: Chapter 476 “Dream” Escapes Trouble_3 Chapter 1208: Chapter 476 “Dream” Escapes Trouble_3 The United States military, unable to contact the two strategic nuclear submarines, was as anxious as ants on a hot pan. They were terrified that these submarines might actually get close to Dream Island and then launch a nuclear attack. If that happened, it surely would provoke a powerful nuclear retaliation from Dream Island, and the entire United States of Arica could be annihilated.
Given Dream Island’s previous restraint—in attacking both the last Arican rocket launch center and Micha Island—these locations were desolate and unpopulated, causing little to no Arican casualties. But if angered, Dream Island wouldn’t hold back anymore when launching their nuclear weapons. They’d target the most strategically valuable Arican cities, and such an attack would result in catastrophic Arican losses…
Previously, Dream Island had created two artificial whales: one for sea-surface anti-ship and air defense combat and the other specifically for undersea anti-submarine warfare. To achieve optimal anti-submarine effectiveness, the latter even sacrificed all its sea-surface attack capabilities. However, this sacrifice was deed worthwhile, as it endowed the anti-submarine artificial whale with robust deep-sea combat capabilities.
After more than a year of releasing its sonar net on the seafloor, the anti-submarine artificial whale had built an impeccable super anti-submarine net within 500 kiloters around Dream Island. In this area of the ocean floor, any small disturbance would be imdiately detected by Yan Fei.
So, as the two Arican strategic nuclear submarines just entered the 500-kiloter periter of Dream Island waters, they were discovered by the pervasive undersea sonar net. Then the anti-submarine whale transmitted this intelligence to Yan Fei via “Dream.”
In Yan Fei’s original plan, upon detecting an invading submarine, the anti-submarine artificial whale should have imdiately engaged to sink the invader. However, being 500 kiloters away from Dream Island and due to a severe shortage of artificial whales, it couldn’t imdiately destroy the invading submarines.
With Dream Island and the United States in a state of war, discovering the Arican strategic nuclear submarines approaching Dream Island made Yan Fei extrely nervous. He even feared that the Aricans had seen through his secrets. Thus, he imdiately controlled a drone to fly to the submarines’ vicinity and then entered the sea to approach the two strategic submarines in stealth mode.
Arican strategic nuclear submarines, compared to attack submarines, are not only larger but also capable of diving deeper, operating with less noise, and maintaining better concealnt. However, under the super anti-submarine net and the all-seeing Quantum Radar Scan, these submarines were promptly detected by Yan Fei.
Compared to the Arican attack submarines, the strategic nuclear submarines represented strategic deterrence, possessing the nuclear capability to destroy an entire nation. For this reason, their offensive power beneath the sea surface was notably weak. Once detected, their fate was essentially sealed—especially when detected by Earth’s most formidable, Yan Fei’s Drone Avatar.
Yan Fei, using the Quantum Radar, locked onto the two Arican strategic nuclear submarines and then launched six torpedo version AGM-129 Stealth Cruise Missiles from the launch tubes beneath the drone, targeting each submarine with three missiles. Unsurprisingly, the AGM-129 Stealth Cruise Missiles released by the drone sank both strategic nuclear submarines.
The United States had implented exceptional protective asures on their strategic nuclear submarines. So even though they were sunk by the drone, the nuclear weapons they carried didn’t explode but instead sunk to the ocean floor at a depth of 8,000 ters along with the submarines. This rendered Yan Fei’s precaution of staying beyond the torpedo’s maximum attack range to prevent a nuclear detonation unnecessary.
