Chapter 1099: 438 Chapter 1099: 438 At a critical mont, Yan Fei suddenly recovered important mories and determined that both he and Wen Rou’s child were not products of a fantasy world but truly existed. He then used this real mory to see through a conspiracy where soone was impersonating Black and White Impermanence to extract his secrets.

It was the awakening of this mory that made Yan Fei notice that the space around him was sowhat abnormal; it was incredibly illusory, a spiritual space created by others. The reason the room was filled with white light was that white light is the simplest setting, one that wouldn’t reveal any flaws. Also, it was because he had fallen into soone else’s spiritual space that Yan Fei could not break through the spiritual blockade, could not absorb the Heavenly and Earthly Spiritual Qi from the outside world, and consequently lost the abilities of a God-Level Expert, becoming an ordinary person.

After realizing that this was a virtual spiritual space, Yan Fei had no hesitation, and instantly killed the Black and White Impermanence confronting him. Black and White Impermanence were the two most critical stabilizing points of this spiritual space. Once they disappeared, the spiritual space was about to collapse, and the Light Portal that reappeared was the only way out of this spiritual space.

Yan Fei stepped forward, placed his hand on the handle of the Light Portal, and was about to turn the handle to open it. However, at that mont, Yan Fei’s brain began to experience strange fluctuations, and the previously certain thought that Wen Rou’s child in her belly truly existed started to waver; that extrely real sensation began to dissipate.

Then, Yan Fei involuntarily began to reflect. He was a God-Level Expert with incredibly powerful spiritual power. How could such mighty spiritual power be silently manipulated by soone else’s? How strong then was the spiritual power of the enemy who had invaded his mind? Now it seed that the person controlling Yan Fei’s spiritual space didn’t seem to be specifically targeting him; even Black and White Impermanence hadn’t attacked him.

Yan Fei then began to doubt whether Black and White Impermanence truly existed; whether their words were true; whether he had wrongly blad them, and in fact, they had co to help him. Could it be possible that he was stubborn and refused to acknowledge reality, thus driving away the Black and White Impermanence who were guiding him? Was he, as Black and White Impermanence had said, clinging to the beauty of the fantasy world, unwilling to leave this virtual fantasy world, and destined to forever sink into it?

Although Yan Fei could not attract the spiritual Qi of Heaven and Earth, his sensory perception of his body could not possibly be wrong. His body had been strengthened several tis and would not just disappear for no reason. He had just discovered that he had suddenly beco an unenhanced ordinary person, but what on earth was going on?

Yan Fei didn’t know when it started, but he could no longer make sense of his current situation. Ever since he had pushed through that previous Light Portal, his mory had beco incredibly confused; sotis he would forget very important mories, and at other tis, he would suddenly awaken mories he had never paid attention to before, and then the authenticity of these mories would keep flipping between reality and fiction. This caused an unprecedented confusion in his mories, and he was no longer able to clarify his thoughts and make the correct decisions.

For the current Yan Fei, this feeling was very unpleasant; he felt either his mind was in disarray, or his mories were being manipulated. However, Yan Fei couldn’t find any thods to prove which situation he was in. Perhaps the answer he sought… lay behind the Light Portal ahead.

After hesitating for a while, Yan Fei took a deep breath, still turned the handle on the door, opened the Light Portal, and walked into the world behind it.

———————————————————————————

Yan Fei was in a muddled state when he suddenly heard soone calling his na by his ear. The voice was very ethereal, sotis loud, sotis faint, sotis distant, sotis close…

Suddenly, Yan Fei snapped out of his muddled state and felt his eyelids heavy as Mount Tai, simply unable to open them. After several attempts, using all his strength, he finally opened his eyes. Then he saw that his vision was blurry, unable to clearly see his surroundings. He blinked hard, and his vision gradually returned.

In front of Yan Fei was a white wall with a large white bulb on it. He slled the scent of formaldehyde disinfectant in his nose. A sowhat familiar woman ca into view, her mouth opening and closing as she shouted loudly at him.

Yan Fei was startled for a mont before realizing who it was, and he reached out to grab the woman, saying, “Little Rou, what are you doing here?”

The woman who had been shouting Yan Fei’s na was none other than Wen Rou. However, Wen Rou seed different from usual; she was dressed in a pink nurse’s uniform and was looking at Yan Fei warily.

Yan Fei imdiately sensed sothing was wrong because he was lying on a hospital bed, wearing patient clothing, and his hands and feet were tied with restraint straps, fixing him in a spread-eagle position on the bed and allowing only minimal movent. Although he had grabbed Wen Rou’s hand, she struggled slightly and imdiately freed herself from Yan Fei’s grasp, then carefully moved away from his bed.

Wen Rou cautiously asked, “Mr. Yan Fei, how are you feeling today?”

Yan Fei was puzzled. Why was Wen Rou, who should be in The United States of Arica looking for her biological parents, suddenly here? Why was Wen Rou acting strangely towards him? Why was she speaking to him in a detached tone? Most critically, why was he tied to a hospital bed?
