The reason is quite simple.

As everyone knows, Dou Dou has a hundred million fans; these fans are its eyes and ears, so it makes sense that it would have news even before the people involved do.

Quantitative changes lead to qualitative changes, an eternal truth.

Well, after watching the video and hearing the news, Qiao Ze wasn't sure about the reason behind Xu Dajiang's appointnt anymore...

Logically, if they wanted him to go to the Capital, Xu Dajiang's transfer should be to the Capital, but it was to Linhai instead.

Is it that Xu's acting skills had beco so poor that no one wanted to see him anymore?

But then again, becoming a vice-chancellor at a Linhai university, where the institution's level isn't even lower than Xilin University of Technology, might be considered a promotion.

This left Qiao Ze uncertain as to whether this appointnt really matched Xu Dajiang's aspirations.

"Eh? Xu's appointnt is a promotion, right? I've heard it's really hard to get into the schools in Linhai," Su Mucheng said, surprised, listening to Dou Dou's report.

"Yeah, it should be," Qiao Ze nodded.

He wasn't very clear on how hard it was to get into the universities in Linhai.

But going from being the head of a second-level school to a vice-chancellor of a university probably counts as a promotion.

"However, I've heard my dad say that sotis it's better to be the head of a chicken than the tail of a phoenix. At least Xu was the head of the School of Mathematics. If he was promoted within the sa school, the position would be more secure, and he would have so foundation.

"If he's transferred directly to Linhai, even if he becos a vice-chancellor, he's probably going to be the last in the pecking order. Without any solid base, he could end up dealing with all the unwanted, dirty work others throw at him. And without any subordinates to command, it can get pretty tough," Su Mucheng said, curling her lip.

Frankly, Su Mucheng didn't care too much whether Xu Dajiang got a promotion or not.

What mattered to her was whether the new dean would be as understanding and fair as Xu, which was quite important to her.

For instance, she had hardly ever attended classes, but Comrade Xu always greeted her with a smile.

If they got an old-school dean who nagged her, that would be bad.

Not that Su was afraid of failing. She could handle final exams just fine.

The professors wouldn't trouble her out of respect for Qiao Ze, but she didn't want to be nagged at.

So, after making her comnt, Su Mucheng asked, "Dou Dou, if Xu leaves, who will take over as dean?"

"It's not decided yet, Mommy. There are quite a few candidates, more than ten. Do you want to list them all?"

"Not for now," Qiao Ze shook his head, saying.

He hadn't determined whether Xu Dajiang actually wanted to leave, so for now, he didn't need to know who the successor would be.

Just as Su Mucheng had said, Xu Dajiang's promotion might not be a good thing.

Their cooperation was in sync. As he said in the video, if Xu Dajiang didn't want to go to Linhai, he might as well create his own research institute and let him be the dean. Giving him so administrative tasks to handle would be reassuring.

Luckily, he was always prepared for both outcos.

Su Mucheng imdiately understood what Qiao Ze ant: "Qiao, are you planning to ask the dean what he thinks?"

"Yeah."

"Don't make a phone call, though. If others knew we were aware of Xu's transfer in advance, it wouldn't be good. Ying said our calls might even be overheard by others."

Qiao Ze looked at Su Mucheng, surprised.

Su knew how to maintain friendships. Surprisingly, the other party even shared such things with her.

Still, Ying showed so professional integrity.

At least she had used "maybe" to preface it...

"I know. Xu's phone also has Dou Dou installed, and there's no problem using the video software I gave him," Qiao Ze clarified, already pulling out his phone and opening the video app.

The call connected quickly, and judging from the surroundings, Xu was in his ho study.

And he seed to be in a good mood at the mont.

The video had barely connected when, without waiting for Qiao Ze to speak, Xu began to report on the past few days' progress: "Haha, Qiao Ze, can't wait to get back to research? Don't rush, we're already seeing results. They're starting to reconsider the previous decision here. Now that your reluctance to leave Xilin is out in the open, any future transfers will undoubtedly have to get your consent first."

"I'm not in a hurry; I have other matters," Qiao Ze replied.

He wasn't in any rush indeed; he planned to wait until Yue Sheng Precision fabricated Dou Dou's body and tested it successfully before returning to the research institute.

This would probably take another two months.

He also intended to visit Youwei Headquarters in Shencheng to acquire the chips needed for Dou Dou's body.

If there was still ti, he would have Dou Dou look for an optics company in Huaxia that could produce the radio interferoter for room-temperature superconductor materials.

At the sa ti, he intended to keep an eye on whether there was any movent from the team at Yongchun Condensed Matter Physics Laboratory. If they were also seeking to do this, he'd lend a hand.

However, he wasn't very optimistic about the laboratory's chances of arranging a factory to research the device.

It wasn't a lack of faith in their ambition.

There aren't many labs in the country researching superconductivity, but there is certainly more than one. While everyone else was busy publishing papers, this team going all-in with this computation surely included an elent of gambling.

Having betted this far, it was impossible not to be tempted by the grand plans Dou Dou had presented.

The main issue was money.

If a problem could only be solved with money, it could cost ninety percent of people more than half their lives.

If soone dies and there's money left, that's a skit.

If soone is still alive but has spent their money long ago and is drowning in debt, that's the ordinary state of life.
