Hearing this news, Xu Dajiang felt his knees go weak and nearly knelt down on the spot.
God knows how much he had worried before receiving the accurate information.
Actually, like everyone else present, his mind wasn't really focused on Li Jian Gao's report; he had been anxiously awaiting the results from the university's supercomputer. Unfortunately, the computing process at the university hadn't even reached the halfway point, but the fact that Yanbei had results was just as good.
Barely steadying his nerves, Xu Dajiang could only pat his chest repeatedly and say, "That's good, that's good!"
In the front row, Chen Yuanzhi had also received the ssage, and the verification image was now lying quietly on his phone. He quickly handed it to Yang beside him, "Professor Yang, Yanbei University has already verified it. The general solution is correct."
Yang enlarged the image as much as he could, but unfortunately, due to the limitations of the phone screen, the characters in the picture still looked a bit blurry. However, this didn't really matter, as no one would put out a fake verification ssage at this ti.
Qiao Ze's results had been announced to the whole world. At this mont, there must be at least twenty or thirty supercomputers around the world working on verifying this issue. It was rely a question of whether the results would co out sooner or later.
"That's very good, very good..." Yang murmured softly to himself. Attending such a lengthy conference was an extrely draining affair for a centenarian, but receiving these results now brought a smile to the old man's face.
The general solution to the Yang-Mills Equations had been found, which ant the most important theory of his life was correct, and a complete mathematical frawork would be built based on this theory in the future. That was enough.
...
The commotion originating from the front row once again enlightened the students in the back.
So this is what high-level academic conferences feel like?
A group of scholars, who all looked quite stern, took the lead in breaking the conference discipline. Each of their voices was low, all whispering, but the combined buzz made it impossible for those in the back to hear what was being discussed on stage.
Naturally, the students couldn't help but get curious.
"What happened again?"
"I don't know! Let ask soone from the front..."
"Damn, I heard that the general solution given by God Qiao this morning has been verified by the supercomputer. Those professors are passing around the verification report from the supercomputer."
"What does that an? Since God Qiao already announced it at the conference, could it still be wrong?"
"Haven't you heard? It was the buzz at noon today. They say that the solution was derived by God Qiao last night, and he hadn't even verified it before he published it. That's why he announced the results ahead of ti, to let everyone verify it."
"You can do that at a conference? But what if it turned out to be wrong..."
"Who is God Qiao? I heard Dean Xu emphasized several tis at noon, God Qiao has checked it!"
"Wait, so if God Qiao has checked it, does that an it's as good as having been checked by a supercomputer? So the question is, in terms of strength, who wins between God Qiao's brain and a supercomputer?"
"That's tough to say, right? To be fair, each has its strengths and weaknesses."
"Heh, let's not talk about that. Who has a supercomputer that can solve the Yang-Mills Equations?"
"Talking like that, why don't you ask God Qiao to play a ga of Go against Alpha Dog and see who would win?"
"You'd only dare to say sothing like that here. Asking God Qiao to play Go, boy, the idea you ca up with... If God Qiao really listened to you, I reckon the esteed fellows in the front row would want to knock your head clean off..."
"You say that, but God Qiao isn't about to play Go. But who knows if his Dou Dou would play Go..."
"I think Dou Dou not only plays Go but I wouldn't put it past her to pull a fast one, like asking for a do-over! As a girl, if she doesn't keep her word, then she doesn't keep her word—should an artificial intelligence be saying things like that? This character is nearly branded a disgrace by AI fans!"
...
While the lively young students in the back started leading the conversation in various directions, Li Jian Gao had already noticed that sothing seed to be happening among the audience. But since his report was nearly finished, he simply sped up his speech without bothering about the noise below, quickly going through the last few PowerPoint slides.
Li Jian Gao didn't have the sa ambitious spirit as Qiao Ze nor could he afford to quibble with a group of top scholars from around the world. And not to ntion, many in the audience, including so of his forr ntors, would need to be addressed respectfully as "Professor."
Not to ntion that shortly after the report ended, a staff mber seized the opportunity to approach the podium and inford him of the news that Qiao Ze's general solution had already been verified by a supercomputer.
As the person who had introduced Qiao Ze, Li Jian Gao was naturally very happy to hear this news. Since it was for this reason... his presentation was really just a formality anyway. It didn't matter whether people wanted to listen.
And so, the Q&A session ultimately ca to a hasty conclusion.
But speaking of which, everyone still showed Li Jian Gao considerable respect. Many academicians raised their hands to ask questions, which was a sort of indirect support.
At four in the afternoon, the conference ended on ti, and the atmosphere beca even livelier.
Almost no one from the front row left; they were all waiting for Xu Dajiang to give a definitive word.
Will Qiao Ze attend the banquet this evening?
Well, even if he doesn't attend, there should at least be an opportunity for everyone to et Qiao Ze, right?
Everyone gave face to co to the conference; it doesn't make sense for the main presenter to remain unseen until now.
Even more people expressed the hope that Qiao Ze would co back tomorrow and explain his Super Helical Space Algebra theory in detail.
