Chapter 1215: Chapter 1201: Breakup Chapter 1215: Chapter 1201: Breakup Qing’er was still shocked. Could it be that he knew Ye Chen was not dead? With so much happening in the Thirty-Six Islands, as the Sect Leader, it would be understandable that he might have learned through other ans.
While speaking, Su Zhanze looked at Qing’er, who fluttered briefly—an obvious sign she likely knew Ye Chen was alive. He said, “You know Ye Chen is still alive. You must know.”
She did not show much emotional change but knew that he was harboring suspicions, suspecting that the lover she had just ntioned was Ye Chen. Misunderstandings were sothing Qing’er did not wish to see, so she quickly said, “Please don’t speculate wildly.”
Clearly, he still wanted to argue. Su Zhanze thought and then said, “Otherwise, why would you act like this? You’re thinking that once Yun’er is married, you can be with him, aren’t you?”
He was clearly becoming emotional and extrely agitated.
He hadn’t changed and probably never would in this lifeti, which made Qing’er even more resolute. Today she had to put an end to this, to give him closure. But the issues concerning Fang Ziren and Ren Xiongbei worried her. With Su Zhanze’s temperant, would he seek revenge? But she couldn’t back down. Seeing this man who would never grow up, she had to end it today.
“That kid probably won’t live much longer.” Su Zhanze learned quite a bit about the situation on the Thirty-Six Islands through Ling Li.
After living for so long, how could he not realize there was sothing off between the two? Wanting to change soone was just too hard. Qing’er said, “Please, don’t let your imagination run wild. The issues between us have nothing to do with others.”
Impossible! Su Zhanze thought, then said, “You’ve already admitted it, what is there to argue?”
He was indeed misunderstanding her. Qing’er also beca a bit agitated as she said, “Alright, I’ll make it clear today why I don’t want to be with you. Is it because we are not on the sa path?”
“What do you an we’re not on the sa path?” Trying to deceive him, and even daring to say they’re not on the sa path, Su Zhanze thought bitterly. There was no need to make up such a lie just to be with Ye Chen. How could she shift the bla onto him? It was infuriating.
“I know all about the matter with Fang Ziren and Ren Xiongbei.”
Looking at her skeptically, Su Zhanze asked, “What do you know?”
“Fang Ziren disfigured your face, almost driving you into demonic insanity. In retaliation, you arranged for Ren Xiongbei to set a trap for Fang Ziren, and in the end, you stole the second half of the secret manual. Shall I continue?”
Su Zhanze was stunned; she definitely knew sothing. But how could she know? He began to doubt.
“Don’t ask how I know.”
“Yes, I admit I did those things. I wanted revenge. I saved him, and he threw off a cliff. I nearly died. Though I didn’t die, I beca a ghastly sight,” ranted Su Zhanze, with a touch of madness.
“Perhaps not. You might have wanted revenge, but you also wanted the secret manual, didn’t you? More importantly, to fra Ren Xiongbei,” Guo Yuqing said bluntly, no longer mincing her words. Since everything was already out in the open, she might as well say it.
The only people who knew about these events were his close ones, and later, Yuan Jingxing. That’s right—if Yuan Jingxing knew, then Jiang Shizi might as well, and the girl could’ve told her. Damn it, how did he not foresee this? He said, “Ren Xiongbei was no good man either. Without him, we wouldn’t have been captured, nor would your father’s subsequent events have happened, and we wouldn’t be like this now.”
Qing’er was thoroughly exasperated. He always pushed the bla onto others, always like this, never seeing his own faults. She seriously doubted how she could continue being with a person like this. Even if it ant being alone for the rest of her life, she did not wish to continue with him.
“Right, Ren Xiongbei is indeed not a good man, but he didn’t deserve death. Framing him ruined his reputation, and he died a tragic death. Ren Haotian’s life or death remains unclear, but I suspect he’s dead. Because of the events under Immortal City, none of this matters anymore. I don’t wish to ntion them again. But I must say, no matter how bad Ren Xiongbei was, Ren Haotian grew up with us. Don’t you have a heart? Haven’t you ever considered our friendship?”
Su Zhanze looked at Guo Yuqing, taking a long ti before saying, “I didn’t think so much at the ti.”
“Is that so! Perhaps you wanted more than revenge; you also aid for the position of the Sect Leader. And in the end, you succeeded, didn’t you!”
Su Zhanze looked dumbfounded, as if completely exposed—and by the very person he least wanted to expose him.
The atmosphere beca much tenser.
Guo Yuqing’s purpose in saying all this was clear: she did not want him to misunderstand that her unwillingness to be with him was because of Ye Chen. But she didn’t know if the person before her would understand. Perhaps he would never understand—or maybe he didn’t even want to.
This had to be an excuse, definitely an excuse.
“Let’s go. We really are not suited for each other.”
“Can’t you consider the past and give a chance to start over? I can’t change what happened before. I was really angry when my face was ruined, which is why I did those things. If I had another chance, I wouldn’t do the sa.”
Qing’er no longer wanted to discuss this topic. The more she talked, the more she realized that her hasty decision to marry him was a mistake. He would just repeat his demands for chances over and over, and Ye Chen would never act like him.
“There’s no need to bother my mother anymore. We really are not suitable for each other. You should find soone more suited to you.” Qing’er stood up, having said all that she wanted to. Continuing to talk would be redundant. If he still didn’t understand after all this, then more words were just a waste.
“Is it really that hard just to say that you’re doing this because you like Ye Chen?” Su Zhanze called out as Qing’er was about to enter her room.
“If that’s what you think, there’s nothing I can do.” Qing’er really felt frustrated, further convinced that they were not ant for each other. Being together would only be agony.
Luo Rui ca in with the washed fruit, only to see Su Zhanze hurrying out. She guessed that sothing must have happened and quickly asked, “Su Zhanze, what’s going on?”
Su Zhanze didn’t answer but just nodded in acknowledgnt before rushing off.
Luo Rui hurried into the room and asked, “Did you two have a fight?”
“We’ve cleared things up. He has nothing to do with anymore.”
Luo Rui was taken aback. She didn’t yet know that Jiang Shizi had co to Demon Palace City to tell Qing’er about Fang Ziren and Ren Xiongbei. Muttering, she said, “Didn’t you say before that you wanted to give him a chance?” She had every reason to suspect that Qing’er’s actions were because of Ye Chen.
Guo Yuqing looked over, recalling Su Zhanze’s immature words, and said, “We’re truly not suitable for each other.”
“Why aren’t you suitable all of a sudden? It’s not because of Ye Chen, is it?” Luo Rui had every reason to suspect, especially after Qing’er decided not to tell Yun’er that Ye Chen was still alive, and then declared they weren’t suitable.
Guo Yuqing looked over and said, “Why would you think that too?”
“I have every reason to think that. You just decided today not to tell Yun’er and then made such a big decision. But you said before that you wanted to give Su Zhanze a chance.”
Facing Luo Rui’s indignation, Qing’er couldn’t not tell her the reason, saying, “I’m really not the right person for him. Do you know that from beginning to end, the whole affair with Fang Ziren and Ren Xiongbei was orchestrated by Su Zhanze?”
Luo Rui had no idea what Guo Yuqing ant.
“Alright, I’ll just tell you.” And with that, Qing’er rapidly explained the whole affair.
Luo Rui was stunned, hardly daring to believe it was true, and asked, “How did you co to know all this?”
“The last ti Jiang Shizi was here, she told herself. She found out everything by eavesdropping on Su Zhanze and Yuan Jingxing’s conversation.”
“So, making Fang Ziren go mad and causing Ren Xiongbei’s death were all Su Zhanze’s doing? It was all a sche?”
Guo Yuqing replied, “The incident with Fang Ziren was his doing, but whether he killed Ren Xiongbei is still unknown. However, the possibility is high since Ren Xiongbei knew everything. Even if he didn’t kill Ren Xiongbei, he indirectly caused his death by framing him, which led to Ren Xiongbei’s disgrace and ultimately secured for himself the position of Sect Leader. It’s like killing three birds with one stone.”
Luo Rui was almost dumbfounded and said, “How could he do such a thing?”
“He said it was for revenge, for those who made him what he is now. I believe it’s possible, but his thods are terrifying. He is no longer the Su Zhanze he used to be.”
Luo Rui felt a chill down her spine and said, “You could have at least told , I was still trying to matchmake you two.”
“It’s impossible anyway. I can’t be with soone like that, even if it ans being alone for the rest of my life.”
Luo Rui looked at Guo Yuqing, seemingly with understanding.
Guo Yuqing continued, “He will never change. He’ll always just want more chances, never reflecting on his own faults, lacking generosity and tolerance. He’s just a spoiled child.”
“By rejecting him like this, he won’t do anything extre, will he?” Luo Rui continued, “Confronting him like this is a big shock to him.”
Guo Yuqing hadn’t thought about that and had been intent on making a clean break, saying, “It’s better to make things clear. Since I’ve already thought it through, what else is there to say? He’s not a child anymore, and whatever his childishness, he should still be capable as a Sect Leader and not do sothing foolish.”
“But you should have told before you talked to him so I could be prepared. Otherwise, I can’t help thinking that you did all this because of Ye Chen.”
“You little minx, you did that on purpose, didn’t you?”
“Who says I did it on purpose? Anyone would think that way. I bet Su Zhanze is thinking the sa.”
Qing’er looked over, pausing for a mont. She had said everything she wanted to say. What he thought, in the end, did not matter to her.
