Chapter 1016: Chapter 1002: Shark Fin Horned Dragon Chapter 1016: Chapter 1002: Shark Fin Horned Dragon “You really are full of nonsense,” Nangong Yan added, “Since this is the Iron Ten Thousand Bandits’ ship, it’s very likely that the Iron Ten Thousand Bandits are on this ‘Carefree’ right now.”

“Aren’t you a little too curious? They really might make you bear their children if they catch you. We boarded this ship to get to Sacred Spirit Island.”

“Might as well find out while we’re at it. It could co in handy at so point.” Nangong Yan felt there was nothing else to do anyway.

“You really are bored to death.”

They walked into the food storage, which was essentially a miniature Inn. Although the space was small, it had two floors, each with seven or eight tables, all of which were surprisingly full.

It was only after so difficulty that the two found a table that had just emptied out, but those dozen or so people had been led upstairs in the company of a gentleman nad Qian.

That Mr. Qian was definitely no simple character; everyone treated him with great respect as if no one else there possessed a higher status, which made Nangong Yan highly suspicious of his identity.

Opposite them, in a corner of the wall, was an old man and a young girl who were dressed rather shabbily. The elderly man sat on a chair playing the erhu, while the girl, who seed about twelve or thirteen years old, was standing, clapping together two bamboo clappers rhythmically, narrating trivial tales of the martial world.

The performance captivated the audience, who continuously applauded.

Ye Chen ordered a pot of tea, peanuts, and a basket of at buns and asked, “You don’t really fancy that guy, do you? He’s an old geezer, good for nothing. You’d be better off looking at .”

“With his attire, that aura, and the way those people eagerly cater to him, he must be soone significant.”

“If I had money, people would fawn over too. Forget about him—they all just want to get their hands on his silver taels, so of course they stick to him like glue.” Ye Chen cracked open peanuts and sipped his tea.

“You dimwit, that’s not what I’m talking about. I an, he might be one of Iron Ten Thousand Bandits.”

Ye Chen glanced over and said, “No way. Shouldn’t a person from the Iron Ten Thousand Bandits look really fierce and intimidating?”

“Then should the people from Immortal dicine Island look like divine pills that make you want to gobble them up the mont you see them?” Nangong Yan blurted.

“Well, that’s true, but you indeed look delicious enough for soone to want to eat you right away.”

“Can’t you ever be serious? I’m discussing important matters with you.”

“What are you trying to do, exactly?”

“I want to figure out what they’re up to, who Shao Hengjiang is, and who Wan Liyun is.”

“Wow, you’re really not afraid of getting caught. Everyone here belongs to the Iron Ten Thousand Bandits. It’s already dangerous, so don’t think about dragging into this ss.” Ye Chen was sowhat taken aback.

“What could possibly go wrong? With your martial arts being so good, how could they possibly know we’re on this ship?”

“You really think they’re all fools, huh? They know this place like the back of their hand. If we’re not careful, they really might throw us overboard to feed the fish.”

The at buns arrived quickly, and Ye Chen was already famished after being busy all morning. How could he not be hungry?

Suddenly, a burly man walked in. He weighed at least two hundred pounds, akin to a Mongolian giant with a face full of short beard stubble, which starkly contrasted with the clean-shaven Mr. Qian. As soon as he saw Mr. Qian upstairs, he bellowed, “Big brother, so you were here too.” His outfit may have resembled that of a rchant, but his deanor clearly indicated otherwise, especially since he barged in shouting as if no one else was around.

The Qian Manor Master stood up, signaling him to co upstairs, and unlike the burly man below, he was much more prudent.

The big man made his way up shortly thereafter.

All this did not escape Nangong Yan’s notice, who then ntioned, “I heard that Wan Liyun is a big guy with a short beard.”

“There are plenty of big guys with short beards around; not all of them might be the Wan Liyun you’re talking about.”

“I know there are many people with short beards, but there aren’t many on this ship, and none as brawny and disdainful as him,” Nangong Yan said.

“Perhaps Iron Two Thousand Bandits is on another ship and might not have co along.”

“That’s purely your conjecture.”

“You’re conjecturing too.”

The big man’s voice was loud, but as he reached the second floor, it softened considerably. He was no longer shouting or bellowing as before.

“Let’s just eat sothing, and quit being so curious. Even if you really figure out who they are, what’s the use? You’re not planning to charm him with a honey trap, seduce him, and spend a night with him, only to end up as a pancake, are you?”

Nangong Yan poured himself a cup of tea and gulped it down noisily, then protested, “I’m not going back to that dormitory to sleep.”

“What, are you really going to the chicken and duck cabin? You’ll end up slling like chicken droppings. I’ve been blowing on it for half a day, and I can still sll it,” Ye Chen said.

Nangong Yan still wanted to clear up whether Mr. Qian was indeed the leader of the Iron Ten Thousand Bandits.

After summoning a Waiter to inquire, they learned his na was Qian Jiang and the man who went upstairs was Qian Hai. They even heard others talking about the two brothers, the island they hailed from, the business they were in, and so on.

Hearing all this made Nangong Yan even more suspicious. She asked, “Are they really brothers?”

“Could there be any doubt?” the Waiter answered.

Nangong Yan had the waiter leave.

“They’re definitely not real brothers, they must be imposters.”

Ye Chen, gnawing on a stead bun, was more interested in listening to the storytellers, he laughed and asked, “How can you be so sure they’re not brothers?”

Nangong Yan said, “Brothers, looking so different? They don’t resemble each other at all.”

Ye Chen chuckled and replied, “Who said their father couldn’t have married two wives, one beautiful, the other ugly?”

“Do you think that’s possible!” Nangong Yan said coldly.

“Why not? It’s not as if by saying you resemble that surna Qian, you’d be her daughter.” And truth be told, Nangong Yan did bear a striking resemblance to surna Qian, especially those eyes—it was as if they were carved from the sa mold.

“You’re really talking nonsense.”

“But actually, you do bear so resemblance to him, especially the eyes.”

“Enough, do you particularly enjoy making fun of others?”

“And that nose of yours, twitching up and down, also shares a similarity.”

Nangong Yan was already glaring at him.

Ye Chen quickly lowered his head and continued to eat, saying, “Stop glaring, we have a lot to get through this afternoon. If you want to finish early, then let’s hurry up, otherwise, you can forget about sleeping tonight.” Without realizing it, noon had already passed.

Ye Chen and Nangong Yan returned to the warehouse. It was deserted at the ti. Ye Chen opened the door, and Nangong Yan headed straight for the secret room, first pressing her ear against it, listening. It seed quiet.

Suddenly, she took a piece of wire out of her bosom.

“What are you doing?”

“Obviously, I’m opening it,” Nangong Yan said.

“You still don’t know what’s inside; it might eat you once it’s open.”

Nangong Yan wouldn’t be so easily frightened by his words. She inserted the wire into the lock, and with a click, the lock opened.

Ye Chen tensed up as the door slowly slid open, and Nangong Yan grew nervous as well, inching forward to see a large, hollow iron gate, a secret chamber fashioned from a gigantic cage.

The sound of water started up again.

There was water beneath the trough, and a creature longer than ten zhang, with fish-like fins, crawled up. Apparently attracted by the light, the brightness had caught its attention.

With a thunderous pounce, it launched an unexpected dash forward, grabbing onto the iron bars, scaring Nangong Yan into retreating repeatedly. However, it was blocked by the iron cage inside.

The creature let out a roar like a tiger ready to attack. Ye Chen and Nangong Yan were frightened, but they recognized the creature because its arm bore a scratch mark left by Ye Chen’s thrown iron hook.

It was the sa creature they had encountered on the Sovereign Skies, more than ten zhang long, resembling a python with a Fire Qilin-like head, displaying sickle-like teeth, and sharp claws. However, it was now confined within the cage, still trying to extend its claws to grab soone.

Ye Chen kicked the door back in place, and the iron gate shut abruptly.

Nangong Yan, breaking out in a cold sweat, turned and glanced at Ye Chen, saying, “You see it clearly now, right?”

Ye Chen nodded slightly.

“It’s the Horned Dragon that attacked our Sovereign Skies.” She would not forget. It was that sa creature that almost caused her to be lost at sea. Had it not been for the Horned Dragon, she wouldn’t have been injured nor would she have ended up on this desolate island.

Ye Chen helped her to her feet.

Nangong Yan was still pondering who amongst the pirates had the audacity to do this. It hadn’t occurred to her that it would be the Iron Ten Thousand Bandits. She realized it instantly and said, “Good, it was all the doing of Iron Ten Thousand Bandits. I was wondering who had such gall.”

Ye Chen quickly locked the door, worrying the creature would fly out again. He didn’t want another thrilling encounter.

“So it was Iron Ten Thousand Bandits.” Nangong Yan seed to flare up, with Qi Xue and Eldest Senior Brother’s fates unknown. It turned out that all of this was thanks to Iron Ten Thousand Bandits—her eyes shone with a fierce light.

“Stop yelling here,” Ye Chen whispered, fearing that others might be alerted.

“Yelling? It’s Iron Ten Thousand Bandits, those bastards, who have done this to us.”

“I know, but what can you do about it? You’re under their control now; what can you possibly do?”

Ye Chen picked up the shovel, ready to get back to work.

“I’m not finished with Iron Ten Thousand Bandits,” Nangong Yan exclaid, pacing back and forth incessantly. If not for the confirmation of the creature inside, they would still be in the dark. Now, things were as clear as day.

“I’m going to kill those bastards.”

“Sure, go and kill them. Just don’t drag into it. Let’s talk after I get off this ship—I don’t want to be enslaved.” Inside this vessel were essentially all Iron Ten Thousand Bandits’ n. Ye Chen just wanted to get to shore safely; he wanted nothing to do with the rest.
