Chapter 920: A Soul Device’s Purpose

Peacock Blue rapidly began to writhe, sending shattered stone into the void of space!

“This soul device really was prepared for ! It’s awakened!” Radix was so excited that he almost jumped!

Several minutes later, Xia Fei had a three-wave frisbee the color of white jade. This was three round frisbees put together. It was exquisitely crafted, and its aura was enormously powerful!
Xia Fei had never encountered this material in his artificiary studies. It was like ore yet not ore, like tal yet not tal. All in all, it was very strange.
“This is a soul device?” Xia Fei asked. “Why did Hosu leave you this?”
Radix laughed. “First, Hosu is the only person in the universe who can make soul devices. With discovering this, I was able to confirm that he’s still alive! Moreover, he’s telling through this exquisitely crafted soul device that he’s already recovered more than half of his cultivation and is once more standing at the apex!
“Second, I am an immortal soul, so no matter how my appearance changes, I’ll always need an item that can store my soul, and this soul device is perfect for that! Xia Fei imdiately grew interested. From the sound of it, the soul device was similar to the Celestial Zerohamr, capable of integrating many different elents together to make a weapon, but while the Celestial Zerohamr was the Law Realm’s thod, the soul device technology ca from beyond the Cosmic Gate!
“What an incredible device!” said Xia Fei in shock. “Still, I don’t understand. This is clearly matter integration re-engineering technology, so why is it called a soul device? What does it have to do with a soul?”
Radix answered, “The reason is very simple. While matter is still integrated, an immortal soul is required to use a soul device, and the divine weapon that erges will have its own consciousness. Not only will it be a weapon, it will be an ally that can think!”
Hearing this, Xia Fei looked down at the Blood Crystal. This bloodthirsty fiendish dagger was cruel and crazy, but it had no consciousness of its own. This was the Blood Crystal’s only flaw. Other than that, it was absurdly powerful!
Peacock Blue was also a weapon, but it could follow Xia Fei’s will and think for itself, its blades following him like shadows. anwhile, the Blood Crystal required Xia Fei to control it.
Radix added, “This is all I’ve learned from my recovered mories so far. Truly formidable armors and weapons have life forces. Just like all sapient lifeforms, they can capable of thought. They can be crafty at tis and they can also go crazy. This is probably the greatest difference between inside the Cosmic Gate and beyond.”
The mories that Radix was gradually recovering were a great boon to Xia Fei. Xia Fei now had so idea about what the world beyond the Cosmic Gate was like. For example, there were many people who used soul weapons with wills of their own beyond the gate.
Xia Fei could not help but worry. It was clear that weapons with wills of their own were much stronger when it ca to flexibility over the weapons of the Law Realm. Once the Cosmic Gate opened and the Inverse rushed in, an apocalyptic calamity would engulf this side of the universe!
Suddenly, Xia Fei’s lips curved into a thought-provoking smile. He then told Radix, “You’re a powerful soul. You once resided in the Ark, but now that the Ark is gone and you’re still alive, don’t you want to find a new ho?”
Radix did not get what Xia Fei wanted at first, but when he did, he instantly turned pale. “So you wanna use to make a Soul-devouring Divine Weapon?! Kid, aren’t you a little too cruel?!”
Xia Fei shrugged and said nothing. Since a soul device was used for making a powerful weapon, Xia Fei wanted to use this chance to craft an incredible treasure for himself and to activate the soul device. Naturally, an immortal soul was required.
Xia Fei currently had two souls: Phantom and Radix. Radix was of a much higher level than Phantom, so he was of course the better candidate for making a Soul-devouring Divine Weapon, and as such, Xia Fei had gotten this idea of turning Radix into a weapon.
After all, all Radix could do right now was talk with him. If he beca a divine weapon, besides talking to Xia Fei and helping him with his experience, he could also save him at key monts! It was killing two birds with one stone!
Radix rolled his eyes. “I’m currently in a microchip, which at least affords freedom, allowing to change bodies whenever I want, but if I beco your weapon, won’t that an that I have to follow you for the rest of your life? Stop dreaming! No chance!”
Xia Fei was indifferent as he muttered, “Since the soul device contains information left to you by Hosu, you might as well go in and take a look.”
Radix sternly said, “You know that I’m heavily injured and can’t even move. Besides communicating with you through this Ark microchip, I can’t do anything.”
Xia Fei shrugged and wickedly smiled. “What a pity. That ans you can’t get the information Hosu left you. Even though we have the soul device, we can’t do anything with it.”
Radix was put in an awkward spot. He suddenly realized that his fate was actually in Xia Fei’s hands! If Xia Fei wanted to kill him, he could simply destroy the Ark microchip. Besides that, he could simply stop cultivating, and without the energy pulses that ca from breakthroughs, Radix would dissipate in less than a month.
Xia Fei carefully studied Radix’s expression. “I’m not forcing you to do anything. Everyone has their mission in this universe, and as an immortal soul, you exist to assist others. This is your mission.
“Think it over; activating the soul device doesn’t just benefit but also you, right? The Ark is gone, and only you and Hosu are left of it. I presu that he’s got plenty to say to you. Don’t you wanna know why you beca a soul and who you were before that?”
He spoke with utmost sincerity. Actually, Radix already knew that Xia Fei was not forcing him to do anything. This was just a discussion. It was completely up to him whether to agree or not.
