Wei Wufu watched Lin Shen, his body shrouded in white mist, and although he knew the ascension process wouldn't conclude that quickly, he didn't use the Spirit Bases to enhance his own Life Base. Instead, he observed his surroundings more, ensuring that no disturbances would affect Lin Shen's ascension.
Lin Shen was at his most vulnerable, virtually defenseless; even a Steel Mutator might be able to kill him at this juncture.
