Chapter 131: Strength Growth

Lin Shen was wondering whether or not he should go and clarify things with Bai Shenfei to prevent endless trouble.

The Lin Family was just a small clan like those at Dark Bird Base, not resilient enough to withstand such turmoil, and he couldn’t let his actions drag the Lin Family into difficulty.

He had also heard about Lin Xiangdong driving away the Zheng Family, which greatly surprised him, as he never expected that his fourth brother had already beco an Ascender.

He was also aware that if it weren’t for the splendid downfall orchestrated by Lin Xiangdong, Dark Bird Base would have lost its peace a long ti ago.

The reason for the Lin Family’s current tranquility was because of the deterrence that single blow provided.

But Lin Shen knew Lin Xiangdong’s personality well; if his brother had the capability, he would not just threaten but eradicate the problem at its root.

The fact that Lin Xiangdong didn’t do so indicated that he didn’t have the power to take such action yet or that for so reason, he was not able to do so.

Therefore, Lin Shen believed he didn’t have the right to be arrogant at the mont. His fourth brother might be strong, but there were nurous Ascenders among the major families. It was no longer an era where a single, slightly stronger Ascender could do whatever they pleased.

According to Wei Wufu, Ascenders from Earth were only a small part of the human Ascenders. Most human Ascenders were constantly in battle on alien worlds, and so had even reached higher levels, establishing their own powers on alien planets.

Earth was too impoverished to sustain so many Ascenders; most of them could only hope to find opportunities by leaving for alien worlds.

There was no need to worry about beings above Ascenders for now, because humans wanting to leave Earth for alien worlds could only do so via teleporters.

However, due to the energy limitations of the discovered teleporters, they could at most transmit Ascenders.

Once humans left and beca a higher existence than Ascenders on the outside, it would be difficult for the teleporters to bring them back to Earth.

If one advanced beyond the level of Ascender while on Earth, they would likely be trapped on the planet for life, as there were no current human flight devices capable of sending them to another fertile planet within their lifeti.

Thus, the strongest humans on Earth were Ascenders, and the sa was true for the major families from the super-bases. The problem was that the major families had support outside, and if tens of Ascenders were to return from alien worlds, no one could withstand that pressure.

The Zheng Family from Wanderer Base had powers on alien worlds too, and wiping out the Zheng Family on Earth wasn’t as simple as it sounded.

Lin Shen reviewed the situation and realized that there might have been so misunderstandings between him and Bai Shenfei before, possibly arising from the occasion when he rescued Bai Shenfei.

“Could Bai Shenfei have misunderstood that I did sothing to her?” Lin Shen pondered the possibility.

But how to explain such a matter? Lin Shen felt a bit of a headache thinking about it.

After giving it so thought, Lin Shen decided to visit Yashen Base first, as Ye Yuzhen’s pet was still in the process of hatching there, and he was unsure whether the Mutant Sea Demon God General had hatched yet.

Even if he was to go, he would wait until he had converted all the Base Mutation Fluid into Base Mutation rate.

Having a chanical watch on his person made Lin Shen feel incredibly convenient—every incrental growth of his Base Mutation rate was directly visible, unlike in the past when he had to rely on intuition.

After digesting all the Base Mutation Fluid in the past few days, Lin Shen successfully reached a Base Mutation rate of 76, a considerably high number. If he wasn’t aiming for perfection, he could now proceed to rge into Alloy with almost no risk of failure.

Lin Shen did not have a particularly severe perfectionist mindset, as could be seen from the way he practiced Evolution Skill; he didn’t deliberately pursue completeness, practicing what he could and skipping what he couldn’t.

The only reason I’m so fixated on a 100% Base Mutation rate is because of the brainwashing from my third and fourth brothers.

In the past few days, Lin Shen’s Strength attribute had increased a bit, now at 19 points, it looks like there’s still room for improvent, so the weight of Death Powder could probably still be increased.

I’d had no choice but to sign the Boundless Strength Contract with Death Powder, at the ti, Lin Shen felt like he was at a disadvantage, but now it seems not bad.

The weight of Death Powder increases, but its regular size doesn’t grow, so it just wraps around the body, and wearing a robe over it is like holding it while walking, which is far better than running around with a bull’s head every day.

It’s just uncertain what the growth limit of Death Powder is, and whether its Strength can continue to increase indefinitely.

After digesting all the Base Mutation Fluid, Lin Shen felt it was ti to visit Yashen Base, so he went to find Tu Xiaodao.

Lin Shen was actually quite puzzled in his heart, Tu Xiaodao hadn’t co to hound him to be a sparring partner in these days, instead spending every day at the claw machine shop trying to catch Base Mutation Eggs, and according to Zhao Li, he had indeed spent a lot of money, earning Lin Shen a tidy sum.

Of course, the claw machine that Tu Xiaodao played with was specifically adjusted by Zhao Li, otherwise, even with the skill to manipulate the claw, it’d still be hard to catch anything.

The claws in Lin Shen’s shop were loose to prevent those with high skills, which did not have too much effect on regular players; for most people relying on probability, it was about the sa as buying Base Mutation Eggs with money, just in a different way that felt more exciting and fulfilling.

When Lin Shen arrived at his shop, sure enough, he saw Tu Xiaodao operating the machine to catch eggs.

What surprised Lin Shen was that next to Tu Xiaodao, there was a small trolley with more than a dozen Base Mutation Eggs in it.

“What’s going on?” Lin Shen asked Zhao Li, who was nearby.

He had trained in the claw technique for over half a month before he had fully mastered it. In just a few days, Tu Xiaodao had beco so skilled.

“Lin, your friend is really good. His clawing accuracy is very high, and he’s caught quite a few in a row today. Do you want to readjust the tension of that machine?” Zhao Li whispered.

“Forget it, let’s keep that machine as it is,” Lin Shen thought about it and decided it didn’t really matter.

On Realm King Planet now, he sotis couldn’t even be bothered to pick up ordinary Steel Eggs, so leaving a machine for soone with technique to play with—whoever can grab sothing deserves it.

“Tu, you’re doing quite well,” Lin Shen said as he walked over.

“I should thank you for bringing to play,” Tu Xiaodao gave Lin Shen a aningful smile.

“As long as you enjoy playing, but I need to take a trip to Yashen Base. Do you want to stay here and play, or co with ?” Lin Shen failed to grasp the real aning behind Tu Xiaodao’s smile.

“Of course, I’ll go with you. There must be trouble waiting for you at Yashen Base, and since I promised to protect you, I naturally an to keep that promise,” Tu Xiaodao put down the control stick, started packing up, and prepared to go with Lin Shen.

“Your eggs,” Lin Shen noticed Tu Xiaodao hadn’t taken the Base Mutation Eggs from the trolley and quickly stopped him.

“I’m giving them to you,” Tu Xiaodao said carelessly, as these Base Mutation Eggs were sothing he really didn’t care for, the kind he couldn’t even bother to pick up.

“Exchange them for money for him,” Lin Shen knew that for soone like Tu Xiaodao, it was normal not to care about those Base Mutation Eggs, so he didn’t say anything further, asking Zhao Li to put them back in the machine, before he and Tu Xiaodao headed to Yashen Base together.
