Chapter 1108: Chapter 1108: A Thought Between Good and Evil
As long as Lin Shen doesn’t kill her, there will still be opportunities in the future. For now, survival is paramount, and Yan Li felt significantly calr inside.
“Get up. Aside from the Six Paths Reincarnation Institute, what else is worth seeing in Gui Xian City? Take around to have a look,” Lin Shen withdrew his palm and said lightly.
“Gui Xian City is the culmination of generations of effort from my Yan Family, and it has many peculiar aspects. However, I am quite heavily injured at the mont. I request Lord’s permission to first treat my wounds before guiding you through Gui Xian City…” Yan Li rose and explained.
“Very well.” Lin Shen glanced at Di Esi and Wei Wufu, then turned to Yan Li and said, “The injuries they sustained are due to you, so naturally, you should take care of them.”
“That’s simple. They are rely influenced by the power of the Six Paths of Reincarnation, and the effect is not deep. I’ll remove it for them right now…” Ghost Qi surged from Yan Li’s body as she released an eerie glow, which restored Di Esi and Wei Wufu from the power of the Six Paths of Reincarnation.
Di Esi returned to normal imdiately after shaking off the influence of Reincarnation Power, but Wei Wufu’s condition proved to be far more complicated.
Although the power of the Six Paths was eliminated, Wei Wufu’s physical condition did not improve significantly. He was suffering from backlash caused by the Power of Justice, which had generated evil power inside him, resulting in severe damage to his body. It wasn’t difficult to help his body recover; the challenge lay in resolving the evil power entrenched within.
Lin Shen chose not to leave and instead settled in Gui Xian City, planning to stabilize Wei Wufu’s condition before departing.
Seeing that Lin Shen was in no hurry to leave, Yan Li grew even more certain that Lin Shen was secure in his position, with a powerful ace up his sleeve.
Although she wished for Lin Shen to leave quickly, she dared not reveal this sentint. She simply assigned two Ghost n to heed Lin Shen’s orders while she attended to her injuries.
In the Yan Family, those created through the Six Paths of Reincarnation were referred to as Ghost n, distinct from Divine Beings.
The Ghost n assigned to Lin Shen were ones he was quite familiar with—they were the “Die Fast” and “Die Early” he first encountered at the wedding.
With Yan Li’s command, the two followed Lin Shen obediently, answering his every question without defiance.
At the mont, Lin Shen had no interest in touring Gui Xian City, so he ordered Die Fast and Die Early to stand guard at the door while he and Di Esi stayed indoors to delve into Wei Wufu’s predicant.
Wei Wufu had been severely hard by the backlash of evil power. Even as he exerted all his strength to confront the evil power surging within his body, he couldn’t suppress it, leaving him barely capable of moving.
Di Esi examined Wei Wufu’s body first, then—after a mont of thought—remarked, “The evil power generated by the backlash of the Power of Justice is exceedingly stubborn. In fact, this evil power was self-generated by Wei himself. To extract it entirely from Wei’s body is almost impossible.”
“Is there really no way?” Lin Shen couldn’t think of a solution either and pressed urgently for answers.
“Not necessarily.” Di Esi pondered for a while before adding, “Dispelling evil power is quite challenging. But if one can transform it for their own use, the circumstances would be entirely different.”
“Given Wei’s personality, I’m not sure he could wield evil power effectively,” Lin Shen frowned.
Evil power requires the Law of Sin to be mastered, and soone as straightforward as Wei—unable to tolerate even the smallest speck of compromise—hardly seems suited to control it.
“Not necessarily. While others may fail, Wei definitely has a chance,” Di Esi said confidently. “Wei’s approach to everything is singularly focused, and his determination is unparalleled. Asking him to comprehend a force diatrically opposed to his nature may seem impossible, but it isn’t. Good and evil are two sides of the sa coin. The fact that Wei has been affected by it and can generate evil power within his body shows he possesses the potential to master it. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have been created in the first place…”
“So what should we do now?” Lin Shen, out of options, could only defer to Di Esi.
“We need to do nothing. It’s entirely up to Wei’s comprehension and his fate,” Di Esi said with a smile. “I believe he will succeed.”
It seed as though Wei understood Di Esi’s words, as he nodded toward Lin Shen.
Lin Shen had no other recourse. He tried using his own power to disperse the evil energy within Wei’s body, but the results were far from satisfactory.
The evil power was far too peculiar, akin to weeds that couldn’t be fully uprooted. Not only was it challenging to remove, but it also rebounded and multiplied like wildfire.
“Wei, good and evil are but a thought apart. Power itself holds no inherent morality. Used for good, it becos justice; used for evil, it becos malevolence…” Di Esi shared his own understanding with Wei.
Lin Shen could clearly sense that the chaotic flow of evil energy within Wei’s body was becoming more structured. It appeared Wei was making progress in controlling the evil power, which reassured Lin Shen.
Lin Shen stepped out of the room into the courtyard, where he saw Die Fast and Die Early standing like wooden statues by the door, motionless.
Although they appeared human, their minds clearly weren’t of humanity. Lin Shen wasn’t entirely sure what they truly were.
“Die Fast,” Lin Shen called out. Die Fast imdiately walked over and stood before him, awaiting orders.
“Take on a tour around the city.” Lin Shen didn’t want to arouse Yan Li’s suspicion, so he refrained from leaving imdiately.
Die Fast followed Lin Shen’s command, and together with Die Early, they led Lin Shen on a comprehensive tour of Gui Xian City.
Gui Xian City was larger than Lin Shen had imagined. More notably, the city was teeming with Ghost n and Paper n, far more than Lin Shen had originally anticipated. Furthermore, most Ghost n were of upper ranks.
“This is a force that cannot be underestimated. In the Central Heaven Star Divine Palace, the number of upper-rank Divine Beings is barely over ten thousand. But here, the number of upper-rank Ghost n almost rivals that of the Central Heaven Star Divine Palace’s Divine Beings. If they can truly be made to serve , they would be an enormous asset.” Lin Shen resolved to maintain his guise and find a way to harness Gui Xian City’s power for himself.
Not to ntion, these Ghost n and Paper n alone—if sent out to hunt each day—could earn a substantial fortune.
With such a force, even without the Jade Emperor’s protection, Lin Shen wouldn’t need to fear conflicts with other Star God Palaces.
Although the Central Heaven Star Divine Palace was powerful, it ultimately wasn’t a force Lin Shen could directly control, much less utilize freely.
“Yan Li is now terrified after my strike and will believe whatever I say. However, over ti, she may catch on. I need to devise a way to ensure she remains loyal to indefinitely.”
As Lin Shen mulled over these issues, a significant event occurred on Giant Ring Star in the Ancient Realm.
Tian Xun was about to give birth. She had hoped to wait for Lin Shen’s return so the child could et their father and mother upon being born.
But such matters were beyond her control. Birth doesn’t follow appointnts; when a child chooses to co into the world, there’s no stopping it.
