Chapter 101: None of Them Work
“Dual cultivation? Is it what I’m thinking of?” Lin Shen’s mind instantly conjured up so not-so-child-friendly scenes.
Bai Shenfei looked at Lin Shen coldly, “If you keep thinking such ssy thoughts, I’ll chop it off.”
“It was you who brought it up, how can you bla ?” Lin Shen retorted with a curl of his lip, feeling Bai Shenfei was clearly practicing double standards.
“Dual cultivation refers to the dual sublimation of the mind and the body, not the ssy things you’re thinking of,” Bai Shenfei said.
“Are you sure it’s not the sa thing?” Lin Shen asked with a weird expression.
“It’s not,” Bai Shenfei answered firmly.
“Then what does it an?” Lin Shen felt that Bai Shenfei’s explanation essentially ant the sa thing he was thinking of.
“For example, manual laborers have stronger bodies, while ntal laborers have more expansive thinking, but the two aren’t conflicting. You can achieve both physical and ntal strength,” Bai Shenfei pondered and explained.
Now Lin Shen really understood, he had indeed misunderstood; Bai Shenfei’s dual cultivation wasn’t what he had thought, but rather a dual cultivation of spirit and body, also known as cultivation of both heart and body.
Lin Shen recalled a term he had read before called “dual cultivation of spirit and flesh,” which probably ant the sa thing.
“If I’m not mistaken this ti, you an, as long as one cultivates both mind and body, they can break through to the Ascension Level of ‘Talent Theory,’ right? Then what does this have to do with that Mr. Tian helping you choose people?” Lin Shen asked, puzzled.
“Cultivating both mind and body isn’t difficult, but the challenge is the different body structures between n and won. Won have certain traits that n do not possess, and n have traits that won lack. To perfectly cultivate both mind and body, it’s impossible to do it alone,” Bai Shenfei continued to explain.
“After all that roundabout talk, isn’t it just what I initially thought? Are you ssing with ?” Lin Shen sneered inwardly.
As if seeing through Lin Shen’s thoughts, Bai Shenfei continued, “These traits require two people of opposite genders, both capable of cultivating ‘Talent Theory,’ to exchange the strength they have gained from cultivating ‘Talent Theory,’ in order to truly achieve the perfect state of dual cultivation of mind and body and to forge their Life Base during Ascension.”
“How do you exchange it?” Lin Shen was quite interested in this question.
“Blood exchange,” Bai Shenfei’s reply greatly disappointed Lin Shen; it was completely different from what he had in mind.
“When Base Mutation is activated, a large part of the Base Mutation particles one possesses are transported to various parts of the body through the bloodstream. Exchanging blood at that ti would allow one to acquire the other’s Base Mutation particles and thus perfect one’s own deficiencies.”
“This process needs to be repeated day after day, year after year. It is a long-term process and even after becoming Ascenders, it must continue. A man and a woman need to be together often and exchange their blood. Tell , if my other half isn’t him, what man in the world would not be suspicious?”
“Moreover, those capable of cultivating ‘Talent Theory’ are one in a million. To have two people capable of cultivating ‘Talent Theory’ at the sa ti in one era is already rare, and if they are a man and a woman, if that’s not fate destined by Mr. Tian, then what is?”
“What you said makes sense; it must be fate given by Mr. Tian,” Lin Shen agreed, feeling the conditions were a bit too harsh.
“Unfortunately, I don’t have the talent to cultivate ‘Talent Theory,’ so I can only disappoint you,” Lin Shen thought about Bai Shenfei handing him “Talent Theory,” feeling sowhat smug inside: “Being handso is just such a sorrow; everybody loves what they see. Ah, this damned irresistible charm of mine.”
“There’s nothing to be disappointed about. I’ve given it to many people, and none have succeeded. It’s not surprising that you couldn’t cultivate it,” Bai Shenfei’s words instantly dampened Lin Shen’s spirits.
“Is there really no other thod for perfect dual cultivation apart from this? Can a person truly not break through to the Ascension Level of ‘Talent Theory’ alone?” Lin Shen asked with patience.
“There is another thod, but this one can only be used by n, not won.”
“What thod is so magical?” Lin Shen was very curious.
“Castration. A man can have both traits without having to exchange and still be able to cultivate them,” Bai Shenfei’s words made Lin Shen feel a chill.
“That thod isn’t too good, and besides, you’re not a man.” Lin Shen quickly changed the subject, “Cultivation isn’t sothing to rush, perhaps in a few days soone will master ‘Talent Theory’, and it won’t be too late to dual cultivate then.”
“No need to wait a few days, it has already happened,” Bai Shenfei said calmly.
“Ah! Soone has already mastered ‘Talent Theory’? Is it a man or a woman?” Lin Shen was slightly taken aback.
“A man, Ouyang Yudu from God’s Love Base of the Ouyang Family.”
Upon hearing the four words “Ouyang Yudu,” Lin Shen was surprised; he had indeed heard this na before.
In this era, places like Dark Bird Base could mostly rely on radio to get information from the outside world.
Lin Shen often listened to the radio, especially enjoying a program called “Fast-Talking Storytelling,” where Mr. Fast-Talk’s witty and humorous language and stories were greatly appreciated by Lin Shen.
The stories Mr. Fast-Talk told were about various occurrences at different bases, and whether they were entirely true or not, Lin Shen wasn’t sure, but they were quite engaging to listen to.
Many of these stories were related to Ouyang Yu.
What a born prodigy, with photographic mory, able to practice cultivation at three, skilled in martial arts by seven, and at eighteen looked like a reincarnation of Pan An, also mastering eighteen different types of weaponry, capable of hunting tigers in the mountains and catching turtles in the sea.
In Mr. Fast-Talk’s words, Ouyang Yudu was a perfect person.
Fortunate by birth, from God’s Love Base’s Ouyang Family, there were few families in the world as affluent as this one.
Handso too, every ti Mr. Fast-Talk ntioned Ouyang Yudu’s story, there was always the classic scenario of both beautiful and plain won falling for him at first sight.
Academically brilliant, whether it was literature or combat skills, he mastered them instantly, with the ability to apply knowledge in new ways.
And his character was even better, everyone in God’s Love Base who t Ouyang Yudu had nothing but praise for him; no one had ever spoken a word against him.
Basically, he was impeccable, the only good man in the world, and whoever ended up with him would be lucky.
Now that Lin Shen heard he had mastered “Talent Theory,” it didn’t seem too surprising, which ant Mr. Fast-Talk’s stories weren’t all made-up; Ouyang Yudu’s talent indeed was exceptional, even mastering “Talent Theory” that very few people could achieve.
Lin Shen now faced a troubling dilemma, if Bai Shenfei and Ouyang Yu really beca a thing, how could he convince Bai Shenfei to spend a clean and pure night with him before marrying Ouyang Yu?
If it were after the marriage, Lin Shen didn’t even want to think about it—the Ouyang Family of God’s Love Base was not sothing he could afford to provoke. His own high moral standards also wouldn’t allow him to do so.
“Judging by your expression, you must know him,” Bai Shenfei said with a smile, “I heard he’s very good, but I have not t him. However, apart from him, it seems I have no other option. It’s just unfortunate that other n are just not competitive, just not up to par.”
Why did Lin Shen feel like Bai Shenfei’s words were sohow accusing him? Yet, he couldn’t find any evidence.
