Chapter 35 Seafood Stall
Other than the electric eel, no other creatures could withstand a discharge of over two thousand volts. The schools of fishes swam madly away from the electric eel and the giant squid, dazzled passersby. The giant squid was not so lucky. It started out full of vigor, but it suddenly let go of all its ten tentacles as if it had been sucked of all its energy, and struggled to escape this place.
Running away? Chen Fan was not going to let that happen. Not only did he not let go of his grasping claws, but he used all of his strength to close up the mouth which was biting the soft flesh. The giant squid struggled desperately while deep red blood flowed from its body, contaminating the water.
Chen Fan was unable to sustain the high energy attack for long, but luckily the giant squid could not hold out for an even shorter ti. Thirty seconds later, the giant squid finally stopped moving, and his eyeballs, the size of basins, turned ash gray. After waiting for one minute, Chen Fan heaved a long sigh seeing that it did not move anymore, and slowly let go of the eel’s mouth and four claws.
After relieving himself from the high tension, the eel felt pain all over. Looking at the red circular scars left by the suction cups on the giant squid’s tentacles, Chen Fan felt a lingering fear. If the electric current had not significantly numbed the giant squid, the eel would have gotten countless circular scars from the battle! After quietly resting for a while, Chen Fan controlled the eel avatar to move the squid’s tentacles aside with his claws and found the beak hidden in the middle. He bit the beak off and held it in his mouth.
"Two million RMB!" Chen Fan was overco with emotion. Thereafter, he controlled the electric eel to make a turn and swim toward Zhongyun City. The journey both ways, there and back to find the giant squid, took almost five hours. It was already after seven in the evening when he reached the previous hiding place on the shoal.
After Chen Fan shifted his consciousness back, he walked out of the bedroom and said to Wang Bing, who was watching television on the couch, "Co, let’s go for a seafood feast today, my treat!"
"Seafood feast?" Wang Bing imdiately jumped up like a rabbit when he heard food. "Is this for real? You’re so kind!"
"Of course, it’s fake!" Chen Fan did not bother with him and walked outside by himself.
"Wait for ..." Wang Bing quickly switched off the television and ran out.
It was a well-known fact that the people of Zhongyun loved seafood, and there were nurous high class seafood restaurants inside the city area. On the way, Wang Bing was babbling on about the food that he wanted to eat, but... He was dumbstruck when they reached the destination. "Boss, didn’t you say that you’re treating to a seafood feast? Why did you bring here?"
"Isn’t this a seafood feast?" Chen Fan pointed at the "BBQ Seafood Stall" signage at the entrance. "This stall has been doing barbecue seafood for more than ten years, especially the grilled cuttlefish and hotplate clams. The food here is...whoa, simply excellent!" Although this barbecue stall was not big, business was very good. The two waited for over ten minutes before getting a seat.
"What would you like to order?" Chen Fan had just sat down when a pretty young lady with a ponytail ca over with a nu.
"Mm!" Chen Fan did not look at the nu. "Gim twenty razor clam skewers, four portions of grilled cuttlefish, ten portions of hotplate clams, ten crab skewers, and four bottles of beer!"
"Coming right away!" The young lady quickly scribbled the things Chen Fan ordered on a piece of paper and then gave a smile.
"Boss, that young lady is hot!" Wang Bing imdiately turned and stared at her back after she had left.
"Yeah, she’s the boss’s daughter. She cos here to help out during the peak hours every day!" Chen Fan also stared at her back.
"Heh heh! No wonder you wanna co to this barbecue stall of all places!" Wang Bing gave a faint smile. "You must have taken a fancy to this little Lolita!"
"The army must have made you dumb. Do you know what eye candy is?"
Wang Bing gave an evil laugh and shrugged, "I only know it’s easy to conquer a Lolita!"
After a while, the items Chen Fan ordered arrived one after another and were placed inside the small grill box on the table.
"Wow, the food here is really delicious!" After all the items were served, Wang Bing imdiately grabbed a clam skewer and stuffed it into his mouth.
"Would I bring you here if it’s wasn’t delicious?" Chen Fan rolled his eyes at him before picking up a clam skewer.
Young people generally liked eating barbecue and drinking beer. Chen Fan and Wang Bing did not care to talk much and kept stuffing themselves with the grilled seafood in front of them. With a big eater like Wang Bing around, the food and beer on the table were wiped clean within half an hour.
"Boss, please give another round of the items we just ordered!" Chen Fan shouted to the owner who was grilling sothing at the entrance.
"Coming, right away!" The owner turned his head to reply before quickly going back to the stuff on the grill.
"Oh, boss, do you think the young lady has a boyfriend?" Getting bored from waiting, Wang Bing started talking nonsense again. "I heard from the new recruits in the army that young ladies are getting wilder these days. So have already had a few boyfriends by the age of thirteen or fourteen years old!"
"I don’t think so!" Chen Fan thought about it as he bit on a toothpick. Since he had co in, he had been observing her using the thod he had learned from Yiteng Yun previously, and the result he got in the end was more toward the negative.
"Who cares about that? Filling my stomach is more important!" Wang Bing suddenly had a greedy look when he saw the young lady coming over with a plate of grilled razor clams. At that mont, the curtains on the door were lifted up and four youngsters with colorful afros and tal accessories all over entered single file. All four of them had their noses in the air, as if telling everyone that they were ruffians and were not afraid of anyone.
"Damn, that bastard at the internet cafe wanted to play tough with right from the beginning. We had to beat him up so he could learn his lesson " The leader started cursing even before he sat down, looking very arrogant and displeased.
"Exactly, Sanya, you should’ve given him a few more stabs, that kind of person needs to be taught a good lesson!" The blond youngster standing diagonally opposite him chid in after sitting down.
"Bah! This Gerber jackknife cost more than 700 RMB. Stabbing him will depreciate its value!" The young man said as he took out a black folding knife from his waist and slamd it on the table.
The four had probably just had a fight and their adrenaline was still pumping. They were full of themselves. There were all types of people in this world, but these guys thought that they really impressed the girls with this type of behavior.
