Chapter 1007: eting Phil Again, and That Man Is Here
Luke was waiting for his first “acquaintance.”
It wasn’t the God of Thunder, Thor, but Phil Coulson, who was dressed in the standard black suit.
Luke’s heart skipped a beat when he saw him.
This was the true leader of the extras.
Whenever he appeared in an important situation, his subordinate extras would die, sotis all at once, and no one even rembered their faces.
Looking at the image the drone had sent of Phil making a call as he stood in front of the pit, Luke called Robert and told him to co back.
Robert returned in less than ten minutes. He had been in town the whole ti and hadn’t gone far.
“What is it?” he asked.
Luke pointed at the middle-aged man with a receding hairline on the screen. “Phil Coulson. I heard he’s from the FBI’s 17th Division.”
He instantly noticed that when Robert saw Coulson on the screen, a surprised expression flashed across his face, but he quickly hid it.
“Soone else you know?” Luke asked casually.
Robert hesitated before he nodded. “Sort of.”
Thanks to his ntal Strength and multiple skills, Luke was quite good at reading people. He imdiately knew that Robert didn’t want to talk about it.
But Robert definitely didn’t have a grudge against Phil; it was more like he was conflicted.
For soone as straightforward as Robert, this was very rare.
Luke had no intention of probing the relationship between the two. He simply said, “I’ll go say hi to him, then.”
Robert was stunned. “You... know him?”
Luke finally realized that sothing wasn’t right. Why couldn’t he know Coulson?
Flegg had been Robert’s “student,” and Robert hadn’t acted strangely about it.
Recalling his speculation about Phil a long ti ago, Luke nodded calmly. “I do. I had a few special cases which I passed on to him and his colleagues in the end, so I inford him about this situation this ti.”
As soon as he said that, he realized that Robert felt even more conflicted. He couldn’t even hide it anymore.
He simply smiled and left.
Since Robert didn’t want him to know, Luke wasn’t interested in forcing Robert to tell him.
Just like how he had his own secrets, Robert definitely had his own guesses, but he only reminded Luke to be careful and not get too carried away.
As an adult, he naturally had a tacit understanding with Robert.
There was no need to expose family secrets, as it might embarrass everyone.
For example, when Robert was in high school, he had a thing with Mary, a police officer back then, and almost fell in love with her.
Luke hadn’t ntioned it at all.
That was because bringing up sothing like this would only affect the harmonious atmosphere in the family.
Looking at Luke’s back as he left, Robert finally couldn’t help but scratch his head. “What the hell... What should I do?”
Even though he had a lot of work to do, he still took out his phone and called Catherine. “That man is here. He’s probably here about the hamr, but Luke already knows him. They seem to be quite close...”
Luke had already set off for the hill.
Twenty minutes later, he got out of the car and nodded at the middle-aged man. “It’s been a while, Phil.”
Phil was still in his black suit and tie. He looked like an insurance salesman.
He was only slightly surprised to see Luke. He walked over with a smile and stretched out his hand. “Long ti no see, Luke.”
Gripping his hand, Luke could sense a lot more things from the strength in Phil’s hand and his movents.
To put it simply, there was a big difference in how you shook hands when you were being polite or close to the other person.
Phil’s handshake... Hehe! Luke smiled bitterly.
“I ca back for Christmas, but I ran into this thing,” Luke said casually. “The mont I saw it, I thought I should let you know.”
Phil didn’t say that S.H.I.E.L.D. had actually discovered this situation yesterday, and he had rushed down overnight.
He simply smiled. “Thank you for letting know.”
Luke patted his shoulder and let go of his hand at the sa ti. “In any case, I’ve worked with you several tis. I trust you.”
Phil looked at him for a mont before he nodded slightly. He didn’t say anything else, but turned to look at the hamr. “What did you find?”
Luke said, “It’s constantly emitting electromagnetic radiation. It’s harmless, but I don’t think it’s an ordinary item.”
Phil humd in acknowledgnt. “What do you an?”
Luke said, “Because I tried pulling it out as well. I even tried shaking it, but it didn’t even budge a milliter. This thing should be similar to that invulnerable monster from last ti; there’s sothing extraordinary about it.”
Phil nodded as well.
Given the hamr’s position, it was impossible for it to not even be shaken.
Also, if it was unimaginably heavy and couldn’t be moved, it would have crushed the earth below it first.
To put it simply, so of the phenona caused by the hamr were contrary to the physics of Earth.
In Phil’s experience, he naturally knew that there was only one truth!
Luke knew what this “truth” was as well.
Luke continued, “I found so information on this thing, so I think it’s better to keep my family away from it.”
Phil was stunned again. “Information?”
S.H.I.E.L.D. didn’t have any leads, but Luke claid that he already had information?
Luke took out the Titanium phone and swiped a couple of tis before he found a photo of the hamr. “See this symbol? It suddenly appeared for an instant, then disappeared. It’s very strange.”
Phil looked at it. “Is it a religious symbol?”
Luke shook his head.
He swiped on his phone a few more tis, and switched to another image.
Phil: ...Are you kidding ?
Because what Luke was showing him was basically similar to a chapter in a book of fairytales, with a story and a picture that was labeled: Thor, God of Thunder.
The sa symbol – three intersecting ovals – was on the armor of the God of Thunder.
Phil couldn’t help but look at Luke. “Are you sure?”
Luke’s expression was the sa as ever as he put his phone away. “I’m not sure. I was just looking for clues based on the pattern, but I can’t guarantee that the clues are reliable. After all, this is the first ti I’ve seen a hamr like this.”
Phil was lost for words.
In a situation with no leads, this was indeed the only thing they could do. It really couldn’t be said that Luke was being ridiculous.
So major discoveries in intelligence work were made in this sort of ridiculous way — even if they were 99.99% reliable, they were indeed outrageous.
