In fact, things went exactly as Wu Hao had planned. After driving the supercar through the bustling and complex streets for a few minutes, he exited the car in an instant as it entered an underground garage, swiftly making his way inside the building.
However, the supercar didn’t stop. Controlled by Wu Hao’s telekinesis, it rely passed through the garage tunnel and continued onto another street.
The car then entered several underground garages of nearby buildings, weaving through them. It wasn’t until the vehicle moved beyond Wu Hao’s telekinetic range that it finally lost control and ca to a stop in one of the garages.
Wu Hao’s unpredictable driving route completely disrupted Will and d’s carefully laid-out trap. From the mont they realized Wu Hao wasn’t heading for the main roads but instead navigating the narrower, more crowded streets, they sent people to chase him. However, with their driving skills, catching up to Wu Hao was clearly impossible.
After all, Wu Hao not only controlled the car telekinetically, driving it at the fastest and safest speed, but also used his ntal awareness to grasp the traffic conditions within a kiloter radius. With this much of an advantage, it would have been a miracle if anyone had managed to catch him!
“Boss, we’ve lost sight of the target.” The group tasked with tracking Wu Hao reported to Will and d as soon as they noticed the car had gone silent after entering the last garage.
During their plan to corner Wu Hao, the two had reached a consensus, pooling their resources with the sole objective of reclaiming the teorite in Wu Hao’s possession.
Little did they know, Wu Hao had been aware of their entire plan from the start. He had never intended to escape Las Vegas using just a car. Instead, he had led them on a chase through the streets, eventually slipping into a building and continuing to control the car as it passed through various underground garages. Once the vehicle was out of his telekinetic range, it stopped in a garage.
So, even though those chasing him found the car, they had no hope of finding Wu Hao. By that ti, Wu Hao had already reached the rooftop of the building. It was nightti, and under the cover of darkness and his position on the rooftop, he easily took off into the sky, making it impossible for anyone to spot him by chance.
Besides, Wu Hao’s telekinetically enhanced flying speed was incredibly fast. Even if soone had seen him, all they would have caught was a blurry shadow.
“Boss, we’ve found the vehicle, but there’s no sign of him.” A few minutes later, the group tracking Wu Hao finally found the Ferrari he had been driving, parked in a spot within the garage.
Back in the hotel room, Will and d were not in good spirits after hearing the team’s report. They realized it would be difficult to locate Wu Hao again, as he had likely already t up with his accomplices. Any hope of tracking him down soon seed slim.
“Alert everyone. Set up strict checkpoints at the airport and all roads leading out of Las Vegas. Even though he’s t with soone, he’s still likely sowhere in the city,” Will quickly ordered.
anwhile, d didn’t stay idle either. He instructed his n to investigate the surveillance footage from all the places Wu Hao had driven through, planning to track him down from every angle.
Their efforts did yield results. About half an hour later, they managed to locate footage of Wu Hao exiting his car and entering the building, taking an elevator to the top floor before disappearing.
However, by that ti, Wu Hao had already left Las Vegas. He was in the nearest city, boarding a private jet pre-arranged by his AI assistant to leave the U.S. and reunite with his family in South Arica.
On the plane, Wu Hao monitored Will and d’s conversations in real ti using his AI. Seeing that they hadn’t gathered any valuable information about his whereabouts, he lost interest in following their actions.
anwhile, in the hotel room, both Will and d were still in a sour mood, analyzing the possible ways Wu Hao had evaded their capture.
“From the surveillance footage and the intel we’ve gathered, it seems this guy calling himself Jas Lee had planned for the auction well in advance. In fact, even his appearance likely wasn’t his real face. The force backing him is definitely not small.”
“That’s for sure,” d agreed with Will’s analysis, adding, “Could the people behind him be from the East?”
“That’s highly possible! But regardless of which group he’s working with, it’s clear he’s still in Las Vegas. Our focus now should be on tracking him down.”
“Exactly. I’ve already ordered the installation of detectors at the airport and on all roads out of the city to scan for the teorite. Based on what we know, this teorite emits a strong energy signature that can’t be completely blocked by anything.”
Wu Hao was well aware of the energy radiation emitted by the black teorite. However, although the radiation couldn’t be blocked, its range was only about 500 ters. This ant the detector could only pick up the signal if it was within that distance.
But Will and d’s efforts were bound to fail. Wu Hao was no longer in Las Vegas, and even if they searched every corner of the city, they wouldn’t find a trace of him.
On the plane, Wu Hao sat alone in the cabin, examining the black teorite. However, no matter how much he tried to probe its structure with his ntal senses, he couldn’t gain any insights. After a while, he gave up and, using his earpiece, asked the AI, “Zero, when will the aircraft be ready?”
The aircraft Wu Hao was referring to wasn’t the anti-gravity vehicle his AI had been developing recently, nor was it the type that relied on Wu Hao’s telekinesis for flight. It was a supersonic drone-like aircraft, designed to transport both the teorite and the ancient jade compass he had acquired at the auction back to his base.
