Outside Fenglin Town, Gale Valley.
"Leader, is it really okay for just our team to co here?" A sowhat nervous middle-tier Bone Forging Realm man from the Half-Scale Race asked the leader, Yino, beside him.
As a mber of the City Defense Corps and a graduate of the Genius Training Camp, he was already accustod to the trials of life and death.
But now, facing two wilderness rcenary groups and a defense corps from Star Tower City, with only their one defense corps, it was practically courting death.
Even if Leader Yino was now a half-step top-level Bone Forging Realm expert, it was still a dead end. After all, they faced at least three conservatively estimated high-tier martial artists at the extre Bone Forging Realm level. Yino, even with Second Realm Perfection in Super Tier Martial Technique, might not have a problem overpowering one, and could perhaps hold off two in a fight.
But with three high-tier martial artists of the extre Bone Forging Realm coming at once, they would be at a disadvantage and could easily et their demise, not to ntion their side was outnumbered two to one.
"If we don’t co over, do you expect the people from Black Obsidian Martial Arts Hall to protect the transporting convoy?" Yino gave a sidelong glance at the Half-Scale Race man.
The Half-Scale Race man fell silent after hearing this.
If it were the Hall Master of the Black Obsidian Martial Arts Hall, Lin Qi, coming personally, then protecting the transporting convoy wouldn’t be difficult. After all, he was the Deputy City Lord and a master of Extraordinary Martial Techniques. Not to ntion, back at the Martial Artist Association, he killed a monster from the Holy Blood rcenary Corps in one move.
He was present at the ti and knew how formidable that monster from the Holy Blood rcenary Corps was, yet in front of Lin Qi, it was as fragile as a baby, let alone three high-tier martial artists of the extre Bone Forging Realm.
However, now Lin Qi only sent Martial Arts Academy Disciples, none of whom were even Bone Forging Realm martial artists. Trying to protect the transporting convoy was basically a dream.
Leader Yino said he was borrowing people, but in fact, he wanted Lin Qi to take action. Unfortunately, Lin Qi had no intention of doing so and really only let the Martial Arts Academy Disciples step in, which was so frustrating it made one want to cry.
"Stop talking, they’re here. Everyone, get ready for battle!"
Looking at the life detector in his hand, Yino frowned as red dots appeared within the three-kiloter range. Each red dot on the detector represented a Bone Forging Realm expert, and the number of red dots far exceeded her expectations, surpassing as many as forty Bone Forging Realm experts.
For a mont, the 1,500 martial artists of the Seventeenth Regint, ranging from high-tier Bone Forging Realm down to middle-tier martial artists, couldn’t help but swallow.
Their Seventeenth Regint, at most, had only twenty Bone Forging Realm mbers in total; ten at the initial tier, eight at the middle tier, one high-tier, and one extre high-tier, who was Leader Yino.
Facing over forty Bone Forging Realm experts, even if half of them were initial-tier, they were at an overwhelming disadvantage.
anwhile, on the other side, the team from Star Tower City also discovered Yino’s team through the life detector.
"Brother Blood Rider, it seems there’s not many people from Chasing Light City, only twenty Bone Forging Realm," laughed a nearly four-ter-tall Sub-demon Race strongman carrying two war axes, looking at the life detector in his hand. "You’ve really lost out hiring and Iron Claw to ambush Chasing Light City’s defense corps this ti."
"There’s only one defense corps, looks like Fenglin Town is even emptier than I imagined." The five-ter-tall Mountain Race man was also slightly surprised after checking the life detector.
According to his plan, he deliberately exposed his whereabouts to let people in Chasing Light City know they were going to attack the transporting convoy, but his real objective wasn’t the transporting convoy; it was the defense corps of Chasing Light City.
This city battle caused both cities to bleed heavily. Randomly killing an initial-tier Bone Forging Realm could earn a considerable amount of Type Three Potions, and killing a high-tier martial artist of the extre Bone Forging Realm ant the City Lord was offering an Extraordinary Martial Technique and willing to personally instruct for three days.
Being from the Mountain Race, which was the City Lord’s lineage, he had learned the Mountain Race’s Extraordinary Martial Techniques, but he had never been able to grasp them.
If a Blood Coagulation Realm expert like the City Lord could instruct him for a few days, the chances of mastering Extraordinary Martial Techniques would be greatly increased.
Once he mastered Extraordinary Martial Techniques, he would jump up to beco the Deputy City Lord. His status couldn’t be compared to a re defense corps leader.
He spared no expense; besides the hiring fee provided by the City Lord, he also emptied his own resources to hire two well-known rcenary groups from the Mist Mountain Region: the Stone Axe rcenary Corps and the Iron Claw rcenary Corps.
Although these two rcenary groups were far inferior to the Holy Blood rcenary Corps, their leaders, Stone Axe and Iron Claw, were both top-level Bone Forging Realm experts.
Ambushing the two leaders from Chasing Light City would be a piece of cake.
However, he didn’t expect Chasing Light City to send only one defense corps to support the transporting convoy, which derailed half of his plan.
"Brother Blood Rider, should we still proceed?" asked a three-winged male from the Feather Race beside him. "Stone Axe and I both agreed to act once, but if we take action this ti, we’ll need additional paynt next ti."
As a rcenary group, they operated for money, each action requiring paynt.
Initially, they were reluctant to get involved in the war between the two cities. After all, if the side hiring them won, it was fine, but if they lost, they would suffer consequences too.
They weren’t like the Holy Blood rcenary Corps, where even the Red Moon Comrce opted out of seeking revenge. If they had to face retaliation from an entire city, even without the City Lord taking action, the Deputy City Lords alone would be more than they could handle.
