Later that very day, Lyra and Carlotta had returned to their rooms to freshen up and change back into their dresses, or so they said.

anwhile, still in the master bedroom with Kai, Sanovere stood upright with his head slightly bowed, his deanor shifting back to pure business.

Kai, seated on the edge of the bed, spoke with a calm voice.

"Tell . It has been four days since I gave you that order. Did you find what I asked for?"

A small, confident smile played on Sanovere’s lips.

"I assu my Lord is talking about the task regarding the hidden mastermind behind the human raids. Yes, my Lord. And to my knowledge, it would seem your prediction was as accurate as always."

Kai remained steady, though a sigh of disappointnt left his mouth.

During the ti he had killed Grok and absorbed the mories of the dead adventurer, he saw the figure of the man who had ordered the hit on Aron’s party.

While he didn’t necessarily know why that person would give such an order at the ti, he was sure that person was not from the rchant Guild.

Not once in the mories did Grok refer to the person as "Guild Leader." Instead, titles like "Your Grace" or "My Lord" were used, which led Kai to believe it had to be soone with a higher authority than a simple rchant.

And who else could that be but the Duke, who had mysteriously appeared in Rambosa for no apparent reason over the last few weeks?

It was also during this very arrival that the human army was scattered across the Jaun land.

’I was certain, which was exactly why I told Sanovere to do so digging. Turns out, what I saw was indeed the truth. The Duke had ordered the death of Aron and his partners because he doesn’t want those products out in the market.’

Kai turned his gaze back to Sanovere.

"Were you able to get any info on why the Duke wanted to kill my party? Surely it had to be a viable reason. And do not bother with the na, as i already know it."

Sanovere paused for a mont.

"In truth, my Lord, while I did gather so information on that front, I am afraid it is a bit hard to explain, since I myself struggle to understand the terminology used."

"Hmm... if you struggle with it, then it has to be important. It’s fine; explain it to in the best way you can, and I’ll be sure to handle the rest."

"As you wish, my Lord."

Sanovere continued.

"According to what I was able to gather, it would seem the Duke dislikes the idea of the ’Eye for Eye’ artifacts spreading among the common people. Apparently, if people were able to hide their stats, it would be hard to distinguish the people of the Real World from the Fakes. He wants to maintain the social balance."

"Is that so..." Kai muttered, his eyes narrowing. "So he would rather eliminate than speak to about it. Then again, being soone in power, I can understand why he would view a wandering rchant as not worth his ti. How disappointing."

"My Lord, may I ask a question on that note before I move to the next part?"

"If you are curious about the Old and New World uttered by the Duke, then patience is all I request of you. I cannot explain to you what it ans right now. For your own sake."

’The Duke is definitely a Player like I guessed. The ’Real World’ is the place we all ca from. Explaining that to Sanovere will shift his worldview too drastically. It can wait.’

Sanovere bowed his head at Kai’s response.

"You saw right through , my Lord. Alright, I will not poke any further." He continued, "For the following part, just as you predicted yet again, the lady you spared, Sandra, has returned to the city and reported to the Duke about what happened here. The Duke is, of course, enraged, but there has been no sign of him taking any imdiate military action."

Kai chuckled.

"We slaughtered most of his elite n. It would be quite the surprise if he weren’t enraged. That is good. I have a feeling it will only get better, so I’ll wait before I visit him with my Aron disguise."

"Do you have a plan in mind, my Lord?"

"More or less, but it is not sothing you need to be worried about right now. Thank you for your service, Sanovere; you have proven yourself once again."

Sanovere replied with a deep bow.

"Your praise truly is a reward of no bounds."

"You may leave. And make sure the security is tight around Leo and Sophia. I would hate for them to be casualties in this. They are quite important to my plan."

"Of course, my Lord. I will see to that."

With that, Sanovere turned and exited the room.

Just as he closed the door and stepped into the hallway, he paused. He looked to the side to see Carlotta standing there, along with Lyra.

Their backs were pressed against the wall, clearly waiting.

He scanned them from head to toe, seeing that they were still dressed in the sexy nighties they had on earlier. They hadn’t changed at all.

Imdiately, a smirk showed at the side of his lips, understanding exactly what they were up to.

"I didn’t take you two for the kind to be this persistent. But then again, this is Lord Kai we are talking about. If I were a female, I would likely do the sa without a second thought."

He placed one hand on his hip, looking them directly in the eye even though they were avoiding all contact while sporting flushed cheeks.

"The Dungeon needs an heir anyway, so do not mind . I will not stand in your way."

Sanovere laughed softly as he walked away, waving his hand as though dismissing a pair of mischievous children.

"Jerk," Carlotta puffed her cheeks in annoyance.

"A-are we really doing this? What if Lord Kai gets upset?" Lyra spoke with a shy voice, constantly pulling the hem of her short dress down.

"Don’t be such a wuss. Lord Kai promised a night like this. Even if it is morning, it doesn’t change a thing. Tsk, believe it or not, we are actually quite attractive. Why else did you think I brought you along?"

"Because you didn’t want to face punishnt alone?" Lyra responded with a deadpan look on her face.

"D-don’t worry about the small stuff! Think about the good parts. If this goes well, this might be the best day of our lives."

It hadn’t even started, and Carlotta had already begun to drool slightly where she stood.

Lyra sighed, straightening her dress one last ti, an expression of sheer embarrassnt warring with excitent on her face.

Carlotta, however, had already pushed her anxieties aside. She strode confidently to the door, though the slight tremble in her hands betrayed her practiced composure.

"Ready, Lyra?" Carlotta whispered, her eyes shining with anticipation.

Lyra took a shaky breath, nodding silently.

Carlotta gently pushed the door open, slipping inside first.

Her eyes imdiately found Kai, who was now leaning back against the headboard of the bed, one arm propped behind his head.

He glanced up, a faint, almost imperceptible smirk touching his lips as he registered their presence and their attire—or lack thereof.

"I thought Sanovere was gone," Kai stated, his voice a low, smooth rumble that sent a shiver down Lyra’s spine.

"He... he was, my Lord," Carlotta managed, stepping further into the room, pulling the door shut behind Lyra. "We, uh, we just wanted to check on you. Make sure everything was alright after... after the reports."

Lyra remained near the door, her gaze fixed on the floor, intensely aware of the flimsy material of her nightdress and the intense aura Kai exuded.

Kai simply watched them, his expression unreadable, yet his gaze felt like a physical weight, pressing them deeper into the room.

"Everything is quite alright," he replied slowly, his eyes sweeping over them both. "Though I wasn’t expecting you two to return so early."

Carlotta found her courage and took another step forward, her voice a little steadier now.

"Well, my Lord, we figured... you might need to unwind after such a stressful few days. We are at your disposal."
