’I figured as much. I may not know much when it cos to business, but I do know when I have brought sothing worth selling.’

Kai kept a steady gaze on the marble.

’In my forr world, if people had the option to see a person’s net worth written at the top of their heads, their na, or any valuable information, I have no doubt in my mind people would jump at it without so much as a hesitation. On that very note, if there was also a counter to that, people wouldn’t think twice before buying an item that would hide that very information.’

A grin tugged at the side of his lips under the mask, knowing he might have just struck gold in that mont.

Then he spoke.

"Do I have your word that this product would do well in the public eye?"

Leo looked at him, a worried look on his face.

"Yes, Lord Shadow. Too well. Which can be a good thing, but only if the rchants in the city don’t make a big deal out of it."

"What are you talking about?" Carlotta had a judgntal look on her face. "Are you implying that so rchants would get in the way of my Lord’s plan? They should be grateful he isn’t robbing them for all they’ve got."

’Calm down for a sec, geez.’ Kai whispered in his mind. ’rchants. Yes, these people are basically the backbone of any society. I didn’t think of that.’

"Leo, explain yourself. Are you implying these rchants would be so kind of threat later on?"

"S-sothing like that. How do I put this... rchants don’t like seeing others outsell them. And this product for sure will do just that. But the main thing here is, unless you are part of their organization, they might demand that you stop all trade."

"I see. So they would wish that I join their little group and in turn, give profit for every trade I make, is that so?"

"Yes, more or less like that. A percentage usually goes to the Head rchant."

Kai sighed.

"Humans do have their way with things, but I suppose I can’t bla them for it. I might have done the sa if I were in their shoes. An outsider is what I am, so I can respect that."

He reached into his inventory and pulled out multiple sacks from there. Each one was filled with the Eye for Eye artifacts. About one hundred were placed on the ground before them.

Sofia and Leo were instantly overwheld as they were not expecting him to pull that much out of thin air.

"Here. These are the first batch of trade I would like to commit to. In this case, you two would act as the face of this company. I am rely a bodyguard."

Carlotta frowned.

"My Lord, I understand you need to remain hidden, but why play such a deaning role? I thought you had this disguise for this very reason."

"Deaning? I guess you do have a point, Carlotta. But I ask you this: how often do you know rchants have to be around to guard their products? How many custors must be attended to? The face of the company must always be present. I do not wish to take on a role that would hinder from my tasks in the Naless Dungeon."

"Ah... You’re right, my Lord. That was careless and ignorant of ." Carlotta bowed her head.

And in response, Kai raised one of his hands.

"It is fine, Carlotta. Your care is much appreciated."

Just hearing that imdiately put a smile on her face.

Leo’s voice echoed right after.

"You want to be the face of this product?"

"That is correct. You seem to have nothing going for you at the mont, so this is a huge way to finally make aning of your lives. After all, you would be working under , the Shadow of Victims. No honor cos close."

His words settled in their ears for a good minute.

’Oh god, that was so cocky of . Please say yes. If they say no, I’ll have no choice but to put soone from the Naless Dungeon instead, and that would also be a risk since they pretty much hate anything from the outside world.’

"I’ll do it," Sofia responded. "If you weren’t so rciful, then I would have been dead a long ti ago. If I can help you in any way, then I am willing to do so to the best of my ability."

"I agree with her. Besides, I know a lot about trading, so I am certain I can be of help to you for sure," Leo followed, a small smile on his face.

’Nice. I have nothing to worry about. Although...’

"How much do you think this can be sold for?" he asked.

Carlotta remained silent at the side. She barely knew a thing about the world’s currency; as such, her knowledge about anything financial was useless if anything.

Leo stared at the marble in deep thought.

"If we are looking to make it valuable and famous for those in power, then I’d say about 500 Cens or more if we can. But if we want to make it the least bit affordable to all, then I’d say 100 Cens. The latter seems like the best way to make more profit through volu."

’100 Cens. So about 100 dollars if I were to equate it to my old world. I wonder if people would have bought it for this price if that were the case?’

"Very well. We will sell it for 100 Cens. I wish for even the poor to grasp my knowledge within their fingers."

"Oh, we should also head to the rchant Guild and register the new product there. That way, when we join, the only thing we would need to worry about are rival rchants and not the Guild itself."

"Very well. Lead the way."

Leo and Sofia smiled.

It was strange, but they were certain their lives truly held the aning they thought they lost, just with the presence of the Shadow of Victims himself.

...

Monts later.

Kai and the group were seated in the hallway of the rchant Guild, right on top of a long bench where multiple other rchants were seated as well.

At the front, several counters were there, with receptionists replying to every single one of them.

Those who wanted to register as rchants in Rambosa, those who wanted to pay their rchant Guild taxes, were all present there.

It felt no different from the city’s Adventure Guild, only it was less rowdy and more organized.

"These filthy humans. How dare they make you wait on their filthy chairs." Carlotta basically gritted her teeth in anger. "My Lord, how are you not bothered by this?"

"Because we dropped in without an appointnt. Needless to say, I do agree that their service has been rather slow. It is best to not overreact at tis like this."

"My Lord~" Carlotta’s eyes were sparkling with adoration. "You are so kind. Hehe, I find that attractive. While we wait, do i have permission to-"

Kai flinched on the side, watching as she was wiggling in her seat while moving her face close toward him, as if trying to sniff his neck in public.

However, just before she could make contact with his skin, the receptionist showed up.

"The rchant Guild Master would like to see you now."

...

[A/N]

There are practically three types of guilds.

rchant guild, for traders, you can think of it like a bank.

Adventurer guilds and, lastly, private guilds, usually called clans, you could consider everyone in the naless dungoen to be a private guild.
