Following the public spectacle, Kai made his way back to the Master Bedroom, a private sanctuary Carlotta had designed just for him.

It was located at the very apex of the castle tower, far away from where anyone could just randomly wander into.

Kai lay on the massive bed, allowing his dark mist form to fully settle into the silk sheets, showing just how exhausted and relaxed he felt in that mont.

Lyra and Carlotta were still outside in the plaza, speaking to the monsters about their respective floor assignnts, so that ant he could finally have so ti to himself.

With a small, unseen smile on his face, he closed his eyes.

’This went well, if I do say so myself. Normally, I would be excited that my monsters are capable of taking care of Level 60 players with ease. But even I am not stupid enough to revel in such a weak victory. There are far stronger players out there, especially now that the ga has turned into a death war.’

For all he knew, the dungeon already had a way of producing low-level monsters passively. As such, spending precious EXP on fodder was useless.

His main target was the last one—the very sa summoning option he had chosen to summon both Lyra and Carlotta, two of the strongest monsters in the Naless Dungeon thus far.

’Hmm... I can’t even pretend and act like this isn’t a huge amount. I can summon as many as I want without batting a single eye.’

He paused, tapping his chin.

’Of course, I need to be careful, since too much isn’t necessarily a good thing if you weigh the pros and cons. Too many powerful egos might clash. But I have eight floors, don’t I? I can have eight powerful summons near , each representing a floor. I did say I would call them the Pillars.’

There was a silence as he continued to scroll through the system, noticing the multiple other features the dungeon had managed to acquire upon ranking up.

[Monster Automatic Lore ] Description: This feature allows any monster that is produced by the dungeon to imdiately understand their duty and know you as their Creator. No training required. Cost: 20,000 EXP to unlock.

[The Great Treasury] Description: This feature automatically allows the dungeon to collect and store worthy artifacts in the dungeon’s treasure room from any enemy slain by either you or your followers. Cost: 34,000 EXP to unlock.

And the list went on and on.

Kai sighed, resting his jaw on his fist.

’Well, there goes that. I knew it was too good to be true. The EXP goes fast when you start unlocking features. h, I can’t really complain much. My monsters have made rather proud. If more players try to attack , I am fairly sure they can handle themselves. Of course, not just any players, as that would start to be annoying with ti.’

Just as he was about to move back to the Summoning Screen to spend his remaining points, he suddenly heard a timid knock on the door.

Imdiately he turned towards the entrance, able to sense exactly who was standing on the other side.

He narrowed his gaze and then transford into his human form to make the interaction less intimidating.

It seed like the person was about to say sothing but instead stopped themselves, only to later open the heavy wooden door slightly.

Then, Emilya walked into the room.

She stood at the left corner, hugging herself, not daring to take even a single step further into the personal space of the Shadow.

While she did seem scared, just like she always had since stepping foot into the mansion, Kai could notice sothing different about her.

There was a hint of conviction on her face. A desperate resolve.

"Emilya. Why are you still in my dungeon? I made it clear to you, you are free to go. None of my subordinates will stop or lay a finger on you."

At first, it seed like she wasn’t going to say anything.

But then, she suddenly fell to her knees, her head bowed and her hands clasped safely in front of her forehead.

"Please, Shadow Sir... allow to remain here with you."

Kai stared at her, genuinely baffled.

"Now, why would you want to do sothing that stupid? The only reason my monsters have not ripped you apart is rely because I haven’t given them the order to do so yet."

She buried her head even more, on the verge of tears.

"Please. I have nowhere to go."

Kai kept his gaze on her the entire ti, analyzing her HP bar, her stats, her trembling shoulders.

’Wouldn’t she be better off just going to the nearest village and starting a new life there? Then again, I guess I can understand how she feels.

Fitting into a new world isn’t that easy, especially when the world is ending. And I am sure she thought long and hard about this. After all, I am supposed to be the Virus, the Enemy of all players in Summoner Guild Online.’

Sigh.
