William looked much different than when he’d first arrived in this world. His hair was longer, and he’d grown a beard.

So, the professor glanced at him briefly, then turned his gaze away, not recognizing him.

That was a good thing. William had checked the professor’s level, and it was at least 100—possibly even higher.

"The heroes are quite powerful in this era because they’ve been leveling up for years, yet I just arrived. What should I do?"

William had used his portal during the fight against that paladin just to survive. The ti and place he’d arrived had been random.

So he was starting to wonder if it was better to just wait for the teleport skill to return and go sowhere else, or try to get stronger faster while in the future.

Anyway, one of the guards—who looked to be the captain of the rmaid security—shouted, his voice echoing through the palace.

"We will call you one by one for your blood harvest."

All the prisoners listened without saying a word or making any sudden movents. They’d tried that before and gotten punished, so there was no need to try again.

William was the sa. The drug was affecting his body—he hadn’t had enough ti to counter it—so it wasn’t like he could leave even if he wanted to.

Also, with a summoned hero there, it was impossible.

"Will he leave soday?"

If he wanted to escape this place in the future, or better yet, help everyone locked in here, the summoned hero had to leave. William couldn’t fight against that man, even if he wanted to.

The first ones to go were the fishern. They were weaker than the adventurers, obviously, so the rmaids needed more ti to harvest their blood without harming them.

William paid close attention to them, and to his professor. His professor actually left, moving to a different room in the back of the palace. It wasn’t the sa room where everyone was getting their blood harvested.

"You," the guard said, pointing at William.

He followed the guard into a back room. Inside, he saw a chair with straps on it. The room had an ominous vibe, with various torture instrunts and vials of blood scattered around.

The triton guard spoke in a harsh tone. "Sit and don’t move."

William sat in the chair. They bound him with special leather straps capable of containing mana—certainly enchanted ones. Then, they harvested his blood.

It didn’t hurt. They took a high amount of blood from him. Most people would need ti to recover properly, but that wasn’t a problem for William. His physique was just far better than the average adventurer’s.

He’d been the last one to get his blood harvested. While leaving the room, William spotted soone. It was yet again soone he knew. Another human from Earth—a man from his classroom, Lucas.

Lucas was a summoned hero too, but he didn’t look good like the professor. Lucas sat in a wheelchair, his face pale, reduced to almost nothing but skin and bones.

"What happened to him?"

William could see that Lucas still had so power even in that state, but he wasn’t as powerful as he should’ve been. It was like his body was restraining his abilities.

A summoned hero ending up in that situation was unexpected. William could only guess that Lucas had suffered so type of curse, or done sothing wrong while seeking power. Or perhaps an enemy had inflicted that damage.

When Lucas saw him, he looked to the side. Although William appeared different now, he believed Lucas—soone who’d bullied him before—would recognize his face even after all those years. If so, that would be bad.

He returned to the sa cell with everyone else. The triton guards ca not long after, bringing them plenty of food to recover from the harvest.

They had to treat them well to keep harvesting their blood.

William ate with everyone else and talked to the sa adventurer as before.

"Do you know who the guy in the wheelchair is? And that other human? Why are the rmaids working with them?"

The adventurer was eating nonstop, so it took him a while to answer.

"They’re really strong, so maybe that’s why the rmaids are working with them. As for the man in the wheelchair—although he seems like the weaker one between the two humans, he’s actually the one in charge. I believe they’re also trying to use our blood to heal him." The adventurer replied, then returned to his frantic eating.

William was lost in thought. Sothing was bothering him. It was just a hunch, yet the thought made his body shiver. Things could go terribly wrong in the upcoming days if events unfolded the way he predicted...

*

A whole week passed while William was still locked in the cell with everyone else. It was once again ti to get their blood harvested. William went with the rest, just like before.

They moved to the sa place and saw the sa tritons and rmaids. But Lucas was there this ti, beside the professor. He looked slightly better than before, as if the blood treatnt was working.

William could sense sothing peculiar inside his own body.

"I knew it!"

The blood treatnt had been going on for quite a while, yet nothing had changed in Lucas’s body. It didn’t work the sa way it did with the rmaids. Yet with no other option, he’d still taken the treatnt, hoping to get better soday.

But things changed now with William’s blood. His demonic bloodline possessed trendous vitality, so when his blood entered Lucas’s body, it did things no other blood could. William was sure of it because he could feel so of his power inside Lucas now.

That wasn’t a good thing at all. Lucas, in his weakened state, was soone William believed he could win against in a fight. The professor, however, was out of the question.

All the other tritons and rmaids weren’t that powerful to begin with, so William wasn’t scared of them either.

But if Lucas recovered his strength? William wouldn’t be able to escape! He needed to act, and fast.

However, what could he do? To improve his chances, the professor had to leave that place and leave Lucas alone. That was the only way...

William had his blood harvested again, and then returned to the sa cell.

They mixed all the blood together for the treatnt, so Lucas had no idea it was William’s blood making him feel better. That was good. If they found out about it, he could beco the only blood bag they needed.

Just like that, three weeks passed. During this ti, Lucas recovered more of his strength, and the professor still hadn’t left. Things were getting really bad for William.

He had to act.

Now that his body had endured the drug multiple tis, it didn’t affect him anymore. So if he decided to attack them, it would be quite the surprise.

But William had sothing else planned. He had to control Lucas! Under normal circumstances, that would be impossible considering the gap in their strength. However, Lucas now had a lot of demonic energy inside his body!

The demonic energy was unusable to him, and he didn’t even know it was there. But for William, it would make the mind control process much easier—and actually doable.

"If I can control Lucas temporarily and use him to fight against the professor, things might work out for ."

During the night, when everyone else was sleeping heavily with tired bodies and drugs in their system, William acted. He didn’t have his full portal skill available, but he could still use it for small teleports—pretty useful during combat and for escaping situations just like this one.

He activated his SSS skill and instantly appeared outside. It was as if his body twisted, entering another dinsion, then surfaced sowhere else. It all happened in a flash.

Once outside, he moved. Most of the rmaids and tritons were sleeping. There were so guards patrolling the city, yet those weren’t much of a threat to William.

He easily avoided them, stealthily walking through the city toward the palace. Lucas’s private room was inside that palace! He had to find him, control his mind, and fight against the professor. It was the only possible way to escape.

The front door had two guards stationed in front. William couldn’t just walk past them, and even if he used his teleport skill, they would notice sothing strange going on. That wasn’t the only problem.

"If I just randomly use my teleport, I’ll end up inside the palace surrounded by guards. I need to use a specific spot..."

William had gone to the palace multiple tis to get his blood harvested, even during the night. So his knowledge of the guards’ patrol routes was decent enough.

He moved to the palace’s side and stopped at a specific spot.

"This is it!"

He focused on his teleport, then used it. His calculations were right. What he saw before his eyes was the door to Lucas’s private room. It had worked out just fine.

William stepped forward, and right at that mont, the door opened. Lucas had left his room to take a piss...
