Rebo asked again, afraid that he might have heard the wrong thing.

"What did you say her na was?"

William and Geneva looked at each other and sighed. It would take them a long ti to explain everything to Rebo...

They talked for about 10 minutes. Rebo listened attentively and occasionally asked a few questions.

The main thing they wanted to know was if the old friend Geneva knew (the one who stole her) was Rebo's mother.

And to know that, Geneva shared how the woman looked, stating her appearance to Rebo.

The appearance wasn't the sa; Geneva had last seen her friend many years earlier. But still, she had so features that linked her to Rebo's mother.

"My mother had a scar on her left hand, a tiny one," Rebo said. "Did you see that?"

Geneva nodded. "Yes, she had it too!"

That was all they needed to be sure that they were looking for the sa person. Now, William had a new ally.

They went from trying to kill each other to becoming friends with the sa goal. The world could turn upside down in a matter of seconds.

"So did Collin and Seraphina find sothing about her?" William asked.

"I don't know yet," Geneva said, "but if they did find sothing, they would contact sohow."

From how Geneva spoke, William thought Collin and Seraphina were far away, not in the capital.

"Where are they?" William asked.

"Kali," Geneva said as she looked at Rebo, "your mother ran away from the capital. That's the problem; we have no idea where she is going. I was hoping you could help us sohow."

Before William and Rebo showed up, Geneva had no idea about Kali's life. She didn't know she had a son and a husband with a different na. She also was unaware of the rest of her family.

Now that Rebo was there, Geneva hoped he could help her. He could know sothing that she didn't know.

Rebo tried to think of sothing.

"One day, years ago, she left with her grandfather and never returned. No letter to or my father," Rebo said, looking down with a face of sorrow.

"When exactly did it happen?" Geneva asked.

"8 years ago? 9? I ain't sure of that."

Geneva asked that because she wanted to look for a link. If Kali left, then it had to have a reason behind it.

Despite the thoughtful thinking, she didn't find anything to back up that information.

"But you said Kali had a grandfather? We searched for her family, and there is nothing in the docunts. She does not have any living parents or grandparents."

"Are you sure of that?" Rebo asked, "Since she lied about her na and ran away, maybe the grandfather I knew isn't really mine."

The web of lies of Kali was increasing with every passing mont. Everything Rebo knew could be a lie. His life, his world, was falling apart.

But Geneva thought otherwise. "The grandfather you know is her father, and not so random person. She must have faked the docunts, or her father faked his death."

William entered the conversation.

"Are you sure of that?" William asked.

"Kali brought up her father a few tis. There was sothing off between them, but I couldn't figure it out then."

Geneva looked excited for so reason; William frowned.

"Do you know sothing that we don't?" he asked.

"Yes and no. I know that Kali and her family owned so land far from here. But the docunts said no one was living there. But, if her father is alive, then the docunts saying that could be wrong, too."

That was only a hunch. Geneva couldn't be certain of it. But it was better to go there and check sothing than to wait for Collin and Seraphina.

So, that's what they did. On the following day, of course.

The room William and Rebo were staying in was big enough for the three of them.

William and Geneva sat on the balcony, sipping drinks in the late night.

"Did you search Kali's lands before?" William asked.

"We did. There was nothing there, but I know it's there."

Geneva was almost certain Kali and her father were hiding on their land sowhere. it was the only place she could think of that Kali would run to.

"How far is it?" William said as he sipped his wine again.

"It's far. It will take us 20 days by carriage."

William didn't want to use a carriage anymore. He traveled with Bruce for many days, and he grew tired of it.

It was not a fast ans of transportation. He didn't want to lose ti.

"I have a way for us to travel faster," William said, "Is there any flying magical beast near the capital? A big one that we can win in a fight?"

Geneva was curious about what William had in mind. She said, "I know where to find a flying beast."

They left the capital by carriage. The reason for it was pretty simple. William was certain that Kali had people in the capital to inform her about Geneva's moves.

"That might be why you went to her lands and found nothing," William said. "If she knew when you left, she would know when you'd arrive."

Most people traveled by carriages, horses, or on foot. So, Kali would have a guess as to when Geneva would arrive.

"Now that you say this, it makes sense. You're a smart man," Geneva praised William.

She visited Kali's land a long ti ago, so she didn't think of that back then.

They left the capital in a carriage. But soon after leaving the city, they all got out. It was only a facade.

A man was with them, a rchant who was the owner of that carriage. He continued the journey while they stopped by the road.

"Co with ," Geneva said, "there's a nest of a flying beast around this area. At least that's what the rumors say."

Geneva never went hunting to get a flying beast and kill it. She only heard rumors about the location of the nest.

The chance of all those rumors being a lie was there, but it was better to risk it. With a flying mount, they would reach Kali's lands in a short ti, and that would allow them to catch her by surprise.

"Why are we looking for a flying beast, anyway?" Geneva asked.

Rebo also had the sa doubts in his mind.

They were all together on that mission, so William didn't see a reason to hide the information from them. Also, it was not like they wouldn't see him taming the beast.

"I can ta beasts," he said, "so we can ta a flying one and reach our destination much faster. If Kali has soone informing her about your moves, she will think you left with a carriage."

That was why he wanted to leave the city with the carriage; Geneva felt surprised.

"I've never heard of anyone who can ta a beast like this with little effort," she said. "It often takes much longer."

William was not the only person capable of taming wild beasts. But he was one of the few who could use his demonic energy to do so. Others had to go through a longer process to have the sa effects as he could in a matter of seconds.

"What can I say? I am one of a kind," William bragged.

They soon found a mountain after going through the forest. It was like the mountain where William and Geneva fought.

The nest of the flying beast was there. At least that was what the rumors said. People said they heard screams during the night, and so saw a massive creature flying.

No one was sure of it, and no one wanted to go there to check.

As they began their climb, William sensed a flying beast nearby. His senses were much stronger than Geneva's or Rebo's.

"This is the right place," William said, "the flying beast is here. It's not that strong."

"You're powerful, aren't you? Like, no one could have survived the damage I caused you during our fight."

Rebo heard it, and he was curious. "What damage? Did you two fight?"

"Yes," William said, "she shot with the bow and stabbed my back twenty tis with a dagger."

Geneva expected Rebo to look shocked, but he remained expressionless.

"Aren't you surprised by his strength?" she asked.

Rebo shook his head. "He is my master, so I know he is powerful. I am here to learn everything I can from him and beco as strong as he is in the future."

Both Geneva and William knew that it would take a long ti. But they didn't want to crush Rebo's dreams.

Anyway, they climbed the mountain, and there it was: the nest. The nest was inside a cave up in the mountains.

The flying beast was a predator that hunted during the night, so it slept during the day. They had the best opportunity to strike and ta the beast.
