708 Soul Reset

Apart from Dullahans, any living being would die if their head were turned the other way around. However, the undead could cheat this manner of death.

This is what happened with the undead bear. It remained standing with a dislocated head swaying from left to right. The reanimated corpse refused to stay dead.

The lower jaw was severed after the head was forced to twist because the tendrils still impaled it. It remained attached to the tendrils like a trophy.

Zero could feel the jaw tremble as if it sought to reattach itself to the undead bear. Zero moved the tendrils from left to right and released the hold at the end of the swing. The lower jaw was thrown a ter or two away. Far enough for the undead bear to remain with a missing lower jaw.

One of the Cefeyes noticed a strange object on the ground. It grabbed this peculiar object, and it was too hot to hold.

The Cefeye was in the process of lifting the strange object, and after feeling pain, it threw the object in the air.

“Vincent!” Awa exclaid after watching a ball of green steam being thrown in the air. She extended her hand and shot a shadow line, attaching it and pulling the ball of green steam toward her.

“Vincent. Thank the god of war I found you.” Awa said in a wavering voice.

After knowing the reason why green steam escaped from Vincent’s body, Awa felt bad imagining how badly damaged Vincent’s head currently was.

.....

Awa stopped contemplating and looked around her. She saw Night gazing at her. She also saw dozens upon dozens of Cefeye futilely attacking the limbs of the undead bear as if they hoped to make the colossal bear with a dislocated head fall to the ground.

*Neigh*

“Thank you, Night. ” Awa said. Both lept at the sa ti. One jumped up high in the sky and materialized a large shadow greatsword while the other went to Vincent’s headless body.

Instead of landing kicks, Night attached a shadow line onto the undead bear’s front right leg. She pulled herself like a trigger and shot her body like a bullet.

Night landed a swift slash against the fur hardened by earth magic and earth spikes protruding from the skin. However, because Night first needed to remove the earth’s magic protection, it would take a very long ti.

Night landed on the ground. She looked at Awa, trying to reattach Vincent’s head. *Neigh* Night sounded somber as if she had said farewell.

Night slamd her foot on the ground and cracked the earth like an earth spike was about to attack her. She swiftly shoved the shadow greatsword into the undead bear’s right front leg and kicked the blade halfway inside.

Night attached a shadow line to the handle of the shadow greatsword and started running the undead bear’s right front leg.

Step after the other while evading earth spikes from hitting her, Night ran to the top. The mont Night reached the top of the undead bear’s back, she jumped as high as she could.

Night kicked up while the montum was still pushing her upwards in the sky. The shadow line was pulled with great force, and the shadow greatsword dragged upward.

After lacerating the leg from the foot to the knee, the blade got unstuck, and it shot upward for the sky. Night looked at Awa one last ti before her body soared to the sky after the flying shadow greatsword pulled her.

Awa looked at Plow. “Do you think it will work?” She asked in a wavering voice.

*Sniffle* “Plow saw Vincent Vincent grow arm back.” *Sniffle* “Plow wants Vincent to beco alive again.” *Sniffle*

“Master. Is. Alive.” Zero said while using tendrils to attack the undead bear.

While Awa hoped the head could reattach itself, she noticed the female Cefeye was acting strangely. She kept her hand in her mouth while her body quivered slightly.

‘Is she dying?’ Awa questioned.

A second later, Awa saw the female Cefeye remove her hands from her mouth, close her large eye, and fall to the ground.

The female Cefeye started frotting as if she was poisoned, and her body jerked a few tis before it stopped. The female Cefeye gave Awa the impression she was dead for so mysterious reason.

However, Awa was the only one who noticed what was happening to the female Cefeye. Plow and the three Dullahans were focused on Vincent’s body.

They observed the green steam becoming less thick as ti passed. They could hear the sound of a liquid moving and squirming. The clearer the view beca, the more they could see what was happening.

Vincent’s head was reattached, and his hair had beco short. The bulging green veins throbbed, and the body finally moved.

*Pho! Pho! Pho!* “Vincent Vincent is back!” Plow beca happy to see Vincent move his body again.

“Our clan leader is immortal!”

“Glory to the god of war!”

“A human. No. A Dullahan. No. Our clan leader is a god!”

The three Dullahans said after watching what to them was a miracle no re mortal could achieve.

Their respect for Vincent grew by leaps and bounds. They wanted to run away and tell all the Dullahans about Vincent and how blessed they were to have an immortal god as their clan leader and their clan chieftain, the first legendary Dullahan in centuries.

“Ugh...” Vincent said in a raspy voice.

The three Dullahans wanted to help Vincent get up, but Awa said, “Don’t touch him, or your hands will get scalded.”

They stopped trying to give assistance and let Awa help Vincent.

Awa helped Vincent to stand on his two feet. She was surprised to see Vincent with short unruly hair. He felt different.

Vincent looked at Awa. He blinked twice and moved his head specifically on Plow. He blinked twice and moved his head on Zero. He blinked twice and looked at the female Cefeye on the ground.

Awa couldn’t understand what Vincent was doing. Not only did his outer appearance feel a little different because of his short hair, but his presence was different than the ones Awa had seen up until now.

Vincent moved away from Awa’s arms. Not only he ignored Awa, but he also ignored Plow and Zero.

Vincent stopped right in front of the female Cefeye. He looked at her and blinked twice again. He extended his hand and suddenly slashed his raised arm.

Mutated blood fell on the female Cefeye. She was painted green in boiling mutated blood. Fortunately, she was unconscious as she didn’t blurt out the faintest moan.

Awa grabbed Vincent’s shoulder and pulled him to face her. “Vincent. What are you doing? Why are you torturing her?” She asked worriedly.

Vincent didn’t respond. He raised his gaze up and looked behind Awa. The undead bear had its left front leg raised, and it was preparing to swing at any mont.

Awa sensed danger. she didn’t want to lose Vincent again. She lowered and prepared to jump. At that mont, she heard a wind-piercing sound, prompting her to stop.

*Whoosh! Bam!* Night descended from the sky to the ground. The mont her body the ground, it exploded into a dark cloud before dispersing and vanishing.

The right front leg was severed halfway, and the swinging motion of the left front leg caused the undead beat to lose its balance.

The undead bear’s paw hit its dislocated head and slamd to the ground. The right front arm Night severed halfway was almost completely torn.

The Cefeyes took this opportunity to climb the undead bear while relentlessly attacking. They acted as if they all sought revenge.

Awa shed a tear. “You can rest now, Night.” She said in a low voice.

Awa moved all her attention onto Vincent. She placed her hands on his shoulders and said, “That thing will need so more ti to recover. Tell , are you feeling well?”

Vincent looked at Awa. He blinked twice and asked, “Who are you? Are you the shadow of death?”

Awa was shocked to hear such a question. She was too shocked to respond.

“It is Awa Awa.” *Pho!* “Did Vincent Vincent forget?” *Pho?*

Vincent moved his head onto Plow. He blinked twice and asked, “Who are you, little talking blue fox? Who is Vincent Vincent?”

Plow was the one to freeze from utter shock next.

Vincent grabbed Awa’s hands and moved them away. He raised his hands and looked at his gauntlets. “Who am I? Why am I here?”

Awa, Plow, and the three Dullahans realized Vincent had lost his mories after losing his head and reattaching it after it was greatly damaged.

*Pho!* “Plow rembers the ergency Kazumi Kazumi told Plow.”

“What is it, Plow? What plan did she tell you of? Can it help us?”

“Plow thinks so.” *Pho* “If Vincent Vincent acts stranger than baddie Vincent Vincent, Plow must make Vincent Vincent say Soul Reset.”

Awa beca hopeful the code word could help Vincent in so way or form. She asked Vincent, “Do you know who Soul Reset is?”

“Soul Reset?” Vincent questioned.

A window appeared in front of his eyes less than a second later. If he knew how to read or not, he did not need to read. His body experienced pain, and it made him frown.

His body was undergoing constant pain and regeneration at the sa ti. It was the paynt for using Soul Power without having a single point.

Vincent’s body had a sheen of green light. His eyes and the mark on his side shone brightly, giving the impression the Soul Reset had worked.

*~Haaa~* Vincent exhaled a cloud of steam, and his lips arced a faint smile. His expression was more relaxed and clear now.
