538 Discovery of immortal-like creatures
Aceon beca nervous when Vincent spoke bluntly to the Duke. It caused him to wipe his forehead and remove the nervous sweat again.
Aceon knew that it would be best to change the subject since Karta still didn’t make her appearance for so reason.
*Cough* “The last of the Lionheart wives is Sakura Lionheart. She is the demon girl you were eager to et.” He briefly introduced.
Vincent noticed Aceon signaling with his eyes to get the introductions over with. Not only the introductions took a lot of ti, but the scented candles were making them hungrier as ti passed.
“This is Sakura Lionheart. “Vincent said while smiling at Sakura, showing how she ant a lot to him.
“... Good to et you.” Greeted Sakura nervously with her hands forming half fists from stress.
Sakura was the most anxious out of everyone in the dining hall because she knew the Duke was interested in her for a reason she couldn’t think about.
On the other hand, the two butlers assud Sakura was preparing to sucker punch the Duke.
Ironically, Bobstrider believed his butlers were making Sakura uncomfortable since he believed he wasn’t a scary person. ‘Symtry isn’t scary’ is one of the many symtry catchphrases the Duke created.
.....
*Clap* “Servants, leave for now. I will request your presence when we are ready to start eating.”
The two butlers nodded after listening to their lord’s order. Both left the dining hall without the slightest complaint.
Sakura felt less nervous thanks to Bobstrider’s keen eye. However, the main culprit was still looking at Sakura as if she was a famous person.
It was the sa expression of a person looking at an important person. It was making Sakura uncomfortable.
Vincent touched Sakura’s arm and said, “Thank you for your consideration. Sakura will feel better with fewer humans she doesn’t know around her.”
“Aceon told your wife is a Synergist. Is it true?” Asked Bobstrider.
“Yes, but let keep the long story short. Sakura was a Blacksmith for many years, but fortunately, lady luck blessed Sakura with an unbelievable awakening a few months ago. Sakura awakened into a Synergist, and she is trying her best to learn the new class with vast possibilities.”
“Most interesting,” Bobstrider said while curling his mustache with both hands. “Sakura not only is a demon woman with a good symtrical healthy figure, but she also has one of the most coveted class.”
Sakura blushed when she was praised for being a good-looking woman in the eyes of the symtry professional Bobstrider Von Milloween.
On the other hand, Ester, Kazumi, Iris, and Lilith agreed Sakura was a tall beauty, while Lupa and Plow beca shocked to hear Sakura outranked their symtrical healthy figures.
*Pho!* “Not fair....”
“What! But I am best girl....”
Both Lupa and Plow felt sad they lost at the sa ti to Sakura.
“Thank you, Duke... I an Bob for praising my wife.”
While Vincent thanked Bobstrider, he saw Aceon moving lips to say, ‘Karta.’
“Bob. May I ask if Duchess Karta is going to attend?” Vincent shook his hands and continued, “It’s not that I need to see her. I simply wanted to thank the duchess for the security increase around our ho. Her help is making everyone live an ordinary life.”
Bobstrider shook his head. *Sigh* “Regrettably, my wife can’t attend today.”
“Karta and a strong team of royal soldiers, mages, and healers went to take care of a strange Demonic Beast.” *Sigh* “Not only did she get injured for being the only royal guard present, but her strongest, most favorite, and most symtrical staff also broke.”
“What? Is it true, uncle Bob? I never heard of this... I want to see mother Karta soon....”
Bobstrider beca troubled when Tiffi was about to cry.
Don’t worry, Tiffi. Thanks to the Royal Doctor Hibiscus, Karta should be completely healed by now. She only needs rest to recover, so I requested Karta to rest for an extra couple of days in the royal infirmary. “He quickly explained.
“To return symtrical healthy?” Tiffi asked with a less saddened expression.
“Yes.”
While Tiffi and Bobstrider were talking, the rest beca greatly curious and worried about what happened.
Learning of demonic beasts appearing nearby was worrying news. Not to ntion a demonic beast that can give the strongest Mage in Lusterfall a run for her money.
“Can we know a little about what kind of monster the duchess has faced?” Asked Vincent. The others around him perked their ears to learn about the danger they had no way to defeat.
“Karta told it is confidential, but she knew the news would spread sooner or later. Karta told in her letter about an alpha magic beast that sohow beca a demonic beast. Furthermore, Karta said it had the regeneration of immortals.”
[Regeneration of immortals? Could it be the type of fast regeneration you have while using Overload?]
-If your guess is unfortunately correct, the world holds more danger than we imagined.-
[Yeah. It would make the past months used to grow stronger a better option. If we left imdiately and searched for Kevin’s son or daughter, we might end up facing a creature that gives the strongest mage in Lusterfall trouble.]
Both Vincent and Kazumi agreed that spending six months in the academy was the best choice to nurture their growth. Additionally, the growth of those around him.
“Did the duchess perhaps inform how she managed to slay an immortal demonic beast?” Ester suddenly asked with a serious expression.
*Sigh* “Karta wrote how it was like entering an endless nightmare. Her opponent never stayed dead.” Bobstirder said with an uneasy tone.
“Karta started to believe it was hopeless to slay it until she rembered the recent report of the barbarian... I an, the cultivator leader from the north content. It appears he used a specific idea to defeat an immortal Broodmother Ant Queen.”
[Is Bob ntioning Fang ngli? And how powerful is he to beat sothing that the strongest mage in Lusterfall couldn’t beat without his report?]
“I heard Feng ngli, who is the patriarch of the Heavenly God Mantis sect, had taken care of the ant problem. Was it perhaps him?” Asked Vincent.
“Yes. He was the one that reported the defeat of a strange unkillable by normal ans, artificial chira ant. He ntioned how he never saw anything like that in his entire life, and if dragons really existed, then they would have already appeared to kill the ants before they consud all life in the world.”
*Tsk* “Barbarians really do not believe in our great symtrical dragon gods.”
Ester stepped forward and asked again, “How was the creature with so much regeneration that it couldn’t be killed by normal ans stay dead?”
Kazumi started to realize what was in Ester’s mind. The way to kill these types of immortal-like creatures was the sa thod to kill Overload Vincent for good.
This discovery started to show how Vincent’s death cheating ability had another weakness other than ti.
“As far as I know, the limbs reconnected in a few seconds. If they were not back in their original place for a small amount of ti, they slowly regrew over the course of a minute or two.”
“However, even if the head was cut, the body would still remain alive and active. Additionally, the body would move toward the head until the head is destroyed.”
“Karta told how a new one started growing from the body after the head was destroyed the first ti. Strangely, the demonic beast repeated the sa mistakes it made at the beginning of the fight. Karta assus it lost its mories.”
“Karta used the plan to lead the headless immortal-like creature into a hole the soldiers dug as deep as possible in a short ti. While the soldiers kept it in the hole, Karta used all her power to turn the body into pulp.”
After hearing about a gory death battle, the mood in the dining hall wasn’t one of a good apatite. However, Bobstrider wasn’t finished with the story.
“The body beca pulp, the staff broke, and Karta thought the fight was over. As everyone was rejoicing in the hard-earned victory, the head suddenly ca back to life.”
“Its veins extended and penetrated into the soldier holding it. The controlled solder ran towards Karta, and while she evaded the soldier’s charge, the head she thought was dead fell on her legs and took her by surprise. It bit her legs and...”
Tiffi shivered after hearing how much in pain Karta must have been. She tried her best to muster courage and keep listening to the story until the end. Fortunately, Tiffi already knew Karta was fine.
“Ahem. Karta used her spare wand to turn the head into a pulp. Later, they burned all that remained of the creature from the fear of one day returning to life or infecting another animal.”
“Karta believes eradication with fire or containnt with ice would be the only choices anyone fighting these things has at the mont. Sa with how the barb... I an cultivator. He also burnt an area of the forest to destroy the dead Broodmother Ant Queen.”
Ester’s question was answered, and the ans to kill Overload Vincent was discovered. While Vincent becos blinded by rage, he becos similar to the immortal-like demonic beast where he can be led into a trap and killed.
On the other hand, this story gave Kazumi a lot to think about Vincent’s death cheating effect caused by Overload. She wanted to make Vincent’s second chance improve if possible because the probability of a third chance ever happening could be slim to none.
