1558: Chapter 1557: The Boss Treats to a al_1 1558: Chapter 1557: The Boss Treats to a al_1 “What’s going on?” Reid Nelson looked up and began to listen.

It wasn’t just her who heard the arguing coming from Christian Greenhill’s office, even Peter Brown and his colleagues heard it, too.

The two were arguing behind closed doors.

At that mont, Ivy Cooper also looked towards that office and asked, “What happened?”

Peter Brown said, “Yeah, why are they fighting?

Should we go and try to calm things down?”

As he said this, Peter Brown didn’t get up; breaking up fights was not his job.

The argunt inside the office grew louder, but it seed that they were deliberately hiding the content of their quarrel, so it was not very clear to the listeners.

Peter Brown picked up his water cup and took a sip, estimating that he was probably the only one who truly understood what the argunt was about.

After a while, Christian Greenhill opened the door and with a loud slam, left the office.

So ti later, Vincent Clinton also left, looking equally furious.

The three people in the office looked at each other but said nothing.

Listening to the office where Henry Ford should be, it seed like he wasn’t there either.

This early in the day, the agency began to feel eerie, and nobody dared to roam around; they all just sat in their offices until it was ti to leave.

Of course, Reid Nelson and Ivy Cooper were not the types to just sit quietly in the office waiting; Peter Brown noticed that both of them had gone out several tis, each ti making phone calls.

Peter didn’t hear the content of Reid’s phone call, but he did overhear the conversation between Ivy and Christian.

It indeed was about the evidence.

Vincent Clinton arrived at the office first, then discovered that the key piece of evidence was missing.

Just as Peter had guessed, he had secretly made a copy of Christian’s drawer key, and found his safe key upon opening it—it resulted in both of them starting a dispute.

In the afternoon, gossip began to spread quietly from office to office; however, the news wasn’t about the argunt but about the branch’s affairs.

At the head office eting, Mr.

Taylor supported Henry Ford and criticized so for neglecting their duties and engaging in underhanded activities.

Not only that, but Mr.

Taylor also presented material on so financial transactions between Christian and the construction team.

Fortunately, Mr.

Spencer spoke up for Christian, resulting in only a warning, and nothing more severe was done to him.

No sooner had this news broken than another rumour followed, saying that Vincent Clinton was criticized by the Vice President during the eting for serious male-female relationships; a husband had complained to the company, demanding his demotion.

While these events were still unfolding, another piece of news ca out that Caron from finance had resigned voluntarily.

All kinds of news reached Peter’s ears, and he felt that everyone was making their moves, but he didn’t understand why the Vice President would target Vincent.

After listening for a while, Peter didn’t continue to get involved, believing he had done everything he should.

Sitting in the office, Peter monitored his internal state and found that his spirit and body were fully rged.

Upon realizing this, Peter understood that by investing his mind and body in his scheming lately, his energy had perfectly unified—this was conducive to the fusion.

Peter was actually very aweso with computer knowledge, able to spot many websites’ flaws at a glance.

He even found that many large company websites were as defenseless as open fields to him.

After all, he was here for the rge, and finding a vulnerability to make money would have been no problem.

Of course, the temptation was quite alluring to Peter, and he couldn’t help thinking about using so special thods to get rich.

However, Peter ultimately resisted this thought, worried that it might negatively impact the fusion if he proceeded.

Peter now clearly understood that the longer he remained at the bottom, the more it would help with the fusion process.

“Peter, if you’re free tonight, let’s have dinner together, my treat.”

As work was about to end, he received a text ssage from Reid Nelson.

When he looked up at Reid, she gave him a look.

Peter nodded slightly as a yes, thinking he had nothing else to do and that dinner sounded like a good idea.

As everyone left the office one by one, Ivy also left, then Reid asked, “I know a quiet place to eat.

Shall we go there for dinner?”

“Reid, I was thinking of inviting you, but I haven’t received my salary yet,” Peter said with an embarrassed smile.

“It’s fine, you can treat after you get your paycheck,” Reid Nelson said with a smile on her face.

After making plans, they did not leave together.

Instead, Reid went first, and Peter Brown waited a while before leaving.

Just as Peter was about to leave, Henry Ford called.

“Peter, I’ve sent Joseph Smith to pick you up for dinner,” he said.

Henry’s voice was cheerful and left no room for Peter to decline.

“Okay,” Peter could only agree.

After hanging up, Peter hurriedly called Reid Nelson and said, “Sister Reid, Mr.

Ford just notified to join a gathering, and I didn’t dare refuse.”

“What?

Mr.

Ford asked you to go?” Reid’s voice sounded sowhat shocked.

“Yes, he said he’s sending Joseph Smith to pick up.”

After a while, Reid’s voice conveyed a sense of helplessness, “Peter, that’s a good thing.

We can have dinner any ti.

You go ahead.”

“All right, I’ll treat you next ti I get paid.”

After hanging up the phone, Peter gave the matter so thought and began to understand that Henry had started to consider him one of his own, following these events.

When he arrived at the construction site’s gate, sure enough, he saw Joseph Smith had already arrived in his car.

Once he got into the car, Joseph couldn’t help but glance at Peter.

Joseph was one of Henry’s trusted n, yet even he couldn’t figure out why Henry was suddenly being so nice to Peter.

Such a strange thing!

Because he couldn’t understand, Joseph’s attitude towards Peter was sowhat warr, and he smiled, “The boss has been waiting for a while.

Are you ready to go now?”

Peter got into the car and said, “Yeah, that’s fine, Brother Joseph.

What does Mr.

Ford need for?”

“I don’t know.”

The car headed toward the outskirts of the city.

After more than half an hour, they arrived at a mountain villa.

Peter had never been to such a place before.

He looked out to see lush greenery and beautiful waters, a perfect spot for fishing.

“The boss and others are probably playing Mahjong, let’s go inside,” said Joseph.

When Peter carefully looked at the cars parked in the courtyard, he recognized several that belonged to the heads of various departnts in the subsidiary.

These people were likely all Henry’s confidants.

Following Joseph inside, Peter indeed saw a group of people playing Mahjong.

It wasn’t an external business engagent but seed more like an internal gathering.

“Peter, find a place to sit down, everyone’s familiar here.

Let’s all enjoy ourselves,” Henry said as he looked at Peter with a very pleased expression, showing a bit more kindness.

“Mr.

Ford, I’ll pour you so water,” Peter quickly took the kettle and started pouring water.

With a hearty laugh, Henry said, “Don’t be bashful here, we’re all brothers.

Do you know how to play Mahjong?”

Peter replied, “A little bit, but I’m not very good.”

“Well, it’s fine, just watch and you’ll learn.

It’s not hard,” Henry reassured.

The heads of the different departnts all looked over at Peter.

They noticed that Mr.

Ford was very friendly toward this mber of the Integrated Office and began to speculate about Peter’s relationship with Henry Ford.
